Background / History
The profession is attributed to an existence called Ron. Early bloodline lore could not determine whether Ron was an individual, a group, or something else; later Lost Paradise insiders confirmed that Ron and the infamous King of Tomb Raiders were the same person. This Ron robbed more than a hundred divine tombs, not for their contents, but to build his own tomb beneath them. 35 443
Ron Sorcerer is a Foreign Profession: it did not originate from the Pro World's will, and its power ultimately comes from Ron. Although it presents itself as a bloodline inheritance, Xu Nan concludes that Lost Paradise—not merely inherited blood—is its practical core. 413
The Bloodline Growth Guidance System was created by powerful Ron Sorcerers to direct later inheritors. It provides tasks, spells, secret methods, and technical support, but Lost Paradise can revoke system access from Sorcerers who seriously violate its rules. A Sorcerer stripped of the system may still awaken independently, but does so at much greater risk and without Lost Paradise assistance. 34
Abilities & Skills
Bloodline Growth Guidance System
Ron Sorcerers receive a character card that tracks levels, attributes, feats, spells, tasks, and resources.
- Shame Points can increase Sorcerer level, purchase listed spells and secret methods, and unlock alchemy blueprints. 1 30
- Awakening methods differ between individuals. Xu Nan's growth condition, Shame, is described as rare among Ron Sorcerers. 35
- Shame-based growth can be psychologically dangerous; Luo Mang states that many people lose their minds after repeated humiliation. 35
- The Apostle of Desire profession can collect Shame Elements from others, allowing Xu Nan to fulfill Ron Sorcerer leveling requirements without personally completing as many shameful events. 447 590
Bloodline Awakening and Spellcasting
A successful awakening transforms the user's body and grants feats, skills, spells, and other bloodline abilities. Xu Nan's first awakening granted Radiant Presence, Negotiation Expert, Spell Extension, Combat Casting, and the ability to summon a familiar. 3
- Ron Sorcerers cast through a mana-bar system rather than conventional spell slots; they may continue casting as long as they retain mana. 3
- Spells are primarily gained through bloodline awakening or acquired from the system with Shame Points. 3
- Early access to spells is unusually broad and can include cross-profession magic, but available choices become more restrictive as the Sorcerer grows stronger. 30 381
- Their bloodline-driven casting speed is naturally faster than that of Magicians before metamagic is considered. 454
- The bloodline provides strong resilience against deterrence and illusion effects, a combat advantage that is often overlooked. 321
Lost Paradise and Bloodline Fruits
Lost Paradise is the exclusive plane of Ron Sorcerers, containing treasures, trials, predecessors' assets, and Bloodline Fruits. It also has dedicated spacetime tunnels for its inheritors. 1 11
- A Ron Sorcerer theoretically receives one opportunity to explore Lost Paradise at each level. 170
- Bloodline Fruits can provide spells, abilities, skill points, or dramatic level growth; one recorded Level 1 Sorcerer reportedly rose directly to Level 17 after consuming a predecessor's fruit. 11
- Xu Nan gains the spell-like ability Pain Lash from a fruit left by Exxon Romang. The barbed whip can inflict physical and soul damage and may interrupt spellcasting. 170
- Lost Paradise is regarded as a plane-level alchemical artifact beyond even the Arcane Empire's capabilities. 190
Arcane Arts and Secret Spells
Ron Sorcerers may purchase specialized arcane arts and secret spells through their growth system.
- Silent Wail — Interrupts most spells requiring chants or incantations; its strength scales with the Shame Points invested. 11
- Hagrid's Flicker Spell — A teleportation art with a minimum three-minute chant. A first-rank Ron Sorcerer may maintain only three arcane arts. 28
- Protection Fee — Secretly extracts wealth from lower-ranked Sorcerers the caster has encountered; the amount depends on the target's assets. 522
- Blood Oath — Temporarily improves physical, spellcasting, and melee performance, but causes severe backlash and requires substantial recovery afterward. 522
Alchemy and Imitation
Ron Sorcerers commonly bind themselves to Alchemist as a sub-profession to compensate for the uncertainty of bloodline growth. 26
- Lost Paradise preserves at least sixty percent of the alchemical techniques once used by the Arcane Empire. 415
- Its alchemical strength is built largely on imitation, adaptation, and replication rather than original research. 384 415
- Ron Sorcerer spell development likewise incorporates techniques associated with other professions, including Rangers, Druids, Hunters, Bards, and Magicians. 99 381
- This reliance on copying leaves the profession dependent on others' research and limits its independent research-and-development capacity. 384 415
Limitations and Risks
- Ron Sorcerers have an exceptionally high potential ceiling, but advancement to Legendary requires deciphering the bloodline's mystery. No confirmed limit to the bloodline has been observed. 35
- Failure to advance to Legendary can cause severe psychological deterioration. Otteson and other affected Sorcerers experience delusions, intrusive voices, and related mental-health crises. 394
- The Shame Trait is particularly hazardous: Ansu Li's prophecy identifies it as a requirement for the Fearless One, while Luo Mang notes that its historical inheritors rarely meet good ends. 546
- Intermediate Ron Sorcerers are especially vulnerable to charm-based trials. Their typical investment in Charm gives them poor resistance against seduction and mental temptation. 380
- Ron Sorcerers are often treated as freaks, lunatics, or perverts by outsiders; discrimination includes a Shadow Realm gate marked “Ron Sorcerers and dogs are not allowed to enter” and protests against Lost Paradise visitors in Stephenson. 11 136 195
Relationships
- Ron — The profession's source and ancestor figure; his true nature was long unknown, but he is confirmed to be the same Ron known as the King of Tomb Raiders. 35 443
- Lost Paradise — Exclusive plane, growth-system hub, alchemical center, and primary support structure for Ron Sorcerers. 11 34 413
- Xu Nan — Earth inheritor of the Shame-based Ron Sorcerer bloodline and the only Ron Sorcerer on Earth at the time referenced by Tiamat's agent. 1 188
- Luo Mang — Legendary Ron Sorcerer and Xu Nan's mentor; provides bloodline guidance and warns him of the profession's mysteries and risks. 35 415
- Exxon Romang — Legendary predecessor who left assets, a gospel book, Bloodline Fruits, and the Innocent Staff for later Ron Sorcerers. 12 170
- Otteson — Ron Sorcerer whose bloodline developed toward Bard and Druid abilities; his failed Legendary advancement exposes the profession's mental-health risks. 394
Story Role / Major Arcs
- Xu Nan inherits the unawakened Ron Sorcerer bloodline as Earth begins merging with a fantasy world, making shame-based tasks the price of his initial power. 1
- Lost Paradise becomes Xu Nan's principal source of Bloodline Fruits, inherited equipment, arcane arts, and contact with other Ron Sorcerers. 11 12 170
- At Level 5, the profession opens multiple advancement paths; Xu Nan's successful advancement produces the Initiate Sorcerer branch and elevates him to Tier 2. 91 121
- The profession is later identified as a Foreign Profession connected directly to Ron, clarifying why it differs so sharply from ordinary Sorcerers. 413
- Xu Nan's Apostle of Desire advancement resolves a central weakness of his Shame Trait by letting him harvest Shame Elements from other people. 447 590
- Exploration of Ron's tomb grants Xu Nan access to Ron's crystal coffin and the Entropy Book, deepening his connection to Ron's legacy and the Authority of Entropy. 456 580
