Lu Xin investigated the convoy’s disappearances, confronted the Black Table operatives behind them, and uncovered Zhao Hui’s scheme against Gao Ting. After a violent arrest and a Flesh Monster outbreak, Qinggang released Lu Xin to investigate a secret White Tower Town base and Black Table experiments on second-stage Madmen.

• Lu Xin joined Gao Ting’s convoy in Satellite City No. 7, reported Zhao Hui for soliciting bribes, and exposed him at the warehouse.
• When convoy members began vanishing, Lu Xin deduced that an invisible Mental Monster abducted people who were not being watched and confronted the one-eyed man controlling the attack.
• Lu Xin exposed the suited man’s observation-based ability, but the man escaped with Ying after a baby-like cry disrupted Father’s attack.
• Lu Xin identified Mizang as the source of the disappearances, secured it and the stolen research evidence, and called the police, who arrived with Zhao Hui and General Manager Wang.
• Zhao Hui revealed his plans for Gao Ting and threatened the convoy, so Lu Xin shot him and was taken to the detention center while Li Gang challenged the arrest.
• Chen Xun recruited Zhao Shiming for the Black Table, while Flesh Monsters spread through Central City and Lu Xin escaped his cell briefly to protect the guards.
• Chen Jing arranged Lu Xin’s release and took him to meet Gecko and Xia Chong, who reported the Flesh Monster attacks and outlined a mission to investigate the secret base in White Tower Town.

Lu Xin, Chen Jing, and Gecko entered Buffalo City to find Black Table’s laboratory and confront Chen Xun, while the city’s mental pollution trapped and attacked the investigating teams. Lu Xin recognized the stitched girl as Little Nineteen and reached Chen Xun, who revealed that he had kept her alive and warned that his Wish Countdown could trigger if disturbed.

• Chen Jing and Lu Xin’s team learned that Black Table was studying the anomalous entity “Life” and left Central City for Buffalo City, where Chen Xun and Zhao Shiming were believed to be building a laboratory.
• The little monster helped Lu Xin, Chen Jing, and Gecko pass the blockade, but they found Buffalo City distorted by a memory-based illusion that the 2-48-Memoir Videotape was sustaining.
• Chen Jing used her ability to lead the team out of the illusion, and they reached the laboratory courtyard, where figures copied Gecko and attacked them.
• Lu Xin and the other teams encountered deadly threats across the city, including flesh monsters, eye-covered alleys, and the knife-wielding stitched girl.
• Lu Xin recognized the stitched girl as Little Nineteen and stopped her from killing more people, then used a distorted force field to save the others from her threads and embraced her.
• Little Nineteen called Lu Xin a “big monster” and escaped, while Xia Chong took command after learning that Captain Li and five others had died.
• Lu Xin entered the abandoned building and found Chen Xun in a candlelit bar, where Chen Xun said he had kept Little Nineteen alive and warned that harming him or his Wish Countdown stopwatch would trigger his wish.

Lu Xin confronted the Black Table’s God’s Body experiment in Buffalo City, remembered his promise to Little Nineteen, and stopped the Flesh Monster with Father’s power. After the crisis, the Research Institute identified Lu Xin as a Third Stage Creation and brought him into the search for Professor Wang Jingyun, ending with Xia Chong showing him a dangerous Pollution Source in the abyss.

• Chen Xun revealed that the Black Table had tried to make a god descend as a controllable tool, and Lu Xin left him to investigate the sounds of suffering below.
• Zhao Shiming opened the tank and unleashed a tentacled god that overwhelmed the joint team and spread Flesh Monsters throughout Buffalo City.
• Lu Xin shot Zhao Shiming and fought the god, but it re-formed and fled through the city as a vast Flesh Monster.
• Lu Xin found Little Nineteen among the god’s copies, remembered his promise to the children, and fought through the monster to reach its main body.
• Lu Xin trusted Father, whose fear crystallized the Flesh Monster across Buffalo City and stopped the crisis.
• Lu Xin carried Little Nineteen’s crystal statue back to the team, then learned from Chen Xun that he remained part of the Teacher’s experiment.
• At the Research Institute, An Sisi told Lu Xin about Wang Jingyun’s attempt to implant thirteen mental entities and identified Lu Xin as a stable Third Stage Creation with the potential to reach the Seventh Step.
• Lu Xin refused to become an experimental subject and said he needed to find Wang Jingyun and rescue the surviving children, so Xia Chong took him into the abyss to inspect its greatest Pollution Source.

Lu Xin learned that the Abyss was breaking into reality and agreed to help Qinggang investigate Happy Town. After discovering that an area-wide pollution field had killed the observation station staff and soldiers while making them act alive, he joined forces with the dead to find a way to destroy it.

• Dr. An revealed that the Abyss was a vast Pollution Source connected to reality by widening rifts, and asked Lu Xin to help clear Happy Town.
• Lu Xin accepted the mission as a responsibility, received access to the Advanced Talent Club, and returned to Qinggang with Chen Jing.
• Lu Xin told his family he would take the step they believed he should, then joined the task force preparing to investigate Happy Town.
• Lu Xin visited Doll, who had been lonely in his absence, and later Chen Jing chose him to investigate the contaminated observation station.
• Lu Xin found the observation post's staff and advance team dead but behaving as if alive, and learned that realizing their deaths caused unbearable pain and threatened mutation.
• The dead people's mental entities began merging into a monster, while Lu Xin learned that the contamination field extended at least thirty li and the teams sent to nearby Songshan Town had disappeared.
• Mechanic identified the team's devices as signal stabilizers that could be maintaining the field, and Captain Li Jian and four soldiers offered to help Lu Xin destroy it.
• Lu Xin and the soldiers cremated the dead and met Researcher Wang Song, who identified the devices as signal converters and prepared an algorithm as Captain Li Jian relayed the order to destroy the contamination field.
