Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Saint 198 Zhunti and Jieyin completed their long-held vow to restore the West; the restoration’s accumulated Merit resonated with their Hongmeng Purple Qi, leading them to proclaim their achievement before Heaven and Earth. 198

Background / History

Zhunti resided at Mount Sumeru with his senior brother, Jieyin. When Jieyin returned from his travels with the newly accepted Jiang Yun, Zhunti awaited them outside the mountain’s Grand Hall and was introduced as Jiang Yun’s Uncle-Master. 13

At Purple Heaven Palace, Zhunti perceived that the six meditation cushions carried an opportunity essential to the West’s prosperity. He urged Jieyin to contend for them, then secured a seat through Hongyun’s voluntary concession. Rather than claim it himself, Zhunti placed Jieyin on the cushion first and promised that the Mount Sumeru lineage would repay Hongyun’s favor. 18 19

He and Jieyin subsequently dedicated themselves to restoring the damaged Western World: establishing the Western Teachings, repairing Earth and Spirit Veins, and guiding the region’s inhabitants. When the Western Earth Veins were nearly fully restored and the Demon Abyss had been resolved, their Merit and Hongmeng Purple Qi enabled both brothers to become Saints. 198

Appearance

Zhunti is depicted as a dignified Daoist whose bearing combines golden radiance with the tranquil resonance of Great Nirvana. 13

  • Face compared to a full moon within golden haze. 13
  • White hair between his brows, described as swirling like starlit sand. 13
  • Golden-yellow Daoist robe. 13
  • Usually carries the Seven Treasures Wonderful Tree in his left hand. 13
  • Forms the Great Compassion Seal with his right hand. 13

Personality

Zhunti is perceptive, quick-witted, and more socially adept than Jieyin. During the contest for the Purple Heaven Palace cushions, he was willing to risk embarrassment by negotiating for seats rather than provoke a conflict inside a Saint’s dojo. 18

He is pragmatic about the shifting power balance of the Primordial Desolation. He immediately recognized that Hongjun’s appointments of the East King Duke and Queen Mother of the West placed them in danger between stronger, ambitious factions. 61

Despite this realism, Zhunti remains committed to the Western Teachings’ larger mission. He advocates patience and concentrating strength until the proper moment, arguing that only becoming Saints would give the group sufficient authority to advance their plans. 188

Abilities & Skills

Nirvana Dharma

Zhunti can manifest his own Nirvana Dharma and combine it with the powers of Jieyin and Ziwei Star Lord.

  • Joined Jieyin’s Karma Dharma and Ziwei’s Dao to form a Dharma blade that severed Chaos chains binding the Mysterious Turtle’s soul. 114
  • His aura is associated with the pure Dao resonance of Great Nirvana. 13

Seven Treasures Wonderful Tree

Zhunti’s signature spiritual treasure emits seven-colored divine light and is effective against corrupted or hostile forces.

  • Swept away Chaos-corrupted Fierce Beasts, cutting them apart into black mist. 134
  • Dispelled lingering black mist infused with the Reincarnation Demon God’s power in the Nine Netherworlds. 145
  • Used to manifest Dao trajectories while explaining that many Daos can lead toward Primordial Chaos. 201

Strategic Insight

Zhunti consistently assesses wider political and cosmological threats.

  • Predicted conflict between the East King Duke and Di Jun after Hongjun’s enfeoffments. 61
  • Identified the Witch Clan, Demon Clan, and Immortal Court as the likely principal forces in the coming Great Calamity. 121
  • Warned that Hongjun, as a Chaos Demon God, would oppose efforts to repair the West, open the Abyss, and awaken the Ways of Earth and Man. 154

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Seven Treasures Wonderful Tree — Zhunti’s primary spiritual treasure; channels seven-colored divine light and manifests Dao principles. 13 134 201
  • Illuminating Nether Mirror — A high-grade spiritual treasure obtained in the Nine Netherworlds; it can illuminate a being’s past and present lives and aligns with reincarnation. 145
  • Great Compassion Seal — A hand seal Zhunti forms as part of his usual bearing. 13

  • Jiang Yun — Nephew-disciple and Jieyin’s direct disciple; Zhunti welcomed him to Mount Sumeru, offered cultivation guidance, and worked with him on the Western Teachings’ plans. 13 51 154
  • Hongyun — Benefactor who gave up his Purple Heaven Palace seat for the Mount Sumeru lineage; Zhunti pledged to repay the favor and later helped guide Hongyun toward understanding his own Dao. 19 201

Story Role / Major Arcs

Purple Heaven Palace and the Meditation Cushions

Zhunti recognized the importance of the six meditation cushions and pressed for Mount Sumeru to obtain them. Hongyun’s concession allowed Jieyin to secure one, creating a lasting debt of gratitude between the Western lineage and Hongyun. 18 19

Revival of the West

Alongside Jieyin and Jiang Yun, Zhunti helped direct Mount Sumeru’s long-term effort to repair the West’s damaged Earth Veins and restore its vitality. He viewed this work as directly opposed to Hongjun’s designs for the Primordial Desolation. 147 154 198

Resistance to Hongjun

Zhunti participated in the investigation of the Nine Netherworlds and the Abyss, using the Seven Treasures Wonderful Tree to clear lingering Chaos contamination. He also joined broader efforts among major factions to counter Hongjun after learning of his identity as a Chaos Demon God. 145 154

Attainment of Sainthood

With the Western World largely restored, Zhunti and Jieyin’s Merit became complete. Their enlightenment and the resonance of their Hongmeng Purple Qi culminated in their joint proclamation and ascension as Saints. 198

Guidance to Hongyun

When Hongyun sought help over his stalled pursuit of Sainthood, Zhunti explained that diverse Daos could lead toward Primordial Chaos. Together with Jieyin, he urged Hongyun to examine whether he desired to be bound by the Heavenly Dao or follow a free and personal path. 201

Foreboding Before the Final Calamity

During a period of apparent prosperity driven by restoration and reincarnation projects, Zhunti and Jieyin sensed stagnation and an approaching crisis. 284

Notable Quotes

“Currently, the Witch and Demon Clans are powerful in the Primordial Desolation. The Dao Ancestor has placed the East King Duke and the Queen Mother of the West at the head of the male and female immortals, essentially putting them on the spot!” 61

“It is not about giving up. It is about waiting for the right time.” 188

“The ultimate pursuit of the Primordial Chaos Dao is to integrate myriad Daos into one, or to evolve myriad Daos from one.” 201

Trivia

  • Zhunti’s social skill contrasts with Jieyin’s more cultivation-focused temperament; he was the one prepared to negotiate for meditation cushions at Purple Heaven Palace. 18
  • He chose to let Jieyin occupy Hongyun’s surrendered cushion before taking a place himself. 19
  • Zhunti regarded the Illuminating Nether Mirror as his rightful share after Hongyun had already obtained a spiritual treasure in the Nine Netherworlds. 145
