Classification
| Dungeon Type | Defining Conditions | Consequences |
|---|---|---|
| Order Dungeon | Governed by strict Dungeon Order rules and assigned NPC functions. | Rule violations can trigger punishment or erasure; NPCs follow a defined hierarchy and division of labor. 641 651 695 |
| Discarded Dungeon | Abandoned by Order after collapse or loss of control. Eerie phenomena run rampant. | Generally lacks a Main Quest and is used as a hellish place to eliminate Players. 306 423 641 |
| Perfect Dungeon | A welfare map created when Order judges that a Player has achieved a Perfect Score and can no longer be meaningfully challenged. | No elimination or death; rewards and Easter eggs become available to seize, though a Main Quest still leads onward. 641 692 |
| Semi-Perfect; Semi-Collapsed Dungeon | A hybrid state in which human Players hold power while Dungeon Order has collapsed. | Entering Players retain their Tool Bars, Talents, and privileges only outside the domains controlled by the Dungeon’s rulers. 781 782 |
| Timeline Dungeon | A Dungeon reconstructed from a Player’s memories, with its setting altered to a designated difficulty. | May contain alternate progression, Time Eerie Slaves, branching Doors, and repeated starting positions. 1124 1128 1145 |
Rule Governance
Dungeon Order determines the structure, rules, and personnel of an Order Dungeon. NPC rank reflects assigned function rather than absolute combat strength. 651
| NPC Designation | Typical Function |
|---|---|
| Lv. 1 | Disposable NPCs that cannot participate in Side Quests. |
| Lv. 2–3 | NPCs assigned to Side Quests. |
| Lv. 4–5 | NPCs assigned to Main Quests, hidden quests, and Easter eggs. |
| Fiend / Calamity | Bosses of Side Quests and hidden quests. |
| Dungeon Ruler / Final Calamity | Final Boss of the Main Quest and nominal ruler of the Dungeon. |
A Player impersonating an NPC remains constrained by the role’s level rules and Dungeon Order. Serious violations can result in the role being erased, which means true elimination if the Player has no replacement Role-Playing Card. 653 695
Some Dungeons delegate control to a core NPC. The Undead Hospital’s Eerie Dean, for example, was designated as its Main Storyline Boss. 120
Quests and Completion
| Quest Element | Function |
|---|---|
| Main Quest | The central clear condition of a Dungeon. It may offer standard and perfect completion routes with different rewards. 37 |
| Side Quest | Optional or parallel objectives that can reveal information, provide rewards, or intersect with the Main Quest. 37 |
| Hidden Main Quest | A concealed route that can alter the Dungeon’s intended operation; clearing one may corrupt a hidden NPC or cause a major deviation. 305 |
| Dungeon Strategy Guide | A progress measure tied to uncovering and clearing a Dungeon’s content. Ji Yan raised the Eerie Food Tower’s guide progress to 12% despite its collapse. 320 |
| Perfect Score | A result that can cause Order to redesignate the Dungeon as Perfect, reducing danger and exposing its reward pool. 692 |
Clearing a Main Quest can provide a Gate Key, treasure chests, Eerie Power, expanded Tool Bar capacity, and improved panel functions. 50 137
Entry, Exit, and Matching
- New Players may be forcibly matched into a Dungeon when its Player count falls to a minimum threshold. 51
- Clearing a Dungeon normally matches a Player to another Dungeon; Ji Yan’s selected wish at Crimson Apartment’s conclusion resulted in a match with Undead Hospital. 51
- An Apartment Door Key can mark a cleared Dungeon as a stronghold. A marked Dungeon functions as a save point: a Player who dies in a later Dungeon may return there while retaining their prior progress. 37 50
- The Roaming God Privilege allows a Black Chess Piece to match into Dungeons below Tier 8 and receive a basic NPC Role-Playing Card. 649
- Dungeon Doors can present multiple selectable Dungeon themes and tiers to eligible Players. Ji Yan was offered nine Dungeons ranging from Tier 1 to Tier 7. 652
- A complete Dungeon Key Fragment can open a dungeon passage, bypass the Main Quest, clear the Dungeon, and grant treasure-chest rewards. 435 436
Collapse and Deterioration
A Dungeon can collapse when its rules, NPCs, or core storyline fall out of Order’s control. The collapse of 444 Asylum caused its Dungeon Order to break down and led to its designation as a Discarded Dungeon. 725
- Ambitious NPCs can be driven out of control and begin widespread rule-breaking destruction, accelerating collapse. 664
- A collapsed Dungeon may still retain a malfunctioning Game Panel, even after its Main Quest NPC has been erased or made inaccessible. 320
- Discarded Dungeons remain useful to Order as containment and elimination zones for Players. 423
- Separate Dungeons can collide despite Order normally keeping their settings isolated. The collapse of Eerie Tales Ancient City transferred its Players into the Phantom Roaming Ghost Train. 1200
- A Dungeon may possess self-awareness; the Black Triangle Ghost Ship attempts to turn everyone aboard into drowned-eerie crew members. 1182
