Hao Ren had no idea what sort of chaos those paranormal enthusiasts had been stirring up, but he could make a rough guess just by thinking about the strange equipment they carried. Vivian had given an even more direct assessment: "Over there? It's basically a meeting of con artists. Only Nangong and that monk have anything genuine in their hands."

Lily sprawled on the ground, sniffing left and right. After fussing around for more than ten seconds, she raised her head. "Someone's been here."

"With the castle attracting so many people lately, it's normal for anyone to have come by," Hao Ren said without much concern as he cautiously headed toward the little chapel. "That sound is really creepy, though. Vivian, are you sure everything's okay?"

"It's fine. The undead aura is still being suppressed underground." Vivian released a little of her power, and a faint red glow spread through her eyes in the night. "Listen. The wind seems to be weakening."

Hao Ren swallowed. The wind and strange howls coming from the little chapel were indeed gradually fading, but they had already succeeded in creating an unsettling atmosphere. He couldn't sense any so-called undead aura—in his eyes, the place had been crawling with ghosts from the beginning.

The little chapel's wooden door had completely rotted away, but a pile of collapsed stone slabs blocked the entrance to the stone building. Hao Ren carefully approached and found a crack between the rubble blocking the doorway. Looking through it, he saw only darkness inside. The intermittent wind and the noisy sounds of human cries and neighing horses were indeed coming from within the stone building. There were also plenty of cracks around it, so the strange sounds came through almost unhindered. No wonder they had spread throughout the entire castle.
