Chapter Summaries

After the heroes defeated Thanos’s vanguard in New York, Loki confronted Supergiant over the Mind Stone while the others prepared for the fight to end. A massive spaceship then appeared above the city, and Loki identified Thanos as its arrival left the battle unresolved.

• The Symbiote calmed Hulk, helped him return to Banner, and introduced itself as Phantom Night.
• Supergiant realized her forces had lost and focused on protecting the Mind Stone as Loki and the other heroes arrived to confront her.
• Loki told the heroes that Ben had gone to support the Galactic Plumbers’ headquarters, which Thanos had also attacked.
• The heroes faced Supergiant, who refused to surrender and welcomed death, leaving Loki as their main hope against her Stone-powered abilities.
• Peter’s Spider-Sense warned him of danger, and a massive black spaceship appeared over New York as Loki announced that Thanos had arrived.

Thanos arrived on Earth and demanded that Supergiant return with him, but Tony and Steve refused to let him leave without addressing the threat. Loki opened a portal that brought Looma and the King of Sakaar’s forces to Earth, leaving Thanos outmatched and ordering a retreat.

• Thanos retreated, leaving Supergiant captured and the Mind Stone in Ben's possession after the Chitauri Vanguard was wiped out and four members of the Black Order died.

• Felicia fought Nebula while Ben used Wildvine’s vines to restrain soldiers, regenerated after their weapons blasted away part of his body, and attacked with Seed Bombs.
• Felicia’s Vibranium suit returned Nebula’s Shockwave attack and sent her flying.

• The Winter Soldier took a stealth submarine toward the Kree flagship, hoping to seize a ship while its main forces were away.
• Rocket and Groot discovered the Winter Soldier aboard the flagship, fought him, and learned that he worked for the Galactic Plumbers seeking the Orb.
• After the Kree raised the alarm, the Winter Soldier told Rocket they could still complete the infiltration by killing everyone who had discovered them.
