Background
Mog lived alone in his original world, where he pursued invention and design as a hobby and livelihood. His online creations earned him enough to buy a small apartment before he was forcibly transmigrated into the world of Hunter x Hunter with a restored younger body. He arrived in Meteor City in 1983, sixteen years before the original timeline, and accepted his new circumstances after discovering his enhanced Nen ability, Master Inventor 1.
His first major contacts in Meteor City were Uvogin and Machi. Mog fed them with inventions such as the Mochi Maker, but made clear that power and inventions required a price; he would not freely reveal the basis of his ability merely because others desired it 6 7. He later brought together Uvogin, Machi, Phinks, Feitan, Nobunaga, Chrollo, and other future Troupe members through food, inventions, performances, and Nen instruction 17 43.
Mog became the central figure of the group that would form the Phantom Troupe. He helped its members open their Aura Nodes when their bodies were ready, took them beyond Meteor City to gain experience, and accepted the role of the Troupe's Boss while appointing Chrollo as Vice Boss 51 53. After returning to Meteor City, he formally established the Troupe and committed it to confronting the Children's Future Foundation and its leader, Lisnos 119 123 125.
After extensive combat training at Heaven's Arena, Mog began traveling independently and pursued a Hunter License for access to restricted regions worldwide 70 72. He later passed the Hunter Exam by defeating every other remaining examinee in the second phase, prompting Chairman Netero to recognize that further testing would be unnecessary 167 169.
As a Professional Hunter, Mog collaborated with Ging Freecss, Ikshombe, and the creators of Greed Island. He co-created the Chat Room concept with Ikshombe and received administrative permissions within it 93 106. Following the capture of the Kude Bandits, the Hunter Association recognized him as a One-Star Bounty Hunter 185 224.
Mog also expanded the Phantom Troupe's influence in Ambrosia. After confronting Ten Don Salvatore Malaas, he used Tols Malaas as an underworld spokesperson, intending to combine Mafia influence with his Hunter Association connections and information network 216.
Personality
Mog is calm, pragmatic, and highly self-aware. He consistently evaluates whether his current strength, knowledge, and preparations are sufficient before committing to a course of action. He refused to force-awaken his companions' Nen because he judged his ability and their foundations inadequate for the risk 23.
He can be generous, especially toward Meteor City children and his companions, but his generosity is structured around conditions and long-term goals. Mog believes that power has a price, and he is willing to use others' desires for strength or security to establish leverage 7 17.
Mog prefers influence from behind the scenes over public fame. His ambitions extend beyond invention: he seeks a worldwide network, practical control over information, and a position from which he can act without being constrained by formal institutions 69 109 216.
