Plumber Uncle Ben
"This is for you."
Ben placed the medicine on the table, then looked into Uncle Ben's eyes and said...
Uncle Ben and Aunt May were both stunned. His eyebrows and eyelashes, which had turned silvery-gray due to his age, and the spiral-like wrinkles around his eyes, fully expressed his bewilderment.
Of course, more than anything, he felt that this thing was far too precious for him.
The two old people raised Peter and Ben with great care and hardship. Over the years, they never spent much money on themselves, leaving all the good things for Ben and Peter.
Over time, even if something incredibly precious were placed before them, their first thought would still be of the children.
"This is too precious... Your Aunt May and I are already two old men and women," he said, glancing at Aunt May, Aunt May a little unhappy about being called an old woman.
She glared at Uncle Ben: "I'm not fifty yet, I'm only forty-nine!"
But he looks like he's already fifty-five.
Uncle Ben thought this to himself, but of course he wouldn't say it out loud.
Regardless, neither of them felt it was necessary to waste such an expensive item on themselves.
We are not worth it.
"You certainly deserve it!" Ben said, shaking his head.
"This is what I prepared especially for you. As for Peter and me..." Ben elbowed his cellmate and said, "Come on, Xiao Liang... no, Peter, give them a job!"
Peter paused for a moment, then jumped up and stuck one hand to the ceiling.
Uncle Ben and Aunt May exchanged glances, wondering what he was doing.
"That's not enough. Go clean up the cobwebs in that corner over there."
So Peter simply hung upside down from the ceiling, crawled to the corner like a spider, and used his fingers to clean up the spiderweb.
Now Uncle Ben and Aunt May finally knew Peter's true identity.
"OMG!" Aunt May cried out in horror, covering her face, "You're Spider-Man!"
"Yes, I am Spider-Man."
Peter jumped down.
He didn't know why Ben changed his mind and decided to tell Uncle Ben and Aunt May his true identity, but in his opinion, Ben was always right.
He isn't!
In his mind, Venom immediately retorted.
Peter waved his hand as if shooing away a fly.
Then he saw Aunt May rush up to him in terror, grab his shoulders, and scrutinize him from head to toe, leaving no corner unexamined.
"Good lad, you're Spider-Man!"
After his initial shock, Uncle Ben quickly smiled, pointed at Peter, and said approvingly, "I knew it. Where else could such a fine young man come from but my nephew?"
"Well done, Peter. You've put your skills to good use."
"Thank you, Uncle Ben."
Peter was pleased to have his family's approval and tilted his head, winking at them.
But soon, Aunt May straightened his head.
The only woman in the house was brewing her anger. "It's not good at all!"
"My nephew is Spider-Man?! This is insane!" Aunt May looked like she was about to break down. Peter tried to comfort her, but Aunt May said with a look of difficulty breathing, "Oh my God!"
"Oh my god!"
"So you spend all your time fighting terrorists with bombs, getting injured by their bombs, covered in wounds from being scratched by green monsters, and dealing with aliens?!"
"Uh..." Peter didn't know what to say. He grabbed Aunt May's hands to prevent her from collapsing, then looked pleadingly at Ben and Uncle Ben, and even Harry.
Seeing this, Uncle Ben immediately came over and helped her up.
"Alright, May, our nephew's doing great. We should be happy for him, not the ones stopping him. Besides, don't you think Spider-Man is pretty good?"
"That's because I didn't know the person under the mask was my nephew!"
Aunt May already had a lot of grievances and anger that she had nowhere to vent, and she didn't want to take it out on the children, so she turned her anger on Uncle Ben.
You actually support him!
"I'm asking you, what if Peter hurt?"
"Do you know how many times the newspapers have reported Spider-Man's injuries, and how many times the Daily Bugle has confidently declared that Spider-Man is dead and will never return?"
Her eyes were red-rimmed, and her barrage of questions left Uncle Ben speechless.
"Wait," Peter squeezed in between the two, saying, "To be honest, every time Jameson reports Spider-Man's death, I'm just sitting at home doing nothing. Besides, all the Daily Bugle's reports about Spider-Man are fake news."
"But what if?"
Aunt May countered with a question.
What if Spider-Man really dies?
"What will happen to my nephew if Spider-Man really dies?"
"Who can give my nephew back to me?"
She gazed at Peter, her tone calmer but still powerful, leaving Peter bewildered.
This power is called: Mother.
The source of everything is love.
Ben slowly walked towards her, gently hugged her, and said, "Don't worry, Aunt May."
