Before entering the New World, Lin Sizhi worked as a criminal defense lawyer. His last remembered moment was driving late at night to meet a client before an oncoming white light cut off his memory. He awakens in a white room and is offered a test: accept a criminal’s existing verdict or design a new judgment game. 1

He challenges the three-year sentence of Wei Xinjian, whose speeding killed a couple, and designs “Redemption Roulette.” The Gallery approves the proposal, placing Wei and Lin in an old warehouse with a revolver, two restraint chairs, and a crushing mechanism.
