Background

Jiang Xiao was a crew member of the merchant ship Doran. Before his imprisonment, he smuggled Tier 1 contraband into the territory of an intermediate civilization for survival. The Doran later became central to his identity, stored assets, and access to its Mental Memory Terminal. 19 108

On Frontier Prison Star KL-21, Jiang Xiao entered Tier 1 through combat against Viper Race members. He awakened Origin Data, became a Mechanist, and drew the Black Mech Gang’s attention after obtaining and researching machinery connected to their Three-Phase Square Box. 3 7

After escaping the Old Capital Ruins, Jiang Xiao rescued the Pan-Human child Mu Yunxi—whom he calls Xiao Xi—from a Viper Clan camp. He returned her to Starfire Camp, where his actions brought him into contact with the Spark Gang’s leadership. 15 17 22
