At the entrance to the Soul Hunting Forest, dust billowed. Tang San and Yu Xiao Gang arrived just in time, and from a distance, they saw a circle of people, their clamor incessant.
"Teacher, what's happening over there?" Tang San, acutely sensing the fluctuations in Spirit Power, looked curiously in the direction of the crowd.
Yu Xiao Gang narrowed his eyes, naturally feeling a spark of curiosity. "Let's go take a look. Remember, watch more, talk less."
In the center of the crowd stood Michael, clad in snow-white robes, his youthful spirit radiating.
Before him stood five fierce soul hunters. The hulking bald man leading them sneered, "Brat, mind your own business! I'm a three-ring Soul Elder!"
"Besides, what happened before was because he didn't follow the rules and threw his own life away. Can you blame us for something like this?"
"No, my husband didn't!" A woman knelt behind Michael, her voice finally cracking with sobs. "I just became pregnant with his child. He cherished his life dearly; how could he possibly do something so reckless?"
"How would I know that?" The burly man impatiently spat a glob of phlegm onto the ground. He looked down at Michael, a flash of lust in his eyes.
This kid was fair and handsome. He knew well that certain nobles in the city had such tastes. Why not go all the way and abduct this kid to offer to those important figures? It would be another hefty profit!
Qian Daoliu, who had transformed into Michael, naturally didn't miss the lecherous glint in the bald man's eyes. He hadn't expected that even at his age of over a hundred, he would still see such an expression in these people's eyes.
Truly disgusting!
Michael's white robe fluttered slightly in the wind. He lowered his gaze to the puddle of filthy spit on the ground and suddenly chuckled.
This laughter sent an inexplicable shiver down the bald man's spine. He couldn't understand why this kid could still laugh in such a disadvantageous situation.
"What are you laughing at?" the bald man roared, his voice laced with false bravado, his three Spirit Rings suddenly illuminating.
The four companions behind him simultaneously released their Martial Souls, and five waves of Spirit Power pressure bore down on the slender youth.
The surrounding crowd gasped. Tang San subconsciously took a few steps back, but Yu Xiao Gang, mistaking his movement for an attempt to charge forward, quickly placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Don't move," the Master's voice trembled. "You don't even have a Spirit Ring; are you trying to die?"
At this moment, Michael slowly raised his right hand, and a blinding white light suddenly erupted from his fingertips.
The light flowed like a tangible substance, condensing into a long sword burning with holy flames in his palm.
"I'm laughing at you," his voice suddenly became ethereal and distant, "for weaving such wicked lies, yet no one refutes them."
He looked at the surrounding crowd, his tone turning cold.
Among the onlookers, some knew the circumstances of what had happened, and even most of them knew the woman's words were true, yet not a single person stepped forward to help.
How could human hearts be so cold?
Was this the reason Lord had sent him into the world?
Michael was the Angel of Judgment. When Ye Su bestowed upon him that noble name, he also granted him a certain authority of judgment.
To lie in the face of judgment, did they think judgment couldn't wield its sword?
The bald man's sneer froze on his face. He felt an unprecedented pressure bearing down on him, forcing him to his knees!
The bald man's knees slammed heavily onto the ground, cracking it like a spiderweb. He discovered in terror that his Martial Soul was uncontrollably dissipating, his three Spirit Rings extinguishing one after another like snuffed-out candles.
"Who exactly are you?!" The bald man's companions fell to the ground, one of them having wet his pants.
The crowd retreated like a tide, some knocking over roadside stalls. Fresh fruits rolled everywhere.
The holy sword in Michael's hand suddenly dissipated into specks of light.
He bent down and helped the trembling woman up, his voice unbelievably gentle. "Madam, please identify who took your family's possessions."
Yu Xiao Gang's pupils contracted violently.
As a master of theory, he knew better than anyone that only perhaps the legendary Domain-type Spirit Skills could achieve such an effect, forcing a Soul Master's Martial Soul to dissipate.
Yet this white-robed youth hadn't even revealed his Spirit Rings!
The woman mustered her courage and pointed to the jade pendant at the bald man's waist. "That jade pendant was my mother-in-law's dowry!"
Michael tapped his fingertip, and the money bag in the bald man's embrace flew out automatically. Gold coins swirled in the air like a golden stream, finally stacking neatly at the woman's feet.
"I understand that you chose to remain silent due to their martial strength," Michael turned to face the petrified onlookers. "But each of you knows the truth in your hearts."
"If you stand by and do nothing today, and disaster befalls you tomorrow, who will save you?" Michael said, picking up a gold coin. A segment of video unfolded beside him.
This was a portion of the authority of a demigod, using the full screen of judgment to play a past truth.
This was only useful for the wronged.
The video clearly showed how this team of soul hunters had mutiny, killed the woman's husband, and then embezzled his property.
"Spirit Hall will deliver the fairest judgment." As Michael finished speaking, Spirit Hall enforcers emerged from the corner and arrested the members of the soul hunting team who had broken the rules.
They hadn't come to arrest these people initially; they had heard someone was causing trouble at the entrance of the Soul Hunting Forest and intended to investigate.
They hadn't expected to stumble upon such a scene.
The surrounding crowd quickly dared not make a sound, leaving only the woman's choked sobs.
They also knew in their hearts that if they continued to stand by idly, and disaster befell them in the future, perhaps no one would cheer them on.
Soon, someone stepped forward. "I can testify! They're the ones who robbed Qin family's wife of her property!"
"I saw it too!"
"Me too!"
The crowd started to buzz again. Michael quickly slipped out of the center of the crowd. Just as he was about to leave, a dejected voice called out to him.
"Young man, I am Yu Xiao Gang. The skill you just used, was it your own self-created Spirit Skill?" Yu Xiao Gang walked out from behind the crowd, a hint of excitement in his eyes.
What good luck had he been having these past few days?
First, he met Tang San, a Twin Martial Souls user who lacked social graces, and took him on as a disciple. Then, he encountered this fifteen or sixteen-year-old youth. Although he didn't yet know what Martial Soul the young man possessed, what his Spirit Skills were, or how many Spirit Rings he had… he could tell at a glance that this youth was extraordinary.
Perhaps this time he could trick him into becoming his disciple too!
Michael turned around and was slightly taken aback. Seeing Yu Xiao Gang, he blinked a few times. He naturally knew who Yu Xiao Gang was—Bibi Dong's former lover, and the infamous good-for-nothing of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan… quite famous, actually.
He hadn't expected to run into him here.
