Psyphon: Loki's Greatest Virtue Is Loyalty
Malekith looked at Loki, whose body had turned blue, and a puzzled expression appeared on his face.
He could tell at a glance that Loki wasn't Asgardian; he was a Frost Giant. Yet, Loki insisted he was the son of Odin, the King of Asgard.
What does this mean?
Is he deceiving himself?
Or perhaps, the current Goddess Queen of Gods has cuckolded the King of Gods?
"Are you kidding me?" Malekith thought the idea in his head was utterly absurd. How could the God King of Asgard not recognize whether his own child was his own?
His gaze toward Loki turned dangerous, as if he were about to take Loki's life at any moment.
Loki, however, was not afraid.
All of this was within his calculations.
"I am Odin's child, but not his biological son. My father is Laufey, the King of the Frost Giants. Thousands of years ago, Odin suppressed Jotunheim and brought me, a child, to Asgard," Loki explained.
Malekith's expression finally changed.
"That's interesting. Bor's son actually took in the son of the King of the Frost Giants. Could it be that the giants of Jotunheim have completely submitted to Asgard?"
Although Asgard rules the Nine Realms, the relationships between each of the Nine Realms are actually quite delicate.
Aside from the Vanir, the Light Elf Elves, and the Dwarves, the other kingdoms were not entirely subservient to Asgard, and countless wars were fought between them.
For example, the former Heaven was banished into the Void because it launched a war against Asgard.
The realms of giants, Dark Elf, and Fire Demon have always been at odds with Asgard, each wanting to overthrow Asgard and make their own realm the master of the Nine Realms.
But now Odin has broken this relationship and taken in the prince of the Frost Giant.
Could it be that the relationship between Asgard Jotunheim has become very good now?
Malekith began to ponder.
If that's the case, then he really needs to be careful. Those giants are also quite powerful; several ordinary Dark Mage wouldn't be enough to defeat them.
"He'd like to," Loki chuckled, as if to say, "That old fox Odin has a good idea," his tone full of disdain for the other.
"He truly hopes to make me a bridge of peace between Jotunheim and Asgard; he intends for me to become the king of Jotunheim," Loki exclaimed, his expression turning angry and ferocious.
"Why should I!"
"I have absolutely no desire to go to that godforsaken place and lead a bunch of barbarians who can't even dress properly as a worthless king!"
"Oh?"
Malekith released Loki's neck at some point, watching with amusement as Loki cursed Odin with a venomous expression.
Loki is a typical histrionic personality, perfectly portraying himself as a jealous yet powerless down-on-his-luck prince. Or perhaps it wasn't even acting, because that was how he used to be.
He paced back and forth in front of Malekith, cursing and swearing. He had already placed the Casket of Ancient Winters on the ground, and his skin color had returned to normal.
"Does he think I'll follow his orders? In his eyes, I'm nothing more than a tool to maintain his rule over the Nine Realms!"
"My abilities are far superior!"
"But he only favors his foolish son! He even wants to hand over Asgard to that idiot to rule! Even though he has lost his divine power and is now less than a mortal, he is still the destined king of Asgard!"
His nostrils flared with rage, and at the same time, his gaze fell upon Malekith, ambition instantly replacing anger on his face.
"I'm not willing to serve that foolish brother," he said. "I've consulted the ancient texts and know that you almost dragged the Nine Realms into darkness. If the then- God King Bor hadn't stolen the Aether Particle, the outcome would have been very different."
Loki took a step toward Malekith, tilting his body slightly in a gesture of submission.
I pledge my allegiance to you!
"I will help you conquer the Nine Realms!"
"And what about you? What do you want from me?"
Malekith glanced at him, somewhat tempted.
According to Loki, this kid has a fairly high status in Asgard, after all, he's a prince. Even if he really becomes the God King of Jotunheim, it's equivalent to having a world as a backup.
With him as an inside man, the chances of conquering Asgard and retrieving the Aether Particle would be much greater.
