Background / History

At his peak, Madara fought Senju Hashirama with the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan and a Susanoo armored by the Nine-Tails, yet was defeated by Hashirama’s Wood Golem. In old age, he remained obsessed with regaining the Rinnegan and confronting a worthy opponent. 80

While operating from concealment, Madara controlled the Mizukage and used Black and White Zetsu to gather intelligence. He rescued the injured Obito Uchiha, kept him isolated in an underground cavern, trained him in techniques including Izanagi and Yin-Yang Release, and indoctrinated him with the Infinite Tsukuyomi as the path to peace. 80 98
