As everyone knows, a Saint's Primordial Spirit is entrusted to the Heavenly Dao, making them immortal. Although Jieyin and Zhunti were killed, their Primordial Spirits would be reborn through the power of the Heavenly Dao before long.
However, the price was not small. Each resurrection required the Heavenly Dao to extract Merit, which made the already impoverished Jieyin and Zhunti even worse off.
After killing Jieyin and Zhunti, Xuan Yi's rage did not subside; instead, it intensified.
Xuan Yi directly communicated with the Heavenly Dao using his divine sense, learned where the two would be resurrected, and instantly appeared at their resurrection spot.
After hundreds of years of waiting, Jieyin and Zhunti were finally resurrected one after another.
"Damn Xuan Yi! How dare he kill us, causing us to lose so much Merit!"
"Even our cultivation shows signs of decline. We are irreconcilable with you!"
As soon as Jieyin and Zhunti were resurrected, they began to curse Xuan Yi. Not only had they borrowed Merit from the Heavenly Dao for their resurrection, but the damage from the God-Slaying Spear had also caused their cultivation to show signs of decline.
But before the two could recover, a beam of light that pierced the heavens struck them down once more.
The newly resurrected pair returned to the spring to wait for the countdown.
And so, Xuan Yi would kill Jieyin and Zhunti after they resurrected, repeating the cycle.
Zhunti: Sigh! I'm alive! The next second, a spear light flashed. Zhunti: Ah! I'm dead again!
Jieyin: Ai! I'm alive too! Another spear light flashed. Jieyin: Ah! I'm dead too!
Xuan Yi waited by the spring for a full several thousand years, killing Jieyin and Zhunti more than ten times before turning to leave.
The main reason was that the Heavenly Dao had spoken, stating that the two still had a use. If Xuan Yi continued to kill them, Jieyin and Zhunti would fall from their Saintly positions.
If the six Saints of the Heavenly Dao were incomplete, it would also affect the Heavenly Dao.
Even so, Jieyin and Zhunti had suffered greatly.
The God-Slaying Spear specifically damaged Primordial Spirits and could also sever a Saint's cultivation. After being killed by Xuan Yi more than ten times, their cultivation was now only at the first level of Saint, and it was unstable.
If Xuan Yi killed them one more time, he would probably truly knock Jieyin and Zhunti down from their Saintly positions.
The Heavenly Dao also saw that their Saintly positions were about to be lost, which was why it stopped Xuan Yi.
After a hurried hundred years, Jieyin and Zhunti were resurrected again.
As soon as they opened their eyes, they quickly checked if Xuan Yi was still there. Seeing that Xuan Yi had already left, they could no longer hold back their tears.
Tears streamed down their faces. Xuan Yi was too much of a bully, killing them more than ten times.
When they thought about the Merit they owed for their resurrection, they wished they were dead.
The Merit required for each resurrection was immense, and now they owed double the debt to the Heavenly Dao.
But they dared not linger any longer, fearing that Xuan Yi might make a surprise return.
Wiping their tears, they flew towards Spiritual Mountain, and then closed the gates of Spiritual Mountain, not daring to come out for tens of thousands of years.
During the time Xuan Yi was by the spring, the Human Race also experienced rapid development.
After Xuan Yi left, Nuwa calculated that Fuxi's opportunity had arrived. She went to the Underworld and handed Fuxi's true spirit to Great Peng, allowing Fuxi to reincarnate into the Human Race.
In a human tribe in the East Sea, there was a woman named Huaxu Shi. This tribe revered women, and Huaxu Shi was the daughter of the tribal leader.
To the south of the tribe was a Thunder Marsh, where a thunder god was rumored to reside. Huaxu Shi had always been very curious about it.
One day, the mist covering the Thunder Marsh suddenly dissipated. Huaxu Shi seized the opportunity to sneak over.
Upon reaching the Thunder Marsh, Huaxu Shi saw a giant footprint. Curious, she stepped into it. Unexpectedly, a spiritual light flew out and entered Huaxu's abdomen.
Not long after, Huaxu became pregnant. When the tribal members heard Huaxu's experience, they worried that what Huaxu carried was a monster and were very frightened, so they drove Huaxu out of the tribe.
Driven out of the tribe, Huaxu had nowhere to go and built a reed hut by the Wei River to live.
Pregnant Huaxu was unable to work, feared attacks from wild beasts, and worried about not being able to give birth safely. In her despair, tears flowed like a river.
Perhaps it was the Heavenly Dao's compassion, but a Kirin flew over, carrying fruits and other food in its mouth.
Huaxu was initially very scared, but she realized that the Kirin would leave after delivering the food, so she felt at ease.
Thus, under the Kirin's care, Huaxu lived for twelve years and six months before finally giving birth to a baby boy.
When the baby boy was born, the sky was filled with auspicious clouds, and a strange fragrance emanated from him.
The boy could walk as soon as he was born and could speak as soon as he opened his eyes.
Huaxu named the boy Fuxi. When the tribal members heard of this, they knew a sage had descended and sent people to bring Huaxu and Fuxi back.
Just as the tribesmen were bringing Fuxi and his mother back, an unusual phenomenon occurred in the heavens and earth. Purple qi came from the east for thirty thousand miles, and a golden light descended from the void.
Then, a white-robed old man riding a green ox and an ordinary-looking young man appeared before everyone.
The newcomers were Taishang Laozi and the Great Master Xuandu.
As a Saint and the leader of the Human Religion, Taishang was already famous throughout the Primordial Chaos, with statues of Laozi erected in every tribe.
Therefore, everyone recognized him as a Saint's arrival and immediately prostrated themselves in greeting.
"We pay our respects to the Saint. May the Saint be blessed with eternal peace!"
Laozi waved his hand gently, helping everyone to their feet.
"This humble Taoist has come for Fuxi today. This child has a master-disciple connection with my disciple!"
Laozi's words further confirmed for everyone that Fuxi was a great sage reincarnated.
Under the meticulous care of the Human Race, Fuxi grew to adulthood in the blink of an eye.
When Fuxi turned twenty, Xuandu once again came to the Human Race, taking Fuxi to travel all over their lands.
When they returned, Fuxi was already over fifty years old.
Having cultivated with Xuandu for thirty years, Fuxi had also grown significantly.
Under his leadership, the Human Race established social order, invented fishing nets, and domesticated fierce beasts for their use.
As Fuxi's prestige grew, countless tribes merged, jointly recommending Fuxi to become their leader.
From then on, the Human Race developed rapidly under Fuxi's guidance, but new problems arose.
As the Human Race developed faster and faster, the population also grew rapidly, leading to many people starving. Furthermore, natural disasters like earthquakes and tsunamis occurred frequently, causing many of the Human Race to perish.
Fuxi was also troubled by this and began to desperately search for a solution.
Nuwa, having calculated that it was time for Fuxi to return to his position, hurried out.
Unexpectedly, she ran right into Xuan Yi, who had just returned from blocking someone's path.
Xuan Yi had just returned and hadn't even had time to go back to his Dao Field when he saw Nuwa rushing out.
"Xuan Yi, my elder brother is at a critical juncture in his path to enlightenment and needs the River Luo Diagram to assist him. Hurry, hurry, come with me to the North Sea!"
Seeing Nuwa's anxious state, Xuan Yi was amused. With a chuckle, he said, "Don't rush, Wa'er. I'll accompany you!"
