The blood mist Vivian had released had nearly covered the Demon Stone completely, but now a filthy shock wave burst out of it, scattering all the mist at once. Even Vivian was knocked back several steps. She watched the power of the blood slowly fade, her face full of disbelief. "This... what a waste. There was still plenty left to eat!"

The starlight and moonlight had vanished. A vast mass of filthy, black-red clouds was converging from every direction. The clouds were so dense they seemed almost solid, rolling across the night sky like a swamp hanging upside down overhead. They looked both terrifying and nauseating. As the clouds gathered, a dark red glow began spreading behind them, as though a vast sea of fire lay beyond the storm. In the brightest part of the fiery glow, a vortex-shaped opening was slowly taking shape. The overwhelming pressure came from within it, along with waves of unbearable heat.

The firelight in the clouds wasn't an illusion. It really was carrying a sea of fire—a boundless inferno from the Demon Realm.
