Fulgrim paused for a moment, then recognized him as the Chapter Master of the Sons of the Phoenix—Saul, who had once claimed to be Rogal Dorn's son but was in truth his own Primarch Prime son.

The Clone Primarch felt ashamed and faintly irritated at having exposed a vulnerable side of himself before his son.

If he were the real Fulgrim, he should have drawn his blade and swiftly, cleanly cut off Saul's head as punishment for seeing his imperfect side.

Fulgrim had indeed done exactly that.

Fulgrim could see it in his memories: Fulgrim had swung his sword in precisely that manner and severed Eidolon's head.
