Background / History

Qian Daoliu was meditating within Spirit City's Angel Sanctuary when the Angel Statue conveyed a divine decree: the “Supreme Lord” was about to descend, and he was to find and worship Him. Though puzzled because no prior records mentioned such a being, he immediately began searching. 1

He located Ye Lingtong at Martial Soul Hall after sensing the extraordinary holiness of her evolved Light Element Martial Soul and her two golden God-bestowed Spirit Rings. When Qian Daoliu summoned his own Six-winged Angel Martial Soul, it involuntarily knelt before Ye Lingtong's unborn child. Recognizing Ye Su as the Lord foretold by the Angel God's decree, Qian Daoliu brought Ye Lingtong and her father to the Angel Sanctuary and personally prostrated himself before the unborn deity. 3 4

During Ye Su's birth, he witnessed the descent of an angel whom he recognized as the First Generation Angel God's pre-divine form. Ye Su's proclamation, “Let there be light,” further transformed Qian Daoliu's Angel Martial Soul, deepening its purity and Sacred Attribute. 5

When Ye Su entered a six-year slumber, Qian Daoliu sealed the Angel Sanctuary, barred unauthorized access, and became the infant's personal guardian. He recited scriptures for Ye Su daily and used pure light power to nurture him. During this period, he also arranged teachers and housing near the sanctuary for Ye Lingtong, supporting her rise from Soul Elder to Soul Douluo. 7 8

After Ye Su awakened, he was renamed Michael and appointed as the Lord's spokesperson. Ye Su restored his youth, granted him a tenth golden spirit ring, and ordered him to travel, observe both human goodness and evil, and later return after gaining a child's heart. 10

As Michael, he travelled to Nuoding City in a youthful disguise. There, he acted against a corrupt soul-hunting team, exposed their crimes, and prompted Spirit Hall enforcers and witnesses to bring them to justice. He later accompanied Tang San and Yu Xiao Gang into the Soul Hunting Forest, helping Tang San obtain his first spirit ring from a 423-year-old Mandala Snake. 19 20 21 27

Qian Daoliu originally appeared as an extremely elderly man with white hair and a white beard, seemingly over ninety years old. After Ye Su's blessing, he regained the body of a fifteen- or sixteen-year-old youth. 3 10

Qian Daoliu initially meets the Angel God's decree with uncertainty, as the “Supreme Lord” is absent from the records known to him. Once his Angel Martial Soul kneels before Ye Su, however, his doubt becomes absolute reverence. 1 3

He is deeply devoted to Martial Soul Hall's future and sees Ye Su's arrival as Heaven's blessing upon its ambition to unify the continent. This faith turns into personal loyalty: he seals the Angel Sanctuary, guards Ye Su throughout his slumber, and accepts the name Michael with gratitude. 4 7 10
