Infinity War (I)
Did he seize the Infinity Stones before Thanos?
The others, upon hearing this, thought it seemed like a good idea.
However, T'Challa asked with doubt, "We only had one Infinity Stone before, and it already attracted Thanos's covetousness. If we collect all the Stones, wouldn't Thanos be even more eager to conquer Earth and take all the Stones?"
His worry was that all their hard work in collecting the gems would only benefit Thanos.
Upon hearing this, Hawkeye shook his head.
"If we get beaten up when we don't have the gems, and we still get beaten up after we find them, then what's the point of finding the gems?"
Captain Jia's credentials are still increasing!
"Agent Barton is right." Ben nodded in agreement, then continued, "The Infinity Stones possess immense power; otherwise, Thanos wouldn't have gone to such lengths to obtain them."
"I know that many of you may not know much about the Infinity Stones, Eunice."
"Yes, sir."
Ben slid the Galactic Plumbers Badge in his hand to the center of the table, and then, after Eunice's reply, a dazzling scene unfolded before everyone's eyes like a movie documentary.
Then Ben slowly began to explain to them the formation of gemstones and the evolution of the universe.
"The Infinity Stones were forged from the essence of six singularities that contained Infinite Energy before the Big Bang."
As he spoke, the images projected by Eunice changed. After a massive explosion, six Primal Stones, each shimmering with a different brilliance, were born and shot off in different directions across the universe.
"Time, space, mind, power, reality, and Soul Stone." Ben described the existence of the gems one by one, "Possessing just one grants immense power within the domain of that gem. And the one who possesses all the gems is worthy to be called a god in this universe."
Ben's hand passed through the images, and to everyone's astonishment, he grasped the illusory gems in his hand.
The six gems form an Infinity circuit like Mobius Ring, with energy flowing between them in layers. Each gem provides energy to the next gem on the circuit, enabling it to unleash its full power.
"Because of its infinite energy, after its discovery, it was possessed and used by different races and forces. The Cosmic Cube was originally placed on Earth by the Asgardian until Hydra discovered it."
"Since the power of the gem is so powerful, why don't those people from the gods use it instead of storing it on the earth?" Natasha asked doubtfully.
Upon hearing this, everyone looked at Ben. They all knew that Ben and Loki had a good relationship, so they thought he might know some inside information.
Ben explained.
"Because the Asgardian are so powerful that they don't need the power of the gems."
"Asgard's most powerful period was thousands of years ago, when Odin and his daughters conquered the universe and were far more formidable enemies than Thanos."
"The Bifrost can take them anywhere within the Nine Realms, so the Space Stone is just a double-edged sword to him. It's precious, but useless."
"Later, perhaps Odin foresaw that the power of the stones would bring disaster, so he placed them on Earth, in what they call Midgard. It's as remote as Delaware..."
Even the few native-born, true-blue United States present were taken aback when they heard the name before realizing that Ben to Delaware.
"That's indeed very remote..."
Captain America sighs.
Rather than being remote, it's more accurate to say it lacked presence; at least before Tony started the Super Hero saga, Earth was just a small, rural place in the universe.
After learning about the origin and power of the Cosmic Cube, everyone understood why the gems were so valuable and why Thanos went to such lengths to collect them.
"So, what we need to do is find the remaining four Ingots and bring them back. Once that's done, we can easily eliminate any threat."
T'Challa gradually came to understand everything.
But Ben shook his head.
Is something wrong?
"Two points. First, we don't need to find all the gems."
Ben explained, "We currently have two stones, the Space Stone and the Mind Stone, but actually, the Time Stone is also on Earth, only it's being guarded by someone else, and it's safe with her."
Even if Thanos ten times the courage, he still couldn't get the Time Stone from the Ancient One.
Unless the Ancient One willingly gives up the gem.
"This means that we only have three Infinity Stones to fight Thanos for: Power, Soul Stone, and Reality."
There are actually only two.
Ben doesn't plan to touch the Soul Stone for the time being.
That gem has come to possess its own Soul Stone and wisdom; anyone who desires it must first offer the Soul Stone of their most beloved.
On the final scales, only Soul Stone are equal in Soul Stone.
Of course, just because he didn't take it doesn't mean Thanos wouldn't.
The fact that the Infinity Stones fell into Thanos's hands is actually a huge hidden danger. The strength of the Infinity Stones cannot be determined solely by the number of them possessed.
