Background / History

The Burning Death Eerie was killed by divine lightning while standing beneath a tree. Its resentment was absorbed by a fallen piece of lightning strike wood, turning it into a Tier 7 Grudge Eerie. The Deformed Eye Ruin Master used this resentment object to command and imprison it as a reserve weapon in the Infinite Maze. 398

It was dispatched to kill the severely injured Ji Yan, believing that Ji Yan's head would purchase its freedom. Ji Yan later acquired its lightning strike wood, granting him command over the Eerie rather than destroying it outright. 397 430

Its relationship with Ji Yan began as compulsory service and mutual hostility. It repeatedly complained about being summoned, demanded compensation for dangerous work, and refused to help when it believed Ji Yan had treated it unfairly. Yet it continued fighting beside him when their survival was mutually dependent. 452 454 470 626

Ji Yan eventually betrayed the Tier 7 Burning Death Eerie in a deal with a Tier 9 Burning Death Eerie, offering the former as food in exchange for protection. Shortly afterward, a Burning Death Eerie identified as Brother Electric received the Tier 9 Eerie's heart from Ji Yan, enabling its eventual rise to Tier 9. 757 758 937

The Burning Death Eerie is loud, sarcastic, and foul-mouthed. It regularly mocks Ji Yan, protests being summoned early or forced to work overtime, and reacts with panic when confronted by enemies beyond its tier. 463 524 937

Despite its cowardice, it is prideful about its Tier 7 and later Tier 9 strength. It becomes notably arrogant when fighting weaker Eeries, but its confidence quickly collapses when it encounters conceptual abilities, overwhelming enemies, or threats that can bypass its electrical attacks. 476 662 962 1136
