Magic Classification

The Dragon had already flown over the mountaintop, chasing the direction where two suns rose. However, the shocking sight of its passage remained deeply imprinted in Du Ke's mind, leaving him unable to calm down for a long time.

When he saw the Behemoth fighting the Stegosaurus Lizard, he had already speculated that this Fantasy World definitely harbored extremely powerful Magic Beasts. After all, this was just a corner of the Great Blue Forest, and the wider area must be inhabited by even larger Magic Beasts. On the other hand, the Fantasy World's much higher oxygen content than Earth also provided the conditions for large creatures to exist, as colossal beings require a lot of oxygen.

That was a Dragon!

Don't ask Du Ke why he immediately identified it as a Dragon upon first sight. It's because "Dragon" itself is a specific term. On Earth, Dragons are synonymous with power. The Dragon flying in the sky, its terrifying aura, must be the majesty belonging to a Dragon—Dragon's Might. Classified by nature, they could be roughly divided into eleven categories: Water Element, Fire Element, Earth Element, Wind Element, Lightning Element, Ice Element, Poison Element, Corrosion Element, Space Element, Nature Element, and Summoning Element.

Among these, Water, Fire, Earth, Wind, Lightning, and Ice Elements were easy to understand, with clear classification boundaries. The remaining five categories had slightly blurred boundaries, representing Du Ke's own summary.

Poison Element: Du Ke discovered three types of small Magic Beasts that used this magic. One was similar to a snake but had dense, wart-like "feet" on its belly, which he called Flesh-Footed Snakes. After its fangs flashed, two black beams of light would shoot out, quickly causing the prey to die from poisoning upon impact. Another was a spider-like Magic Beast the size of a washbasin, which he named Pot-Bottom Spider because its dark, dull appearance truly resembled the bottom of a pot at first glance.

The third type was a beautiful small bird, only finger-length, but extremely fierce. It could use its Poison Element magic to prey on delicious rabbits. He named it the Beautiful Poison Bird.

Corrosion Element: This magic classification, strictly speaking, might not be considered magic because it included creatures like Bomb Caterpillars. The Bomb Caterpillars' long-haired bombs were not only explosive but also corrosive, possessing strong destructive power. However, on Earth, they only generated heat from the explosion. Therefore, Du Ke believed that the "Corrosion Element magic essence" they possessed must be absent on Earth.

Several insect-like Magic Beasts used Corrosion Element magic. Their venom, shed scales, and even severed limbs could suddenly explode and corrode the nano-armor, though their explosive power was far inferior to that of the Bomb Caterpillars.

Space Element Magic: This was a classification he made based on the instantaneous movement, like blinking, of the Displacer Beast. Currently, he had only encountered Displacer Beasts using this magic.

Nature Element Magic: This was, naturally, the magic used by the Flower Spirits, such as Purification Magic, Nature Growth, and Nature Withering. Most of them were related to nature, so they were temporarily classified into one type.

Summoning Element Magic: This originated from Xise Xise's Nature Spirit Summoning and Azo Azo's Nature Summoning. One could awaken Beast Spirits, while the other could summon plant seeds, both appearing as if created from nothing. Du Ke had considered classifying them as Nature Element magic but felt there was a distinction, so he ultimately decided to classify them separately.

In addition, Du Ke also wrote down four categories in his notes: Time Element, Light Element, Dark Element, and Blessing Element. These were not classifications he had discovered but rather ones he had hypothesized. With Space Element magic, perhaps there was a corresponding Time Element magic. Light and Dark Elements also seemed like common magic types. Blessing Element magic was actually a type he had originally intended to create, with the Flower Spirits' Purification Magic as its prototype.

Purification Magic could purify various magical powers. In essence, it seemed to conflict with Nature Element magic, but since Flower Spirits were born from plants and were little sprites of nature, Purification Magic was still classified under Nature Element magic.

However, if Purification Magic existed, why couldn't there be other buffing or debuffing magic, like in games with buffs and debuffs? Thus, he decided to create a Blessing Element magic classification.

Finally, as he was about to wrap up, he added a new classification—Mind Element magic.

"Are my Mind Armor and Mind Cultivation System considered Mind Element magic?" he wondered. If magic was so wondrous, and Mind Armor was so wondrous, perhaps the Fantasy World had magic that could control others' minds, just as he could communicate with other species using the Touch of Mind. Thus, the classification of magic in the Fantasy World reached a total of sixteen types.

After saving the document as Derivation of Fantasy World Magic Classification and closing his laptop, it was already dark outside. The Great Blue Forest's reeds once again bloomed with flowers of various colors, and the Flower Spirits awoke from their slumber, singing and dancing. Shawa Shawa was the first to arrive at Du Ke's window, still holding the Spore Powder Du Ke had given her. After greeting Du Ke, she began distributing it to her kin.

And so, a drunken dance of Flower Spirits unfolded in the night. In the end, Shawa Shawa also took several deep breaths and, feeling dizzy, began her own dance.

Du Ke smiled, watching Shawa Shawa, hoping she would advance quickly.

How perfect it would be if a Leader-class Flower Spirit could grow the missing part of its chest.