"I won't let anything happen to Peter. I've prepared the most advanced equipment for him, enough to handle any situation."
Hearing his words, Aunt May calmed down a little, and she breathed a long sigh of relief, as if she could finally breathe again.
Ben has always been more reliable than Peter, so his words carry more weight.
Even when a naughty child makes a promise to their parents, it is always difficult to convince them.
Peter wasn't naughty; he was just too cowardly in the past. Therefore, in Aunt May's mind, Peter should be the one who needed to be protected, not the one who protected others.
He gets hurt, he cries, and he feels lost when faced with problems.
But Ben is different.
He always manages to do better.
Even so, Aunt May has no intention of backing down on this matter.
"I haven't even had a chance to say anything to you yet! Peter is Spider-Man, and what about you? I don't believe you haven't done anything dangerous!"
In reality, it was Ben who was the naughty child.
He's at least a very brave child.
"I'm a very good Aunt May. Although I'm Hacker Spider-Man, I rarely take action. I prefer to do research in my office."
"Really?" Aunt May looked at him suspiciously.
You should know that Ben started fighting when he was a child, and he beat up all the classmates who tried to bully Peter at school.
Now he's saying he likes being in the lab?
Aunt May always found it absurd.
But then she thought about it again. Ben had built a company and invented so many things during this time, and Hacker Spider-Man had hardly appeared at all, which made her think that maybe what Ben said was true.
So she nodded and said:
"Okay, you pass!"
Upon seeing this, Peter's eyes widened.
He felt a tremendous sense of injustice; after all, what Ben had done was far more dangerous than what he had done. He immediately, like the other twin, began to complain:
"He went way too far than me!"
"He said he was going on a trip, but he actually went to another planet, helped the people of that planet overthrow a tyrant, and became king himself!"
Aunt May:???
Ben:...
Ben glared at Peter.
Seeing his expression, Aunt May knew it was true.
She felt a wave of dizziness.
She initially thought Peter was already incredibly brave, helping his neighbors and fighting crime in the community, but she never imagined there would be a winner who became the king of the planet in just one month?
Whose subordinate is this?
He's my nephew!
In short, I absolutely will not allow you to continue doing dangerous things!
Aunt May said sternly.
At this point, neither Peter nor Uncle Ben knew what to say.
Needless to say, Harry had already been watching the show from the sidelines.
Only Ben comforted her, saying, "Aunt May, we're just doing what we have to do. It's not because the world needs me, but because this family needs me, that I'm doing it."
"If we don't eliminate some enemies, our lives will be in chaos."
"Like Hydra, what would happen if they completed Project Insight? Peter and I are both on the Insight List, people they want to eliminate."
"And then there's Thanos, that Purple Little Boy who invaded Earth this time. He wants to wipe out half of all life in the universe. Who will survive? Who will be able to live?"
He hugged Aunt May and whispered, "I don't want to be killed by him, and I don't want to watch you disappear before our eyes."
Those who survive always suffer more.
Then Peter and Uncle Ben joined in, and the family hugged each other. Only Harry felt a little out of place being there.
After a while, Aunt May finally relented.
She said, "Okay, I agree that you can continue being Super Hero..."
Peter turned his head and said to Uncle Ben, "Usually, there's a 'but' following this."
"But..."
Aunt May said sternly, "Someone has to keep an eye on you!"
"What's the meaning?"
Peter was stunned, and even Ben was taken aback.
Then I heard Aunt May and Uncle Ben say matter-of-factly, "Of course we can't just watch the two of you... three of you underage save the world."
They didn't forget to include Harry in the count.
"But I'm Spider-Man," Peter said.
"I conquered a planet!" Ben also said.
"That's because they're minors."
Aunt May said in an unyielding tone, "Perfect timing, we don't have to work now, and perfect timing, Benny, you brought three bottles of Super Soldier Serum, so..."
Uncle Ben picked up the conversation. "So why can't we be Super Hero?"
He looked eager to try.
So much so that Ben wasn't sure whether Uncle Ben genuinely wanted to supervise him and Peter, or simply admired Captain America and wanted to become a Captain-like figure.
"Okay, now tell me, what forms do I need to fill out to join H.A.M.M.E.R.. or that Avengers thing?"
"Or do they only hire people under 35? That's not good. I was laid off because I was too old..."
Upon hearing this, Ben laughed.
"No, we are not the Avengers."
"We are Plumbers from the Galactic Plumbers."