Just like in the movie "What If," Thanos, who possessed multiple Infinity Stones, was instantly Thanos Ultron, who only possessed one.
However, this is the best approach if we disregard any sacrifices.
Moreover, at this point in time, Thanos did not yet know the location of the Soul Stone.
Only Gamora knew that the Soul Stone was actually on a planet Vormir, with a lonely, evil Soul Stone by its side.
It's highly unlikely that Gamora would tell Thanos about the Soul Stone.
Therefore, Ben's goals have always been only two:
Power and reality.
The Reality Stone, also known as the Aether Particle, was sealed away by Asgard thousands of years ago. However, with the resonance between the gems, all the gems will awaken, and it is believed that the Aether Particle will appear soon.
Ben didn't need to explain these details to them.
"Secondly, even if we possess six gems, it would be difficult to use them against all enemies. The power of the gems is immense; ordinary people would be instantly reduced to ashes simply by touching them."
After saying that, Ben glanced at everyone and said, "Don't doubt it, I'm talking about you."
"We're not ordinary people," T'Challa said, displeased.
"They're all the same."
Ben said casually.
He wasn't looking down on anyone there; it was just the truth.
Under the divine, all beings are equal.
"Alright, let's talk about how to find the Infinity Stones," Captain America said, ending this self-humiliating conversation.
Our primary objective is the Power Stone.
Ben provided solid intelligence.
He snapped his fingers, and immediately all the images vanished like smoke, leaving only a purple gem and a complex gray-black sphere.
"The Power Stone, also known as the Universal Orb, is the most widely known in the universe. Many people know clues about it, and it is Thanos's primary target."
"Then we'd better hurry."
"Don't worry, although the Galactic Plumbers is temporarily unable to operate, it has already issued a high-paying commission in the universe. However, to prevent any unforeseen circumstances, I have decided to assemble another team to go to the universe."
Ben said.
There are many mercenaries in the universe who will do anything as long as you pay them.
For example, Yondu and his Ravagers, and the "famous" but little-known space thief—"Star-Lord".
That's what Ben was worried about.
Peter Quill, a man with a godlike physique who rivals mortals, who kicked out Avengers: Endgame, and is the true father of all.
Besides stupid, it's hard to find another word to describe him.
Ben was worried that the commissions he sent out from the Galactic Plumbers might fall into Star-Lord's hands, so he thought of forming a new team to find the Power Stone as a precaution.
Everyone naturally had no objections to the plan.
The only questions are who to send and when to send them.
"I'll pass," Barton said, raising his hand to indicate his withdrawal, followed by Natasha.
Both of them were practically ordinary people, and although they had been injected with the serum, they couldn't match Steve's tenacity.
"I'll join," T'Challa said without hesitation.
He believed that everything in the world was connected, and that everything was inextricably linked to Wakanda.
"Of course I'll join."
It's Steve Rogers.
"And you?" the soldier asked.
He wanted to know what role Ben was planning to play this time.
"Of course I'll participate too."
Ben said.
Since it involves the Infinity Stones, Ben will be quite concerned. If something goes wrong and the Power Stone falls into Thanos's hands, that would be bad news.
Besides the three of them, whether other Avengers members should join is still under discussion.
At least Ben adhered to the principle of voluntariness.
Having too many people isn't necessarily a good thing; some might not be of any use and could even hinder the process.
"Then, shall we adjourn?"
Natasha asked tentatively.
"Meeting adjourned? We're not finished yet!" Ben rolled his eyes at her. "The Infinity Stones are just the first step. Don't forget our ultimate goal: to destroy Thanos."
With that, Ben waved his hand, and Eunice projected Thanos's power.
"Thanos's power is immense. Although he suffered a defeat last time, for the Chitauri, producing a few casualties is just a matter of minutes. Besides, his Black Order is the real main force..."
Ben introduced Thanos's forces to everyone one by one, and finally, the screen stopped on an alien with blue skin and a alien with green skin.
"Besides the Black Order, Thanos also has two children."
"Nebula and Gamora..."
--
"... So you're back."
On the Void Throne, Thanos bent down and looked at his two daughters whom he had not seen for a long time.
Nebula was bound tightly, curled up like a dumpling on the cold, jagged black rock, her eyes filled with fear as she looked at Thanos.
"Father..."
