Background / History

Li Yuan finds Juhua as an injured, orange-patterned kitten in the Sunset Great Forest. After treating its wounds and feeding it roasted meat, he adopts it and imposes the name “Juhua” despite its resistance. 8

Juhua later reveals its true identity as a Ninety-Thousand-Year Netherlight Orange Cat. It initially claims Li Yuan as its “human pet,” compelling him to cook while providing food, protection, and access to dangerous areas of the forest. 10 11

Before meeting Li Yuan, Juhua had been close to reaching the Hundred-Thousand-Year threshold through the Void Grass at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eyes. Dugu Bo’s Poison Array injured Juhua and ruined that plan, creating a lasting grudge against the Poison Douluo. 12 20

Li Yuan and Juhua infiltrate the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eyes together. Juhua retrieves the Void Grass, eventually evolves into a Hundred-Thousand-Year Void Orange Cat, and becomes the leading Soul Beast in the Sunset Great Forest. 20 28

Appearance

Juhua usually presents as an unusually plump orange cat, concealing the threat posed by its cultivation. Its true Soul Beast form is vastly larger and can be used for high-speed travel or battle. 15 36

Food is Juhua’s most consistent weakness. Its appetite drives many decisions, including pressuring Li Yuan to accept Ning Rongrong’s lucrative escort offer and helping turn the Sunset Great Forest’s high-level Soul Beasts into idle game-playing gluttons. 28 70
