The City Lord Plan's investigation team had arrived?
Where were they?
Xu Nan felt a little guilty, and a little surprised.
Anonymous City had been transformed from the main body of the Cloud Ascending Ship, Blazing Fire. While Xu Nan was not perverted enough to monitor every tiny movement in every corner of the city, he had long since instructed Blazing Fire that any Lost Paradise personnel approaching had to be reported immediately!
Had Lost Paradise's counter-reconnaissance technology surpassed Blazing Fire's capabilities?
Xu Nan deeply doubted it. After all, during the thousands of years since the Arcane Empire had departed, many of Lost Paradise's related technologies had lost their "learning" targets, and their rate of advancement had become painfully slow. Though Stephenson served as a substitute, Lost Paradise still lagged behind in areas such as Cloud Ascending Ship technology.
But the system's prompt could not possibly be false.
That left only one answer.
"Very few people came with the investigation team? And they're big shots?"
Xu Nan shot to his feet, considering how to deal with the important figures about to arrive. Yet at that very moment, there came a knock at the door.
"Come in?" Having mentally prepared himself, Xu Nan appeared much calmer at the elephant guard's abrupt report.
Sure enough, the burly elephant-man, one of his close guards, reported that a lecherous-looking middle-aged man was waiting outside and claimed he wished to see City Lord Xu.
"He didn't barge straight in. He isn't too arrogant."
"Let him in." Xu Nan took a deep breath and spoke quickly.
Before long, a familiar face appeared before Xu Nan's somewhat astonished eyes.
"You are..."
Before Xu Nan could ask anything, the other man smiled, removed his hat, casually placed it on Xu Nan's desk, and reassured him.
"Don't be nervous.
