Total loss of power
"Have you thought of a name for the child yet?" Audrey asked again.
Brian replied, "If it's a boy, we'll call him William. If it's a girl, it'll be Jean."
"Hmm, what a beautiful name." He handed the photo back to Brian.
The man who received the photo looked at his wife in the picture and smiled sweetly. But he retorted, "And what about you, kid?"
Henry raised his hands in a gesture of surrender and said, "I'm currently looking for a girlfriend." He then turned to the other three and asked, "And you guys, tough guys?"
Sam clinked glasses with Mark, raised his glass, and said, "Happy Singles!"
Old Bernie raised his glass and said, "Divorced! Thank goodness. As long as I transfer the alimony to her account on time every month..."
That way, you won't have to see her true colors.
"Kid, I'm warning you, never get married. It'll make you feel like you're dead, living in Hell."
Even if I were shot and hospitalized, I wouldn't be in this much pain.
Audrey Hepburn, of course, couldn't stand such remarks. She slapped Henry on the shoulder and said, "Don't believe him, boy. You should know that the best things in the world are being with your loved one and watching your children grow up."
"If you don't get married and have children, you won't experience these wonderful things, and your life will be incomplete. That would be a waste of God's creation of both man and woman."
In short, Henry was listening to Audrey's nagging about her mother with one ear, and to the four soldiers' infighting over marriage with the other. Luckily, the guns lying in the hallway were all out of ammunition, otherwise these guys would have started a shootout.
Suddenly, the plane made a sharp turn, shattering the lively atmosphere. Brian said thoughtfully, "We're turning towards the Gulf of Aden." With that, he got up and went to the cockpit to ask the captain.
When Brian returned, he told everyone the answer, "We are now going through the Gulf of Aden and into the Red Sea. After that, we will turn towards southern Saudi Arabia, where a U.S. military base is already urgently setting up runway guidance lights for us."
"Can we fly there?" The Old Bernie, was the one responsible for offering differing opinions or ideas. He faithfully fulfilled his duty, questioning Brian.
"Yes, it's possible." After saying that, Brian nodded emphatically and added, "It absolutely is!"
Henry stopped trying to lighten the mood. The cabin immediately turned into a mournful atmosphere. The fact that this group of people didn't lose control, shout insults, or make random accusations was already quite civilized and showed great self-control.
Audrey Hepburn gripped Henry's hand tightly once again. Of course, she couldn't possibly hurt the Kryptonian, but this time her emotions were undoubtedly more tense.
Seeing this, Henry placed his other hand on top, patted it gently, and said, "Don't worry, I'm here."
Audrey responded with a somewhat forced, bitter smile and said nothing more.
She probably just thought that even with Steel Body that was impervious to blades and bullets, it wouldn't be of much use in a situation like this. That's what Henry guessed.
The fact that I can fly should be kept secret as much as possible. There's no point in revealing it prematurely; the plane isn't doomed anyway.
It just seems a bit difficult right now.
Therefore, most people still pinned their hopes on the experienced captain.
Just as they were making their second sharp turn, everyone thought they were about to enter Saudi Arabia airspace.
This time, the turn was quick and easy, and the engine noise stopped. The normal cabin lights went out, leaving only the emergency lights providing a dim illumination.
Modern passenger planes are equipped with ram air turbines, which automatically eject from the fuselage in the event of engine failure. The turbines generate electricity using the flowing air to maintain the normal operation of essential onboard equipment.
Then Brian spoke up again, "Don't worry, everyone. It's just that both engines have failed. As long as we don't overload the system, we won't crash to the ground immediately."
"Based on the experience of Air Canada Flight 143 in 1983, we can treat the passenger plane like a glider and maintain its flight attitude in the air. We just need to arrive at the airport just before it touches down."
After saying that, Brian stood up again and said, "I'm going to talk to the captain."
The veterans didn't say anything, but Audrey just kept holding onto Henry's hand.
The Kryptonian also noticed that the flight attendant had finished all the remaining alcoholic beverages and gotten herself completely drunk.
People are now secured to their seats with seatbelts, their heads drooping to one side. It looks extremely unprofessional, but no one will blame her.
Henry also overheard the captain muttering complaints about under-turning and an excessively rapid descent rate. He was extremely pessimistic about whether they could reach the U.S. military base.
The other three soldiers, who had been brooding for a long time, seemed to be on the verge of exploding. Any bad news that reached their ears...
It is likely a man-made disaster.
Henry couldn't help but recall the entire incident from beginning to end. Was there any step that could have been intervened earlier, allowing things to proceed more smoothly? With less media attention, would the group have been able to return safely?
In order not to expose himself, he allowed those black men to chase after him and shoot him.
Although they successfully shook off their opponents and prevented them from stopping the plane from taking off, who knew that the final, furious strafing would...
Machine gun bullets would hit the plane's fuel tank precisely, causing most of the fuel to leak out.
This truly proves the saying, "A mountain nine ren high can be ruined by a single reed."
Henry now fully understood what it meant to try to be cool but end up looking like a complete idiot.
Henry patted the woman, Hepburn, who was gripping him tightly, unbuckled his seatbelt, stood up, and said, "Everyone, please hear me out."
Aside from the flight attendant who was completely drunk, everyone else looked at Henry in the dim light. Even Brian came out of the cockpit and looked at the person who was speaking.
Henry said, "I have a secret, and I hope everyone will keep it a secret. It concerns what I'm going to do next."
Sam, the most impatient of them all, jumped up and shouted, "We're all going to die, does it matter if we keep it a secret or not?"
"Don't be angry, tough guy. It's precisely because everyone survived that I'm asking you to keep this a secret. You don't think I'm using this opportunity to confess my secrets to you like Priest, do you?"
"Henry, we know how to keep secrets. Go ahead and say it," Brian, the most perceptive of them all, understood his assistant's implication and promised.
With a confident smile, Henry said, "It's too much trouble to explain, you'll see for yourselves. Now, follow my instructions: everyone, get back in your seats and fasten your seatbelts securely."
"The cabin will depressurize soon, so you'll have to make sure you don't get sucked out. And Brian, I need your help. But first, you'll need to find a rope to secure yourself."
