  • Su Hao skipped the day’s academic lessons to cultivate Wave Power while his classmates attended class.

Ch. 27Definitely Has a Side Hustle!

Ch. 34Departing on a Journey, Trainer Market!

Su Hao left home for his Gym Challenge journey, traveling to Baohe City in Haiqing Province with Carbink and Incineroar. He explored a Trainer Market, bought supplies and Pokémon Items, and settled into his hotel with his journey ahead.

  • Su Hao dreamed of an androgynous voice repeatedly asking him what his truth was, a voice he had heard since returning from the Spiral Secret Realm.
  • Su Hao's father prepared supplies for his journey, while Su Hao's mother sent him a Space Backpack packed with wilderness gear and clothes.
  • Su Hao said goodbye to his father, Li Hua, and Jiang Chengcheng, then took a first-class train to Baohe City, arriving three days later.

Ch. 35Wilderness

Ch. 36The Sheltered One

Su Hao and his Pokémon took shelter from the rain in a cave that belonged to a Feebas. After the rain stopped, they cleaned the cave and left, while Feebas set out to find her adopted siblings.

  • Su Hao found a cave during the rain, checked that it was unoccupied, and made camp with Carbink and Incineroar.
  • Su Hao bathed, washed his clothes, and fell asleep beside the fire.
  • Feebas emerged from the pool and told Su Hao through Wave Power that the cave was her home and that her adopted siblings were away.
  • Su Hao apologized to Feebas with an Energy Cube, then he, Carbink, and Incineroar cleaned the cave and departed.
  • Feebas said she would go look for her adopted siblings, who had been gone for several days.

Ch. 37Water Capital—Shuizhou City

Su Hao arrived in Shuizhou City after a week of travel and training, during which Incineroar reached the Elite Level and Carbink grew stronger. At Hulbury Stadium, Gym Leader Jie Wei arranged to hold his Gym Challenge the following evening as a ticketed event, and Su Hao agreed to her proposed share of the sales.

  • Incineroar defeated an Elite Level Golem with Flame Charge, reached the Elite Level, and learned Flare Blitz.
  • Carbink continued developing her Diancie traits and defeated an Elite Level Steelix, which fled underground after being knocked down by Meteor Beam.

  • The spectators cheered as Su Hao’s Incineroar defeated Azumarill, and Jie Wei sent out Garganacl.
  • Su Hao ordered Incineroar to attack Garganacl, whose Shell Blade split apart Flamethrower and whose swordsmanship kept Incineroar on the defensive.
