Those whose paths of fate had changed
The door to the Large Cerebral Wave Amplification Chamber is a bank vault-grade iron door with a huge "X" mark on it, making it look particularly flashy.
The door had no manual lock or keypad lock; instead, there was a scanner in the center. The scanner's height was just right for Professor X, who was sitting in a wheelchair.
He remained motionless, allowing the scanner to verify his Iris and facial features.
"Welcome, Professor X," a female voice announced over the loudspeaker, and the doors opened simultaneously.
Everyone else followed Professor X's wheelchair into the extended platform of the Cerebral Wave Amplification Chamber. However, this time, Henry did not go in.
"Aren't you coming along?" Cyclops asked as he walked past, his tone slightly provocative, though not overtly so.
Henry answered directly, "I'll just wait outside. I don't necessarily have to go inside."
Cyclops nodded to the other new generation of X-Men, as if to remind them to keep an eye on the man, before turning and entering the brainwave enhancement chamber.
Henry watched as Professor X put on the helmet and used his mutant powers. The scene Cerebral Wave Amplification Chamber didn't change like in the movies; it was like entering a world of converged consciousness, where Professor X could explore and command at will.
It will look the same as it did originally, even after it's started.
However, from the Kryptonian ' perspective, the Cerebral Wave Amplification Chamber, due to its spherical shape, caused a large number of special Electromagnetic Waves inside to be constantly refracted and bounced, becoming so disordered that they were difficult to discern.
This made Henry somewhat relieved; he realized he had Reason not to go into that room.
Standing outside, with the X-shaped iron gate open, Henry felt dizzy from the light. Even if Professor X wasn't deliberately targeting him inside, Henry couldn't guarantee he would still be conscious.
However, when you're out in the world, you're bound to come into contact with that group of Next-Generation X-Men. A tall guy with Slavic features glanced at him, looking like he wanted to get closer but didn't dare to be too presumptuous.
Henry noticed this, looked at the tall young man, and said directly, "Just say what you want to say. Don't act so coy; it's not like a man."
"Excuse me, sir. May I ask if you are Mr. Henry Brown?"
"Perhaps I am. And you are—?"
"Sorry I didn't introduce myself first." The shy young man said respectfully, "I am Piotr Nikolayevich Rasputin. My friends call me Peter, or Colossus."
As he spoke, the young man transformed himself into steel, demonstrating his mutant abilities. "I just want to know, are you Henry Brown, the one who assisted the police and firefighters during the September 11 attacks and was among the first to participate in the rescue efforts?"
"No."
"Oh, that's wonderful. Because you look just like you did back then—right?" The young man, who had intended to step forward to shake hands, froze on the spot, his hand still raised, unsure whether to go forward or back.
Ignoring the bewildered young man, Henry turned his head away and said, "It's a very common name, you might be confusing me with someone else."
"Mr. Rasputin, you must understand that perhaps not everyone likes to be recognized at the wrong time and place."
Remaining silent, and occasionally being a little forgetful, can sometimes be a wise virtue.
Colossus, instead of being angry after being reprimanded, appeared ashamed. "I'm sorry, sir, it was my oversight. I'll forget about anything involving you, I promise."
"Looks like a good kid," Henry thought, about to say something to smooth things over, when a voice beside him interrupted his thoughts.
"No need to apologize, Peter. This man is more dangerous than you think. The truly wise thing to do is stay away from him." The speaker was Jean Grey, who had just emerged from the Cerebral Wave Amplification Chamber.
Jean Grey, who was originally supposed to disappear while saving the other X-Men during the explosion and dam collapse at the U.S. military Alkali Base, would later be completely transformed into Dark Phoenix, first killing Cyclops, then joining the Brotherhood of Mutants, and joining Magneto's rebellion.
But Alkali Base was first destroyed by Henry, who was dressed in Boar Mech.
With William Stryker gone, the remaining U.S. military apparently didn't clash with the Mutants. Naturally, there was no accidental explosion of the dam during the battle, causing it to collapse, so Jean Grey remained in the X-Men.
Having already had her destiny altered, will the Phoenix achieves success) repeat the same mistakes?
When dealing with someone like that, one can only be more cautious and careful, to avoid becoming the element that drives the other person down the path of villainy. Therefore, when Jean Grey openly mocks him, Henry has no intention of retaliating.
On the other hand, of course, it's because Professor X has already found the answer he wanted, and Storm is pushing him out in his wheelchair. "Mr. Brown, regarding the situation in Raccoon City, Colorado, I can only say that the current situation is even worse than what you've described."
Even if I conservatively believe that the future infection situation will not be as serious as you say, it is still beyond the capacity of the bureaucratic U.S. government to handle in a timely manner.
"Therefore, I agree to provide Blackbird Jet to assist you in transporting necessary personnel and equipment into the affected area. The X-Men, including myself, will also join us. However, not all of us will be going; you understand that, right?"
Henry nodded in agreement. "Of course, the most important thing when entering the epidemic area is to protect yourself. People who can't protect themselves will only cause trouble for others and won't be of any help at all."
"While asking this question now isn't exactly friendly, it will affect command later—"
Stopping Professor X from continuing, Henry said directly, "For me, the most important thing is having a plane to transport my people and equipment there. What If...? I have any additional needs, I will request assistance from the X-Men."
"Whether you accept or not is up to you to decide. I will not interfere or force you. After all, it wouldn't be a good thing to entrust your abilities and how you want to use them to someone you don't know well."
Professor X agreed to this approach. "Scott, also known as Cyclops, is the commander of our team. What If...? you need anything, just contact him."
"Okay." Henry reached out his Cyclops as a gesture of goodwill.
Although slightly hesitant, he still reached out and grasped the Cyclops. His tone was no longer overly confrontational. "Where are we supposed to go to pick up your people and equipment?"
Henry glanced at his watch. "Look at the Tablet in Ms. Grey's hand. Leave that with you for now; the meeting place and time will be communicated to you through that Tablet."
"You can start preparing now. I expect we should be leaving within an hour or two. After all, the sooner we arrive in Raccoon City and the faster we can handle the situation, the safer the world will be. And the safer we will be."
