Personality

Hiruzen presents himself as a leader who prioritizes Konoha’s stability over personal disputes. During the Uchiha crisis, he opposes Danzō’s immediate extermination proposal because another war could leave Konoha vulnerable and difficult to justify to the Daimyō. He also initially identifies Uchiha Kazuki as an important member of the clan’s peace faction. 3

His restraint is paired with political calculation and a strong attachment to authority. He privately wishes for the Uchiha’s destruction, blocks their path to the Hokage position, and later admits that he sought a successor who would protect his descendants and that eliminating the Uchiha would benefit the Sarutobi Clan. 3 261
