Arc 69The Republic Falls

The Duchy of Dawn defeated the Republic at Annaj and Yag'Dhul, while the Republic’s losses weakened Palpatine’s political opposition. Palpatine used the crisis to proclaim the First Galactic Empire, as Tang Xiao weighed the Duchy’s own heavy losses.

  • Laslo Dorit ordered the Republic fleet to bombard Annaj Planet and evacuate, but the planet’s shield came on as the Duchy’s forces closed in and defeated the Republic fleet.
  • James Bond and his team destroyed the Dawn Star System’s Hyperspace Stabilizer, while Gideon Tarkin prepared a renewed campaign in the Modell Sector.
  • Matt Horner and Baher Banak used Yago-Dur’s changing orbit to scatter Gideon Tarkin’s fleet, then launched boarding attacks that captured Republic warships and forced Tarkin to retreat.
  • The Republic lost hundreds of warships across the Modell Sector and Yag'Dhul, while General Grievous’s Tenebrous Titan drove Republic forces back at Saleucami.
  • As the Republic blamed commanders and Kuat Drive Yards for its defeats, Bail Organa and Mon Mothma led more than 2,000 senators in presenting the Petition of 2000 to Palpatine.
  • Palpatine rejected the petition, used the Force to choke Fang Zar, accused the Jedi and their allies of treason, and proclaimed the First Galactic Empire.
  • Tang Xiao watched Palpatine’s speech with Francis Underwood and Helmut Zemo, then reviewed the Duchy’s own severe losses and the damage to Annaj Planet and Yag'Dhul’s production capacity.

Arc 70The Dawn Accord and Its Aftermath

Tang Xiao made peace with Palpatine, helping usher in the Galactic Empire while securing Rendili for the Duchy of Dawn. As the Duchy suppressed unrest and relocated Rendili’s people, the kidnapping of Willix Blythex exposed failures in Tang Xiao’s intelligence services and led him to reorganize them.

  • After heavy losses on Annaj and Dawn Star, Tang Xiao offered Palpatine peace and proposed surrendering the Duchy of Dawn in exchange for an accord that lifted blockades and opened the Rendili trade route.
  • Tang Xiao and Palpatine signed the Dawn Accord on August 9, 20 BBY, and Palpatine declared himself Emperor the next day as the Galactic Republic became the First Galactic Empire.
  • Palpatine consolidated his rule through military and intelligence reorganizations, while Darth Vader’s visits to Naboo coincided with Padmé giving birth to Luke and Leia.
  • Tang Xiao relocated Rendili’s shipyards and began moving its population, while Volgograd-Kanidi faced growing demands for Modell Sector autonomy.
  • Kanidi and Darth Lilim crushed the autonomy movement through arrests, killings, and attacks, after which Tang Xiao ordered civic education and a low-key response to the purge.
  • The Duchy of Dawn attracted millions of Rendili residents to immigrate, and Carl Kestis boarded a passenger liner bound for Annaj as its first official voyage began.
  • Clone Force 99 abducted Willix Blythex from Rendili, evaded local security forces, and escaped in hyperspace, prompting Tang Xiao to order Adele Ulan to recover him.
  • After reviewing intelligence failures that included Willix’s abduction and losing track of Luke Skywalker, Tang Xiao expanded his Intelligence Department and appointed Solomon Lane as minister and Gabriel Tosh as dean of Ghost Academy and deputy minister.

Arc 71Faida’s Fall and the Geth Threat

Tang Xiao reshaped the Duchy of Dawn’s leadership as Peggy Carter began confronting its harsh policies, while immigrants labored to build new settlements. On Faida Planet, the Geth captured and transformed Kriget, Darth Malthael uncovered the black crystal behind the experiment, and the Empire learned that Geth warp travel could threaten the entire galaxy.

  • Tang Xiao recruited Solomon Lane to expose corruption, awakened Peggy Carter, and appointed her to lead the National Security Bureau with Shi Aimin and General Kalani as her deputies.
  • Peggy Carter rejected rule by terror as the bureau’s sole answer and ordered Sonell Planet’s prisoners to reclaim farmland through manual labor.
  • Carl Kestis arrived on Annaj Planet and joined the immigrant workforce building temporary settlements, where he met Ferman and studied ship maintenance in his spare time.
  • The Geth overwhelmed Kriget’s forces on Faida Planet and captured him, while Gillard-Perine organized the planet’s defenses and rose to command its defense front.
  • Pah led a mission to rescue Kriget from an ancient Killik base, but found him transformed into a deadly Corpse Puppet with a black Kyber Crystal.
  • Darth Malthael killed Kriget and the Dark Jedi, discovered that the Geth had used the crystal in their experiment, and encountered a warning from a powerful entity before the base was destroyed.
  • Darth Malthael ordered the Geth research sent to Drai II for joint study, while Gillard Perine mourned Faida Planet’s destruction and sought Imperial support.

  • Sanya Tagge offered Tang Xiao a ransom and a secret route into the Inner Rim, then revealed her terminal illness and asked him to save her.
  • Tang Xiao removed Sanya’s mutated heart and kept her alive, then used Alexia Ashford’s treatment to repair her body while warning that she would need further treatment within 97 standard days.
  • Sanya refused to betray the Tagge family, promised credits and route data, and agreed to return for treatment, while Cassio Tagge stayed in the Duchy to study under Volgograd Kanidi.
  • The first Endless-class Super Carrier, Infinity, completed construction on Semirres Planet and prepared to enter service, while the second and third ships remained unfinished.
