The Trouble That Followed
What Henry didn't say was that What If...? one or two people died, enough to fill Phoenix with immense guilt, the matter would be settled. Her return would only be a matter of time.
So we shouldn't have saved that female Mutants who could still talk non-stop. And it seems like in the movie, she really did die.
Mystique retorted angrily, "Then why don't you go up and get hit yourself? Why do you have to push us out like this!"
"Hey, the key is to make that girl feel guilty. Without that feeling, no matter how many heads you send, it's useless. So tell me, what role can a stranger like me play? I'm not as good as you guys," Henry said gloatingly.
Finally, Cyclops had been excitedly waiting, seized his chance and jumped out. He grabbed Henry by the collar and demanded sharply, "What exactly do you know?"
"Be good, close your eyes." Henry said this, and then with lightning speed, he pulled off Cyclops's eye patch.
The young man was so frightened that he immediately closed his eyes and covered his face, cursing loudly, "You damned bastard, you've used this trick again!"
Cyclops, however, wanted to unleash his powers and teach this alien a lesson.
But he was on his own turf, in the infirmary, surrounded by his own people. After losing his blindfold...
He even had difficulty controlling the Optic Blast. To avoid accidentally injuring his own people, he had no choice but to close his eyes!
Seeing that he had succeeded once again, Henry said smugly, "Hehe, it works well." He then threw the blindfold into Storm's hand, who was also showing signs of making a move, thus preventing her from doing so.
Storm quickly returned the eye patch to Cyclops and even helped him put it on.
Fortunately, Cyclops still retained some rationality and didn't start a battle with the alien in the infirmary. He just glared angrily at it. Although others couldn't see his eyes, judging from his heaving chest, he was indeed quite angry.
Henry then said, "I don't know the whole story, so I can only tell you what I saw. First of all, your companion who slacked off is just like a frightened little girl at this moment."
"If you ask me for help, I can at most cover your losses and prevent major casualties. Have any of you ever seen a way to comfort your own daughter by calling the neighbor to beat her up and stop her from crying?"
"So I'm not taking action to avoid escalating the conflict and making things even more difficult to manage. — It's absolutely not because I'm afraid of the Phoenix Force, absolutely not!" — You can only try to persuade him yourselves.
"Secondly, I don't know if you've noticed, but it's because I haven't met that girl many times that I feel he gives me a different feeling than the last time we met."
"I originally thought his mutant ability wasn't outwardly apparent and wouldn't change his appearance. But this time,..."
I have observed more than once that there seems to be light flowing under his skin.
"This phenomenon is accompanied by his emotions; the more agitated he is, the more obvious the light stream becomes. Moreover, it seems that this ability only brings him pain. I have observed his pained expression with furrowed brows more than once."
"So the best thing to do for him right now is to find a quiet place for him to stay, away from external stimuli. Time can heal most wounds, and even physical discomfort needs time to adjust."
"However, it seems you can't do a single thing. There's no trace of that girl, and after he overturned two police cars, I don't think the government will give you much time to react."
Mutants seem accepted in this world because they are not outside the jurisdiction of the government. There are not only law enforcement forces equipped to deal with all kinds of Mutants, but also special prisons specifically for imprisoning people with all sorts of strange abilities.
Even Omega-level Mutants like Square Magneto and Professor X, if the right methods are found, the current U.S. government is capable of dealing with Mutants criminals.
However, when encountering an entity of such extraordinary power, dispatching the X- X-Men is the best option to minimize casualties. Therefore, in Professor X's study, there is a hotline that directly contacts the President of the United States.
Then, unfortunately, Henry had just overheard the White House unilaterally shutting down the hotline using his Super Hearing. Professor X was in his office, furious and powerless.
This behavior is completely different from Professor X's usual image as a wise and insightful person.
The reason why Professor X in this world is so deeply involved with the U.S. government is still unclear. However, Henry has no intention of exploring this matter.
"What do you think happened to Jean?" Mystique, lying on the hospital bed, asked the question. Though he was reluctant, he still inquired about the person he cared about.
Henry shrugged and said, "I don't know his recent condition, how could I know what happened? The only guess is that it must have started recently."
"His current behavior is more like someone who's overeaten and needs time to digest. It's just that a series of external events are preventing him from focusing on dealing with his physical problems."
Cyclops shouted excitedly from the side, "Sun Pharma flare! It must be from the mission to save the Endeavour. Jean absorbed the effects of that Sun Pharma flare. If we can find a way to release it, maybe the problem will be solved!"
I didn't want to discourage this optimistic young man at all. If he mistook that thing for a Sun Pharma flare, he was destined for a dead end. But Henry had no obligation to tell him, and besides, he had no evidence or countermeasures. Saying more would only make things worse.
So Henry, following Cyclops's lead, said, "Great, then your only problem now is dealing with the U.S. government."
"Solve the U.S. government?" Beast Hank said casually, unaware of the gravity of the situation.
Henry said, "Two police cars were smashed. The police officers weren't killed, but they were definitely injured. They also damaged civilian property. If it were an ordinary person, and their identities were known, they would have been arrested by the Police Station long ago."
"You can't expect him to be one of your own, so the government has to ignore such crimes. Oh."
I have to say first that the ditch I dug in town was also created thanks to that girl's efforts.
"So you have to help me find a solution, or pretend you know nothing. Anyway, you want compensation from me."
Or they might try to hold me responsible, but I'll deny everything. I'm currently in Switzerland, not in the United States.
Looking back, although I didn't destroy any houses, I certainly smashed and damaged a lot of walls and fences. Not to mention the damage I caused to other people's yards and the asphalt roads.
In short, the answer is always the same: I'm in Switzerland. What happens in United States is none of my business.
To cut the subject, Henry added, "Do you have any other questions? If not, I'm leaving. And it's best not to come looking for me again."
