Background / History

Xuan Yi originated when the Primordial Chaos Bead absorbed the essence blood shed by Hongjun, Yang Mei, and Luohu during their battle, then merged with a fragment of the Jade Disc of Creation. The bead gained the consciousness of Hong Luo, a man from the 21st century. Hongjun regarded the newborn being as his son and named him Xuan Yi. 1

Hongjun personally helped Xuan Yi assume human form, taught him the Primordial Chaos Grand Unity cultivation method, and armed him with major spiritual treasures. Because his true form is the Primordial Chaos Bead, spiritual treasures accept his power and refine themselves with unusual ease. 2 3

After ten thousand years of cultivation, Xuan Yi mastered the Law of Space to its fifth level and comprehended the Laws of Time and Space together to the sixth level. Hongjun then allowed him to leave Jade Capital Mountain with Haotian and Yaochi as attendants, plus an Incarnation Talisman that could summon Hongjun in an emergency. 4

Xuan Yi later learned that the Heavenly Dao is one of his parents through the Jade Disc of Creation fragment. Yang Mei was revealed as another father, while Luohu—still alive as the ruler of the Outer Realm Demonic Cult—provided the final bloodline. Xuan Yi is fiercely protective of Nuwa, his family, and Xuanmen. Xuan Yi's first journey through the Primordial World establishes his extraordinary treasure affinity. He meets the Sanqing, inspires them to begin their own travels, acquires the Twelve-grade World-Destroying Black Lotus, and encounters Nuwa on Buzhou Mountain. 4 5 6
