The Hive Mind shrieked sharply, cursing The Emperor's design of the primarchs for being excessively masculine.

At the genetic level, primarchs were mutually incompatible. They were like ferocious beasts that claimed the stars as their territory; if one of their brothers entered their domain and collided with them, conflict would almost certainly erupt. It was nearly impossible for one primarch to command another.

To the Hive Mind, such a design was utterly crude. Yet the primarchs' genetic sequences were so complex that even the Hive Mind found them difficult to process, and it could not repair this flaw anytime soon.

In the Warp, Nobita Emperor smiled faintly, his nose lifting slightly, as though the Hive Mind were praising him rather than cursing him.

"I didn't want my enemies to be able to use my primarchs directly if they picked them up on a battlefield," he said rather proudly.

He was not joking when he said that. This truly was why he had designed the primarchs to be so excessively masculine. Excessive masculinity had been built into their genetic instincts alongside their father-complex.

Every primarch was a male among males. Compared to primarchs, even the most testosterone-filled Astartes could only be considered female. Without The Emperor's suppression, without the control of their father-complex instincts, primarchs could scarcely achieve genuine cooperation or submit to any singular will.

Half the primarchs rebelling had been inevitable. The Emperor had designed them this way precisely so that the half that rebelled could not unite, so they would consume and crush each other from within. Even if the Chaos Gods corrupted the primarchs, they would struggle to control them.

Unexpectedly, after ten thousand years, this design had once again tripped up the Tyranid Swarm.
