Hu Shu looked at his suffering clansmen, his heart filled with guilt and helplessness. He knew time was pressing and could not afford the slightest delay. Taking a deep breath, Hu Shu secretly made up his mind that no matter how many hardships and obstacles lay ahead, he would find a solution. Just then, he suddenly felt a ripple in his mind. The Invincible Domain System seemed to have a new prompt...
The system's voice rang out in Hu Shu's mind. "Host, please note: an immortal herb grows in the Extreme Cold Land. This herb can cure the poison afflicting the Human Race. However, the Extreme Cold Land is fraught with danger. Host, you must be careful." A flash of delight crossed Hu Shu's eyes before they turned resolute again. He knew this was the hope of saving his clansmen. Even if a mountain of blades and a sea of flames lay ahead, he had to go.
Hu Shu turned around and looked at the worried clansmen behind him. He said loudly, "Everyone, don't worry. I have learned of a way to save you. I will set out at once. Strengthen the defenses here and wait for my return." The clansmen nodded one after another, their eyes full of trust in Hu Shu.
Without wasting a moment, Hu Shu immediately used his movement technique and hurried toward the Extreme Cold Land indicated by the system. Not long after leaving the Human Race settlement, the sky gradually darkened. Vast masses of black clouds piled together as though they might come crashing down at any moment. Then a howling gale rose, its icy wind cutting across Hu Shu's face like blades.
Hu Shu frowned. He circulated his magic power, and a faint glow appeared around his body, shielding him from the gale. Yet the wind only seemed to grow fiercer, buffeting him until even his body swayed. Hu Shu's heart tightened. He knew this was only the first obstacle on the way to the Extreme Cold Land.
As he continued onward, heavy snow began to fall from the sky. Snowflakes drifted down in a flurry, quickly dyeing the land white. Hu Shu's vision was greatly impaired as well. Everything around him was a vast expanse of white, and he could only feel his way forward using the general direction provided by the system.
The snow that landed on Hu Shu's body was instantly evaporated by his magic power, but the bone-piercing cold still seeped through his magic power barrier. Hu Shu felt his body gradually stiffen, and every step became exceedingly difficult. Gritting his teeth, he increased the output of his magic power, trying to drive away the cold.
After struggling through the icy wilderness for a long time, Hu Shu suddenly heard a deep roar. His heart tensed, and he immediately went on guard. Not far away, a massive snow bear was slowly approaching him. It stood over twice the height of a man, its entire body covered in thick white fur, its eyes gleaming with cold ferocity.
The snow bear stared at Hu Shu and let out another roar before suddenly pouncing at him. Determination flashed through Hu Shu's eyes. He swiftly drew the long sword at his waist and charged forward to meet it.
Hu Shu and the snow bear clashed in an instant. The bear's paw, carrying immense force, slammed toward Hu Shu. He twisted aside and narrowly avoided the blow. At the same time, the long sword in his hand shot out like lightning, aiming straight for the snow bear's throat. The snow bear reacted quickly, tilting its head as the blade grazed past its fur.
Hu Shu knew he could not fight the snow bear for long. He had to shake it off quickly and continue on his way. Thus, he unleashed an exquisite sword technique. Sword shadows flickered, making it difficult for the snow bear to get close for a time. But the snow bear's hide was thick and tough, and Hu Shu's attacks did limited damage.
Hu Shu pondered a countermeasure. As he circled around the snow bear, he searched for an opening. Suddenly, he noticed that the snow bear's movements were slightly sluggish whenever it turned around. Hu Shu's eyes lit up. Seizing the moment, when the snow bear turned again, he leaped into the air and drove his long sword fiercely into its back.
Hu Shu poured all his magic power into that strike, and the long sword pierced deep into the snow bear's back. Roaring in pain, the snow bear twisted its body wildly, trying to throw Hu Shu off. Hu Shu gripped the hilt tightly and refused to let go no matter how fiercely it struggled.
At last, the snow bear's movements gradually slowed. It crashed to the ground, sending snow flying. Hu Shu panted heavily as he pulled the long sword from its back. He knew this was only one of the many dangers he would encounter on the road. More hardships and obstacles still awaited him.
Hu Shu continued onward and encountered attacks from quite a few demonic beasts along the way. There were nimble Ice Wolves, as well as snow foxes that could spit ice spikes. Every battle consumed much of Hu Shu's magic power, but his conviction to save his clansmen supported him and kept him from stopping.
As he ventured deeper into the Extreme Cold Land, the temperature grew lower and lower. Hu Shu felt that even circulating his magic power had become somewhat difficult. Everything around him was covered in ice and snow, as though the entire world had frozen over.
Hu Shu's steps grew increasingly heavy, and his body trembled slightly from cold and exhaustion. Yet his gaze remained firm. He knew he was getting closer and closer to the immortal herb.
The Extreme Cold Land was fraught with danger. Could Hu Shu successfully find the immortal herb and save the sick Human Race in time? And was there an even greater conspiracy by the Chan Sect behind all this?
