The great battle was about to begin!!!
Thud~!
Bang~!!
Crash!!!
Smash!!!
At the very least, by the time Machi caught up from behind,
she had already seen Uvogin, Phinks, and Feitan tangled up in a brawl.
Machi observed the fight from the sidelines for a moment, then, after some thought, casually pulled a broken stick from the ground.
She began taking cheap shots from the edge of the fight, occasionally whacking Phinks over the head.
Well, she had wanted to hit Feitan too.
But Feitan was too short. She could not catch sight of him.
And so, while the garbage dump of Meteor City descended into total chaos,
faint ripples of Nen ability also spread through Mog's empty home.
Who knew how much time passed~~~
"Done~!!"
Inside the room, Mog, seated on the floor, suddenly opened his eyes, a sharp glint flashing through them.
Over this period of time, he had finally found a way to reasonably reduce the Aura consumption of his [Invent].
If it worked, he could even reduce that consumption to the absolute minimum—almost zero!!
"I guess this counts as reasonably combining my transmigration cheat with my Nen ability~~~"
Mog sighed softly.
The method he had found was a brand-new condition and effect developed on the basis of [Restraint and Vow].
Mog named it: [Standing on the Shoulders of Giants].
[Standing on the Shoulders of Giants]: By standing on the shoulders of giants, one can see farther; in other words, one can rely on the wisdom and achievements of predecessors to help and surpass oneself. When receiving a [Request] or [Commission] to [Invent], if there is an invention in one's mind that meets the conditions, directly [Inventing] it will reduce the consumption of Aura and Nen according to the degree of compatibility.
In other words, if someone gave Mog a [Request] or [Commission], and Mog relied on his own understanding and a finished product already in his mind to [Invent], then the consumption of Aura and Nen would be reduced.
Moreover, the closer the finished product in his mind matched the conditions of the [Request] and [Commission], the less Aura and Nen it would consume.
Simply put, Mog's previous [Invent] had relied entirely on his [Master Inventor] ability to provide suitable [Inventions] based on [Commissions] and [Requests].
But now, with [Standing on the Shoulders of Giants], it all depended on Mog himself, on whether he could truly find a finished product to [Invent].
He no longer needed to rely on [Master Inventor]. He could rely entirely on himself—no middleman taking a cut!
For example, Uvogin's earlier [Commission] to eat Sticky Rice Cake.
If Mog already had a corresponding finished product like the [Mochi Maker] in mind, he would not need to rely on [Master Inventor] to provide one directly.
Then, if that finished product perfectly matched Uvogin's [Commission], the consumption would be extremely low, almost zero!!
"So I still have to rely on myself. I can't depend too much on my ability..."
Mog let out a long breath. "This is also testing my own accumulation of [Inventions]~!!"
This ability's prerequisite was that Mog had to promptly find a corresponding invention that met the conditions for completing a [Request] or [Commission].
For example, if someone wanted to eat Sticky Rice Cake, he needed to know about the [Mochi Maker].
Likewise, if Uvogin wanted to eat something else, Mog also needed to know of an invention that could more or less meet the requirements.
"Of course, if it is something particularly broad, like an [Invention] that satisfies any request related to [eating], such as the [Gourmet Tablecloth], then no matter how much it reduces Aura and Nen consumption, it will still require quite a lot..."
Mog understood that clearly.
He was not naive enough to think that he could use this ability to [Invent] absolutely anything.
Same as before, if someone gave Mog a [Commission] to destroy the world,
then even if Mog knew of an invention like the [World Destruction Bomb], he still would not be able to handle the cost of bringing it out~
"But ordinary, normal [Inventions] should be fine..."
Mog thought through some of the powerful inventors and corresponding items he knew of:
"Not to mention the gadgets from [Doraemon], the inventions of Lazy Goat and Chief Slow Goat from [Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf] are also quite interesting. There is Professor Muddle from [GG Bond], Professor Agasa from [Detective Conan], Senbei Norimaki from [Dr. Slump], Bulma and her father from [Dragon Ball], and so on..."
Mog knew many brilliant inventors and their inventions like the back of his hand.
He had to thank his childhood self for watching all those anime. They would make it much easier for him to handle all sorts of troublesome and difficult [Requests] and [Commissions], providing suitable [Inventions] for them!!
"So, there are two main priorities right now..."
As Mog sensed the weak Aura and Nen within his body, he also looked around the empty room, truly bare to the four walls.
"One is to increase my strength. At the very least, I need enough Aura and Nen to protect myself and sustain future [Inventions]."
"The other is to improve my current living conditions..."
At the mention of improving his life, Mog could not help but sigh helplessly.
This home was simply too poor. He could not even find a cup to drink water from.
As a result, he still had not been able to perform Water Divination to test his Nen ability type.
There were six Nen ability types: Enhancement Type, Transmutation Type, Emission Type, Manipulation Type, Conjuration Type, and Specialization Type.
Mog guessed that he was probably either Conjuration Type or Specialization Type.
"Forget about what type I am for now. I need to fill my stomach again."
Feeling hunger rise in his belly once more, Mog grew somewhat melancholy.
What transmigrator ended up like him, finally arriving in another world only to be unable to even secure basic food and shelter?
"Sticky Rice Cake tastes pretty good, but it doesn't fill you up."
"And most of it ended up in Uvogin's stomach anyway~~~"
"If that guy wants to eat good food again, he should come back..."
Knock, knock, knock.
Just as Mog was thinking that, someone suddenly knocked on the battered front door.
"It's us."
Machi's calm voice came from outside the door.
That lowered Mog's guard slightly. After using his Nen to sense that there were indeed no outsiders,
he finally stood up and went to open the door.
Besides, Machi had said "us," which meant that Uvogin had come with her.
Except~~~
"Did you change your minds... huh?!"
Mog opened the door, and the first thing he saw was Machi's dirty, disheveled appearance.
Then behind her was Uvogin, bruised and swollen, baring his teeth as he sat on the ground.
"We got into a fight."
Facing Mog's briefly stunned gaze, Machi's eyes remained calm as she offered a simple explanation.
"That is common in Meteor City."
Well, getting into conflicts with others in Meteor City truly was nothing unusual.
But for Uvogin and Machi to look this bedraggled...
"Those two didn't get off easy either!"
Seeing Mog's gaze sweep over him, Uvogin still refused to admit defeat.
"That bastard Phinks had several of his teeth knocked out by me!!"
As he said that, he grinned, clearly revealing the missing corner of one of his own teeth.
Mog: "..."
The other guy had several teeth knocked out, but wasn't he the same?
Still~~~
"Phinks? And you said those two... was the other one Feitan?"
Hearing those familiar names, Mog immediately connected them to the two people.
At the same time, he understood.
No wonder Uvogin and Machi had ended up in such a sorry state. Only a duo like Phinks and Feitan could have done this.
But presumably, those two had not gotten off easy at Uvogin's hands either.
Otherwise, Uvogin would not be wearing such a triumphant, satisfied expression.
He had stormed out angrily earlier, yet now he had returned with the air of a victor.
Obviously, he had won and come back specifically to show off~~~
See? I don't need to beg you to make me stronger. I can still beat other people!!
Yeah, that was probably what he wanted to convey.
"So, did you come here for me to treat your injuries?"
Mog ignored him and merely gave the two of them a quick once-over. They seemed to have only superficial injuries, with nothing internal damaged.
"No need. They're just minor injuries."
Uvogin was, as expected, still putting on a strong front and forcefully waved his hand.
"We're just hungry, so we came here to find something to eat."