However, he also knew that there was no such thing as loyalty without a reason in this world, and Loki must have his own purpose for daring to come here.
"I want Asgard."
Loki answered without hesitation, "You rule the Nine Realms, but I only want Asgard! I think you need someone to help you manage the Nine Realms."
This proposal was nothing to Malekith; it was essentially Loki becoming one of his kings.
But at that moment, another outsider who had arrived at the same time as Loki spoke up.
"You're lying, Loki."
Psyphon didn't know what Loki was up to, but he knew Loki was in league with the Galactic Plumbers, so Loki was his enemy.
The moment he spoke, Malekith and Loki's eyes fell on him simultaneously.
In fact, Loki had been watching him for a while.
Svartalfheim hadn't seen visitors for millennia, yet Malekith's resurrection has brought such a flurry of activity. This guy who appeared out of nowhere is clearly not normal.
Recalling what his father had told him during his return to Asgard about Jotunheim being completely destroyed, Loki began to have a guess.
"It seems this guy is probably connected to the intruder Heimdall detected."
Loki thought to himself.
And who are you?
Malekith, however, was in no hurry.
Svartalfheim is his stronghold, where his power is immense. Even Bor couldn't kill him, only seal him away. With the presence of the Cursed Warrior, it's fair to say this is his home turf.
He wanted to see what these two groups could offer him, and what they wanted to gain from him.
"I came for my master." Psyphon glanced at Loki, seemingly wary of revealing information, so he didn't explain who his master was.
He pointed at Loki with a sinister glint in his eye and said, "Loki Odinson, you are deceiving the great Dark Elf King. You have already submitted to the Galactic Plumbers, how could you betray Ben Parker, who calls himself King of Sakaar?"
"Galactic Plumbers?"
Malekith frowned slightly, pondering the name in his mind, but clearly without any result.
Clearly, five thousand years has caused some minor changes in the universe. However, he didn't care. As long as it didn't concern the Nine Realms, it wasn't important. What mattered was that if what this person said was true, then Loki was not trustworthy!
He squinted, scrutinizing Loki, waiting for an explanation.
Loki also narrowed his eyes.
Although he joined the Galactic Plumbers and was even one of the highest-ranking Security Officer, he rarely showed his face in space. Usually, it was Caiera and Bill who went out most often for any business.
Clearly, this guy in front of me has a great deal of knowledge about the Galactic Plumbers, and may even be a potential enemy.
However, it would be best to deal with Malekith first. He had already caught a glimpse of the monstrous Cursed Warrior's cruel expression, as if he was ready to kill him for fun.
Loki had no doubt that the other party could tear him apart with their bare hands.
"Since you know about my past, you must also know that I was banished to Sakaar for attempting to murder Odin and my Thor in order to seize the throne of Asgard."
Loki knew how to pique Malekith's curiosity.
This old fellow, sealed away for five thousand years, now most wants to know the whereabouts of the Aether Particle, and secondly, the state of the Asgard.
He was especially delighted to hear of the King of Gods' filial piety and loving fatherly love.
If this is true, then Loki might actually come in handy.
Malekith then looked at Psyphon, as if seeking confirmation.
Psyphon was not clear about this past event, but in order to deal with the Galactic Plumbers, he did read the remaining information from Thanos several times, and knew that what Loki said was true.
"But you are absolutely loyal to the Galactic Plumbers," Psyphon said, looking at him. "Even the former cosmic overlord Thanos couldn't sway your will, so I don't believe you would betray the Galactic Plumbers."
Psyphon believed he had uncovered Loki's plot.
"Don't think I don't know, Loki Odinson's greatest virtue is loyalty! Even the Mind Control of the Mind Stone couldn't make you completely betray me."
Loki:???
Can you repeat what my strengths are?
Loki was stunned; this was the first time someone had ever spoken of his loyalty.
Psyphon then looked at Malekith and said, "The great Dark Elf King, Loki, must have some ulterior motive."
