Background / History
Ye Lingtong was a 16-year-old girl from a reasonably well-off family living near Spirit City. She and her father were one-ring Spirit Masters who earned their living by selling homegrown Spirit Fruits, while her mother possessed no Spirit Power. Her life changed when she inexplicably became pregnant despite never having been intimate with anyone, exposing her to village gossip and leaving her family in shock 1 2.
After dreaming of a child who proclaimed himself the Supreme Lord and witnessing the creation of the Angel God, she experienced a sudden evolution of her Light Element Martial Soul. She became a three-ring Soul Elder overnight, with a white Spirit Ring and two unprecedented golden rings 1 2. When she attempted to kneel before an Angel Statue in Spirit City's church, the statue shattered; Qian Daoliu later recognized that his Six-winged Angel Spirit was kneeling not to her, but to the unborn child she carried 2 3.
Qian Daoliu brought Ye Lingtong and her father to the Angel Sanctuary, where the Angel God's phantom also knelt before the child in her womb. Ye Su was subsequently born with the assistance of a Six-winged Angel, and the angel's Holy Light healed Ye Lingtong's childbirth injuries completely 4 5.
Though Ye Su called her “Mother” and accepted their blood bond, he entered a six-year slumber shortly after his birth. Ye Lingtong was placed in a residence near the Angel Sanctuary, where Qian Daoliu arranged exceptional teachers for her. During this period, she advanced from Soul Elder to eight-ring Soul Douluo, fought Evil Spirit Masters, and became known among commoners for aiding the poor 6 7 8.
By the time Solomon approached her, Ye Lingtong had become known as the Holy Mother. She supported his belief that humans should no longer gain power by killing Soul Beasts, and accompanied him into the Star Dou Forest to explore a different path based on Spirit Souls and equal contracts 23 24.

Personality
Ye Lingtong remains notably composed amid divine events that would overwhelm most people. When Qian Daoliu abruptly seized her wrist and revealed his identity as the Great Enshrined, she did not struggle or panic, responding with calm caution instead 3.
Her defining quality is compassion. She aided impoverished people and fought Evil Spirit Masters during Ye Su's slumber, gaining public esteem through her deeds 8. In the Star Dou Forest, she immediately treated an injured Moonlight Celestial Wolf rather than regarding it as a source of a Spirit Ring, and she was receptive to Solomon's argument for coexistence between humans and Soul Beasts 23 24.
