Following Jieyin into the great formation, they arrived before the Grand Hall at the mountain peak.
At this moment, a figure already stood on the steps before the hall—it was Daoist Zhunti, who had received word and was waiting here in advance.
Zhunti's face was like a full moon floating in golden haze, the white hair between his brows swirling like starlit sand. His eyes carried a smile, and he wore a golden-yellow Daoist robe, his whole being suffused with the pure Dao resonance of Great Nirvana. In his left hand, he held the Seven Treasures Wonderful Tree, shimmering with seven-colored light; his right hand formed the Great Compassion Seal, bearing an expression of pity for all beings. One glance made it clear he was a lofty cultivator.
"Elder Brother's journey seems to have gone smoothly! Congratulations on gaining such a fine disciple." Zhunti looked at Jiang Yun following behind Jieyin and spoke with a smile.
Jieyin nodded slightly: "I troubled Junior Brother to welcome me here. This trip was indeed quite agreeable."
After replying, he turned to introduce Jiang Yun: "Junior Brother, this is the disciple I took in during my travels, named Jiang Yun."
Then he faced Jiang Yun and said, "Jiang Yun, step forward and pay your respects to your Uncle-Master Zhunti."
As soon as Jieyin finished speaking, Jiang Yun quickly stepped forward and bowed: "Jiang Yun pays respects to Uncle-Master Zhunti. May Uncle-Master soon attain the Immortal Dao!"
"Mm, Nephew-Disciple need not be so formal!" Zhunti nodded with a satisfied smile.
After the formalities and exchanging names, Jieyin and Zhunti led him into the hall.
The two sat at the head, looked at Jiang Yun standing steadily below, exchanged a glance, and Jieyin spoke: "Jiang Yun, your master and uncle-master have not yet opened our mountain gate. Thanks to the guidance of the Heavenly Mandate, we were able to take you into our sect. Your fortune is deep; cultivate many good deeds, and you shall be my personal senior disciple! From now on, do not forget your original intent, and temper yourself in cultivation."
Jiang Yun clasped his hands and replied, "I respectfully heed Master's teachings!"
"Do you have a Dao name?"
"Reporting to Master, your disciple was born from Cloud Bamboo. Fortunate to gain wisdom, after Form Transformation, I gave myself the Dao name Yun Yazhi."
"Since you already have a Dao name, I will not bestow another upon you! I see you are wreathed in golden light of merit—how did this come about?" Jieyin's tone held a mix of admiration and curiosity.
"Your disciple was born in a barren valley in the Western Land. Since gaining sentience, all I saw was desolation and ruin, long without encountering any living beings. I believed the place of my birth was my home. As an Innate Being favored by the Heavenly Mandate, receiving much grace, I thought I should not forget to give back to heaven and earth. Thus, along my journey, I repaired and nurtured the Spirit Veins, cleansed the filth of the earth, and devoted myself to restoring the vitality of the Western Land, never ceasing. Over time, the Heavenly Mandate bestowed much Aura of Merit." Jiang Yun narrated unhurriedly.
"Excellent!" Jieyin and Zhunti clapped in praise after hearing this.
They were both top-tier Innate Beings of the Western Land, born from Mount Sumeru, a primal spirit vein. From birth, they had seen the Western Land in its prosperity and splendor. But after a great war, the Western Spirit Veins shattered, living beings grew scarce, and their Root Foundation was far from what it had been. Thus, they jointly made a great vow, determined to bring Great Prosperity of the West, becoming the destined lords of the Western Land.
Now, Jiang Yun's actions aligned perfectly with their own. No wonder the Heavenly Mandate had guided them—wasn't he the best inheritor of their path!
"I see you practice Dual Cultivation of Dharma and Body, already with some foundation. You must have some inheritance. Today, I bestow upon you the 'Mount Sumeru Treasure Record.' This records the Dao methods of your master and uncle-master. You must study it well and not slack off!" Jieyin said with relief.
Jiang Yun joyfully received the treasure record, then heard Jieyin continue: "Though you have done many good deeds and gained some favor from the Western Land's fortune, you must never become complacent. Be cautious and prudent. Know that the Primordial World is vast, with countless talents far exceeding your imagination! Hearing a hundred truths and thinking none surpass you is arrogance and ignorance, ultimately leading to failure. Beware, beware!"
Having accepted the teachings, Jiang Yun sat on a cushion in the hall and began to comprehend the Mount Sumeru Treasure Record.
Jiang Yun had expected the Mount Sumeru Treasure Record to begin with cultivation explanations, or at least record some deeds of Jieyin and Zhunti. But his guess was completely off.
