Creating the League of Heroes in Gotham

After surveying the scene, Gordon even called in the evidence consultant, Edward Nygma.

The entire process was roughly pieced together.

It was identified that the severed limbs collected from the abandoned factory all belonged to Fish's subordinates. The provisional culprits were two individuals: Khada Jhin and the Gotham Beast.

Finally, after slaughtering Fish and her associates, the culprits even released a large amount of highly toxic gas in the abandoned factory...

The methods were extremely brutal! And all evidence was destroyed!

There were no objections to the entire process, but Gordon suddenly thought of a problem.

Previously, the Gotham Beast always acted alone when hunting down mobsters and criminals.

Yesterday, Fish and her crew had kidnapped a prisoner named Ian, who was being transferred from Blackgate Prison to Arkham Asylum.

But he didn't expect Fish to be behind it! And all current clues pointed to Arkham Asylum!

"Arkham Asylum again..." Gordon muttered, frowning as he sat in the passenger seat of the police car. "Harvey, let's go to Arkham Asylum again!"

Chapter 50: No Evidence! Still No Evidence!

Gordon's entire operation had actually been under Li Wei's "watch"!

Including him getting clues from a mobster.

Li Wei's pervasive vision throughout Gotham was not for show!

And all of Gordon and Harvey's findings were within Li Wei's expectations.

When Li Wei saw Gordon and Harvey heading towards Arkham Asylum, he called Ian over.

There wasn't much to instruct. They just needed to synchronize their stories beforehand to prevent any slip-ups.

As Li Wei and Ian went over their stories, Gordon and Harvey's car pulled up to the entrance of Arkham Asylum.

"Alright, Ian, go back to your room. Remember to lock your door. We'll have guests shortly."

"Understood, Warden."

After Li Wei finished instructing Ian, he stood up and walked downstairs.

Gordon and Harvey got out of the car. As they looked up and were about to knock, the main gate of Arkham Asylum opened, revealing Li Wei's face.

"Sheriff Gordon, Sheriff Harvey, good day to you both." Li Wei said with a smile. "We meet again. May I ask what brings you here this time?"

Gordon looked at the smiling Li Wei. Although Li Wei was standing right in front of him, within reach, he felt that Li Wei was becoming even more mysterious.

Since their last meeting, Gordon had carefully considered the suspicious aspects of Li Wei.

Although Li Wei had disguised himself as a mentally unstable patient during their first encounter, when Gordon was investigating Khada Jhin, there was no direct evidence to suggest that Li Wei was Khada Jhin or related to them.

And during the second investigation into the Gotham Beast, Arkham Asylum was also within the scope of the investigation.

Li Wei did not pretend to be crazy this time, but they still couldn't find any problems with him!

Then there was Warwick Vander, who looked almost identical to Stan Topolski, the main culprit in the Viper Potion leak case!

Again, there was no evidence. The only suspicion was Gordon's intuition.

Solving cases can't rely on intuition alone; you need evidence!

"Warden Li Wei, do you know Ian Hargrove?" Gordon cut to the chase, staring into Li Wei's eyes.

"Yes, he's a patient here," Li Wei replied, spreading his hands in a shrug. "He's upstairs. Do you want to see him?"

Gordon's eyes lit up, and he exchanged a look with Harvey.

What they knew for sure was that Ian Hargrove had indeed been kidnapped by Fish and her people last night. So how did Li Wei get him back?

If Li Wei was Khada Jhin, or somehow connected to Khada Jhin, then everything would make sense!

Unfortunately, they had no proof...

"Warden Li Wei, I'd like to know how Ian Hargrove ended up at Arkham Asylum. According to the information we have, he was already kidnapped by Fish and her people from Falcone Family yesterday on his way from Blackgate Prison to Arkham Asylum. And last night, Fish and those who kidnapped him were killed..."

Gordon pressed his advantage, his tone aggressive, almost to the point of directly accusing Li Wei of being the killer!

But Li Wei remained unfazed, his reaction falling exactly within Gordon's expectations.

He feigned surprise, "Really? Ian never told me any of that. He's in his room upstairs right now. Sheriff Gordon, why don't you just go ask him for the details?"

Indeed, Li Wei's acting was as superb as ever.

At least Gordon and Harvey couldn't find any flaws in his expression.

If Li Wei was hiding something, perhaps they could find clues within the asylum.

Led by Li Wei, the two entered Arkham Asylum.

Actually, this was the first time either of them had set foot in the institution. Without a warrant, they wouldn't have been able to enter without Li Wei's permission.

As they stepped inside, the scene was much like any ordinary hospital. The air was thick with the smell of disinfectant, and the decor was even less impressive than most high-end medical facilities in Gotham City, exuding an old, worn-out atmosphere.

Gordon practically strained his eyes, searching the walls, but still couldn't find anything out of the ordinary.

It looked like a regular mental hospital.

The patient rooms they passed were devoid of anything illicit, and even appeared tidier than those in other hospitals.

Li Wei simply smiled at Gordon and Harvey's actions, unbothered.

Everything was proceeding according to his plans.

Even before Gordon and Harvey arrived, he had already instructed Dr. Hugo and the others to remove anything incriminating from the asylum.

The numerous experimental subjects in the patient rooms had long since been consumed during Dr. Hugo's alchemy experiments!

As for why the empty rooms were also so spotless?

That was all thanks to the asylum's handyman—Stan!

The Hero Template of Zaun's Fury, Warwick, not only granted him superhuman abilities but also extraordinary stamina and an unusually high level of energy.

"Wait! You said you came here yourself?"

"Yes, I need treatment, so of course, I came to the hospital!"

While it sounded plausible, the biggest problem was precisely that it sounded too plausible!

Don't forget, Ian is a criminal with mental problems! And he's from Blackgate Prison!

Blackgate Prison basically keeps its inmates locked up until they die!

A serious offender would have a chance to escape but instead willingly report to Arkham Asylum?

In the end, he was escorted out of Arkham Asylum with a smile from Li Wei.

Gordon and Harvey got into the car parked in front of the asylum. Gordon looked at Arkham Asylum, standing tall under the smog hanging over Gotham, and sighed dejectedly.

"Buddy, I think I understand why Gotham suddenly went crazy and became so incomprehensible after the Waynes died."

"Oh? Why?"

"Because in a way, the Waynes were a symbol for this city, a symbol of hope, of the future..."
