Background / History
Madara's defining historical relationship is his rivalry with Hashirama Senju. He acquired Hashirama's power after their battle, later awakening the Rinnegan and laying the groundwork for the Moon Eye Plan. He considers himself the only person capable of executing that plan and calls himself the world's savior. 312
During the war, Orochimaru summons Madara through Impure World Reincarnation. Modified by Mu, Madara enters the battlefield with power stated to be at or beyond his former peak, dismissing the gathered shinobi as beneath him. 290
Madara initially dominates Akatsuki members, village elites, and the Kage. He treats the confrontation as entertainment, destroys multiple opponents with minimal effort, and eventually reveals a Perfect Susanoo when Kazuki's clones prove unexpectedly capable. 291 294
His battle with Uchiha Yishū/Kazuki becomes the central obstacle to his plan. Madara repeatedly invites Yishū to join him, regarding him as the only Uchiha besides Hashirama worthy of standing at his side; Yishū repeatedly refuses. 303 312 325
After reviving and restoring both Rinnegan, Madara summons eight Tailed Beasts, transforms their chakra into a giant tree, and ultimately becomes the Ten-Tails' Jinchūriki. Despite his Six Paths power, the combined pressure of Kazuki, Hashirama, Naruto, Sasuke, Minato, and Tobirama leaves him increasingly desperate to complete the Infinite Tsukuyomi. 324 325 328
Madara finally casts the Infinite Tsukuyomi while aided by Ōtsutsuki Hamura's intervention. Immediately afterward, Black Zetsu questions Madara's role and turns against him. 329 330
Appearance
Madara's appearance varies by incarnation and transformation. Kazuki's earlier imitation of his armor should not be confused with Madara himself. 130
- Wields the Uchiha Flame Fan, recovered from Obito during the war. 301
- His restored state possesses dual Rinnegan and Wood Release. 323
- As the Ten-Tails' Jinchūriki, he has white hair, a white robe with black trousers and boots, six dark-red magatama at the collar, nine Truth-Seeking Balls, and a Six Paths Staff. 325
- A distinctive Rinnegan manifests on his forehead when he prepares to activate the Infinite Tsukuyomi. 327
Personality
Madara is intensely arrogant and measures others against his own strength. He dismisses elite shinobi as insignificant, calls battles against them “playing,” and believes only Hashirama—or later Yishū—can truly interest him. 291 303
His confidence is matched by a fixation on control. He rejects Obito as the Moon Eye Plan's rightful executor, insists that his own death is temporary, and pursues resurrection whenever his Impure World Reincarnation limitations prevent him from overpowering Yishū. 301 312 319
Despite his hostility toward Hashirama, Madara retains a personal attachment to their past. He is reluctant to fight Hashirama under Orochimaru's control and later seeks a one-on-one battle to revisit their younger days. 306 324
Abilities & Skills
Sharingan and Susanoo
Madara's ocular prowess gives him exceptional perception and battlefield control. He uses Susanoo at multiple scales, culminating in a Perfect Susanoo against Kazuki's clones.
- Reads and evades attacks with Sharingan perception while counterattacking efficiently. 290
- Uses a massive Susanoo to overwhelm elite shinobi and destroy Kakuzu's hearts. 291
- Summons a Perfect Susanoo after being pushed by Kazuki's clone. 294
- Combines Susanoo weaponry with his own physical and Wood Release attacks. 316
Fire Release
Madara employs overwhelming Fire Release against large groups.
- Fire Style: Great Fire Annihilation clashes with the combined Water and Earth Release of over a hundred elite ninja. 290
- Uses Fire Release as part of his large-scale battlefield suppression. 290
Wood Release
By possessing Hashirama's power, Madara can use Wood Release alongside his Uchiha abilities.
- Creates massive trees capable of restraining Susanoo. 316
- Uses Wood Release: Forest Creation to block Hashirama's Wood Golem. 326
- Regenerates damage rapidly through Hashirama's power. 326
Rinnegan
Madara's Rinnegan grants him techniques beyond his original ocular powers.
- Absorbs ninjutsu, including Naruto's chakra shuriken. 314
- Uses black rods to immobilize Hashirama and attack Sasuke. 311 326
- Employs Almighty Push and Banshō Ten'in in battle against Yishū. 318 327
- Uses Limbo: Border Jail; its hidden clones are ineffective against Yishū, who can perceive them with his own Rinnegan. 320
- His Rinnegan also enables the restoration and execution of his long-prepared plan. 323
Sage Mode
Madara obtains Sage Mode by absorbing Hashirama's Sage power.
- Enhances his physical power enough to block Yishū's charged attack. 312
- Raises him to the point that Yishū and Hashirama must cooperate against him. 312
- Is still constrained by the limitations of his Impure World Reincarnation body before resurrection. 319
Six Paths Power
As the Ten-Tails' Jinchūriki, Madara becomes a Six Paths-level combatant.
- Wields nine Truth-Seeking Balls, which can become shields, blades, and spears. 325 327
- Uses a Six Paths Staff and can fly. 325 327
- Negates or withstands most ordinary attacks; Sage power remains a meaningful threat. 325
- The Petrifying Eye can briefly stiffen him, but cannot fully affect him while he is saturated with Six Paths power. 325 326
Infinite Tsukuyomi
Madara's ultimate objective is to impose the Moon Eye Plan upon the world.
- Requires his Ten-Tails Jinchūriki state and forehead Rinnegan. 325 327
- Successfully envelops the world in the Infinite Tsukuyomi. 329