Loki increasingly felt that the other party Galactic Plumbers, but he couldn't guess who Psyphon was working for just from this, since there were many people in the universe Galactic Plumbers.
But that didn't stop him from playing along and "betraying" the Galactic Plumbers occasionally.
He explained, "I did work for the Galactic Plumbers, but that was a long time ago."
Loki's face showed anger.
"I helped that guy because I had no other choice! I was stranded on Sakaar and had no one to rely on but him. He promised to help me seize the throne of Asgard, but he deceived me!"
He clenched his fists tightly, as if the mere mention of the Galactic Plumbers and the so-called King of Sakaar filled him with rage.
"But as far as I know, Odin did indeed crown you, and you yourself abdicated the throne," Psyphon said.
I really don't know if you're smart or stupid.
Loki glanced at him, clearly surprised that the other party even possessed such information. However, it was likely that apart from him, the person directly involved, no one else knew the full story, and the other party was probably just repeating hearsay.
He immediately said, "Do you really think Odin held that ceremony to crown me king?"
"This is nothing but a complete deception! A trick to cover up his so-called 'promise'! I went so far as to instigate a rebellion and attempt to kill Odin and Thor in order to obtain the throne. If he truly wanted to pass the throne to me, how could I possibly give it up?!"
Psyphon suddenly realized that Loki's words seemed to make sense.
Loki went to such lengths for the throne, yet he ultimately gave it up when it was within his grasp. This is completely Contradiction and illogical.
So, does this mean that the ceremony was a hoax, and Odin never intended to pass the throne to the other party?
No wonder this guy knelt down in front of Malekith again, willingly becoming his lackey.
Even Psyphon felt a little sorry for the other side.
Malekith wasn't surprised.
He didn't believe Odin would pass the throne of Asgard to a giant's child. At this point, he trusted Loki to eighty percent, and the remaining two percent was just a suspicion that Loki's ambitions were probably more than that, so he had to be wary.
In addition, the Tian Gong Hui (Galactic Plumbers) that they have mentioned repeatedly also seems to need attention.
but...
He thought for a moment and realized that as long as he obtained the Aether Particle, all his enemies would be insignificant.
However, Loki felt it wasn't enough.
Since he had already "betrayed" them, he might as well go all the way and portray himself as being even more irreconcilably opposed to the Galactic Plumbers, so as to see if that shark-like guy really intended to deal with the Galactic Plumbers.
He continued, "I've given so much for the Galactic Plumbers, done so much for that Ben Parker! I was a slave on that Sakaar, my collarbones pierced with chains—all for what? And how did he treat me?!"
"He conspired with Odin to deceive me! He treated me like a Joker! Not only that, he invaded Jotunheim, destroying the world that was rightfully mine! He even killed my father with his own hands!"
Loki said hatefully.
Malekith, however, was taken aback for a moment.
He didn't care whether Laufey lived or died; there would always be a King of Giants.
But the problem now is, how could the land of giants have been destroyed?
Psyphon shut up.
Laufey was indeed killed by Ben Parker and the Tetramand, but the destruction of Jotunheim was actually the work of Vilgax.
Vilgax not only destroyed the kingdom of Jotunheim, but also took away the corpse of Laufey, the King of the Frost Giants, and absorbed his Superpowers, which is why Jotunheim was destroyed.
What he actually stole was the world power of Jotunheim.
Since then, Jotunheim's branch on the Yggdrasil has completely withered.
Psyphon's purpose in this trip was precisely to help Vilgax seize the power of the other worlds.
However, now that Loki has mentioned it, it seems that the other party also blamed Ben Parker for the destruction of Jotunheim, so it's not surprising that the other party betrayed the Galactic Plumbers.
"To be honest, I don't care about Laufey's life or death, nor do I care about Jotunheim. All I want is Asgard!"
A glint of light flashed in Loki's eyes.
"All I want is to take back what's rightfully mine and make those who fooled me pay the price!"