Calm the mind, gather the qi, clear the Lingtai, Bodhi wondrous Dharma, Nirvana preserves the spirit.
This was the opening introduction of the Mount Sumeru Treasure Record, the core of their Dao methods. One cultivated the Bodhi Nirvana Dharma Gate, the other the Path of Karma and Bliss, both placing utmost importance on mind and wisdom.
The Dao methods of two top-tier Innate Beings were quite difficult for Jiang Yun to grasp now. Even with the help of the Dao Derivation Disk, it was still not as good as directly consulting the creators. So he had to stop repeatedly to ask Jieyin and Zhunti about the doubts that arose during his comprehension.
Jieyin and Zhunti had been at the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal realm upon Form Transformation. They answered Jiang Yun's questions without a moment's thought, their guidance always hitting the mark, clearing his confusion.
In this process of question and answer, Jiang Yun's original Late Golden Immortal cultivation naturally broke through to Golden Immortal Perfection.
Seeing this, Jieyin smiled slightly, reached out and grasped the air. The surging spiritual energy and golden lotuses in the hall continuously fell upon Jiang Yun's head, helping him steadily stabilize his cultivation and solidify his foundation.
Time flew by in this exchange. In just over three hundred years, Jiang Yun felt a tremendous transformation from head to toe. His previously unsystematic Dao methods were gradually sorted out through these questions and answers, and with reference to the Mount Sumeru Treasure Record, he formed a system of his own.
After years of guidance, he had gained a deep understanding of the Western Dao methods in the Mount Sumeru Treasure Record.
Jieyin cultivated the Western Way. His philosophy and path were deeply intertwined with the development of the Western Land, so his techniques often embodied tolerance and absorption. He also had a profound insight into karma, acting according to the principle of karmic cycles and delighting in forming good connections. His Dao pursued a state of bliss, envisioning the Western Land as a paradise free from suffering, filled with peace and joy.
Zhunti cultivated the Way of Bodhi. With Bodhi wisdom as his foundation, he excelled at comprehending Bodhi wisdom from all things in the world, thereby discerning the truths of the universe. His Dao methods focused on the growth of wisdom and the enlightenment of living beings. He had a deep realization of Nirvana, believing all things in the world to be empty and still. In cultivation, he enhanced his power through the perception of the Nirvana state, where he could avoid external interference, eliminate distractions, and attain liberation.
"Alright, you now have your own understanding of the Mount Sumeru Treasure Record. From here, slowly comprehend and accumulate bit by bit!"
Seeing that Jiang Yun had gained a profound grasp of the Mount Sumeru Treasure Record, Jieyin and Zhunti ended the Q&A session.
"Jiang Yun, since you have reached the realm of Golden Immortal Perfection, it is time to explain the cultivation of the Primordial Unity Golden Immortal realm!"
Jiang Yun sat solemnly, his eyes filled with a thirst for knowledge, listening quietly. Jieyin did not wait for his reply and continued:
"Below the Golden Immortal Realm, the physical body, mana, and Primordial Spirit each go its own way. Mastering one can overpower others. The Golden Immortal Realm begins to comprehend laws, integrating a thread of law into Essence, Qi, and Spirit, achieving golden imperishability, thus enduring with the world."
"But the Primordial Unity Golden Immortal realm is difficult to cultivate. One must perfect the Three Treasures of Essence, Qi, and Spirit, thereby blooming the Three Flowers Gathering at the Crown. The three flowers of heaven, earth, and man correspond to the Primordial Spirit, mana, and physical body."
"Primordial Unity Golden Immortals cultivate the Five Qi in the Chest, as the Five Qi align with the five organs. The heart belongs to fire, the liver to wood, the spleen to earth, the lungs to metal, and the kidneys to water. Using the Five Qi to enter the five organs replenishes the body's essence and tempers the flesh, doubling efficiency. Once the body is tempered to perfection and the foundation is solid, the flower of essence can be nurtured at the crown, governing the body."
"Refining the Five Qi into one's own mana, when mana is abundant, can nurture the flower of qi. Using the Five Qi to nourish the Primordial Spirit, when the Primordial Spirit is perfected, can nurture the flower of spirit. Thus, with Three Flowers Gathering at the Crown, one can enter the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal realm."
Jieyin carefully explained the cultivation experience and various thresholds of the Primordial Unity Golden Immortal realm to Jiang Yun. These insights would allow him to avoid many detours and wrong paths, enabling smooth progress in his cultivation.
