If he really wanted to chat, Henry, with his acting skills on point, could easily take the initiative. But today's experience gave him some pause, and he wasn't in a hurry to befriend John Wick, a main character.

Henry turned to Mooney Fisher, the manager of the Continental Hotel in Los Angeles, and placed a Gold Coin in front of her, saying, "A Gold Coin, a promise, is that it?"

"As Mr. Wick just said, I also have the right to refuse," Mooney Fisher declared confidently.

"Actually, I was just asking, because I wasn't sure if you could do it."

This little provocation wasn't enough to upset Mooney Fisher. She asked, "What is it?"

"I was taken to that black congressman's place, it was two FBI agents who did it. Now he's been taken care of by your people, and I'm still alive. Can you get rid of this mess?"

If everyone in a place dies and only one person survives, it's hard not to be seen as a suspect or accomplice.

If the FBI is eager to close the case, Henry will be the perfect scapegoat. It's like a huge burden has fallen from the sky, and there's no escaping it.

So it's not unreasonable to let the person who made this mess solve the problem themselves.

Mooney Fisher glanced at Henry's smiling face, which, combined with his inappropriate attire, made it clear to Mooney that this request was both a test and a trial.

What If...? the Continental Hotel don't have the capability to resolve this problem, then Henry certainly doesn't need to cooperate with such a entity. Without a basis for cooperation, there's no way to talk about how to subdue this Mutants.

However, Mooney Fisher wasn't about to give up so easily. She shook her head bluntly and said, "This isn't enough." She took a pocket watch-sized amulet from her subordinate, placed it next to the Gold Coin Henry had given her, and said, "Press your bloody handprint, and I'll help you."

"What is this?" The Kryptonian feigned ignorance, simply picking up the pocket watch-like object and examining it closely, even opening it to look inside.

"The Blood Marker represents an irrefutable commitment."

Having received the answer, Henry seemed to realize the purpose of the sharp needle above the Blood Marker in his hand. But he simply shook his head and said, "This won't work."

"Oh, you don't think what you want me to do is simple, do you?"

"No, I mean this won't do." With that, Henry pretended to press his thumb firmly against the needle on the blood pact several times, slightly bending the needle each time, before showing off his unharmed thumb.

Now it was Mooney Fisher's turn to be speechless. She hadn't expected this outcome. She asked, "You can't do anything about it yourself? What If...? get sick and need an injection?"

"I can only pray to God that I don't get sick." Henry made the sign of the cross on his chest, put down the Blood Marker, and then reached for the Gold Coin on the table.

The moment his hand reached out, it was pressed down by Mooney's well-maintained, soft, and supple yellow fingers. But she didn't accept the Gold Coin Henry offered; she simply took them and played with them in her hand, asking, "What If...? I can help you, what else can you do for me?"

"Hmm, here's another Gold Coin for you?"

"Quantity is meaningless," Mooney refused.

This is a rule set by the High Table; Gold Coin are merely a "ticket," a promise. But there are still places that even Gold Coin can't get you in. In those cases, what good will presenting more tickets do?

It's like asking a High Table member for a favor; even presenting a blood pact might not get them to agree. So, even if you offered a handful of Gold Coin, would they even bother with it?

Who would be short of Gold Coin at their High Table? This is a circle for the poor.

"Well—" After glancing around and seeing that there were still many injured people resting in the hall, Henry stated his condition. "If something like this happens again in the future, can I help out?"

That was actually Henry's real purpose.

Learning medicine through normal channels, especially accumulating clinical experience, is simply too troublesome.

Leaving aside the backstabbing and infighting within the hospital, there's the question of how to get the surgeon to choose you as their assistant until you can operate on your own.

This isn't something that can be earned simply by being "excellent." Without connections or extra effort, do you really think that an opportunity that so many others are vying for will easily fall into your lap?

To avoid medical disputes, one must comply with regulations at every turn. To maintain the prestige of doctors and the high cost of medical care, one is forced to do things against one's conscience to conform to the United States medical environment and atmosphere.

This doesn't even include the many shady dealings hidden beneath the surface of the pharmaceutical and medical equipment industry.

Rather than that, he might as well become a clandestine doctor. Those who would seek out a part-time doctor like him are either poor or not very respectable.

What might happen to someone like that if they survive? If they die, would they dare sue someone in Court?

At most, they'd gather a group of underworld buddies and demand an explanation from this quack doctor Deadman. That's the kind of thing...

Would Kryptonian be afraid?

Henry's decision to take this path was certainly not driven by any compassionate sentiment. He simply felt remorseful for having recently witnessed a woman suffering from illness, and for being powerless to help as Kryptonian.

Although he had acquired a considerable amount of medical knowledge through books and journals, his lack of clinical experience prevented Henry from confidently claiming he could cure all diseases. This caused the lady's condition to be delayed, ultimately leading to regret.

What If...? someone is not afraid of death and comes to Henry's clinic on their own initiative, wouldn't that be a win-win situation?

At least my goal is to cure people, not to make healthy people sick just to see how they react to some bacteria or virus—that kind of inhumane behavior.

In other words, such horrific human experimentation was a taboo area for Henry.

However, considering reality, most people who seek out unlicensed healers are those who cannot go to regular hospitals, and they seek treatment for injuries that are difficult to diagnose, such as knife wounds or gunshot wounds.

If we become even more unrestrained, we might end up with lazy babies.

The opportunities to see rare and complex cases, or even to personally treat them, are likely to be limited, just like in a medical center.

Or they are poor people who can't afford medical bills, and only when they are on their deathbed do they come to the quack doctor to try their luck.

-At this stage, it's impossible to say it's not challenging. This is a real battle against death.

The more Henry considered it, the better he felt the idea was. He could say that if the Continental Hotel didn't want to cooperate, they could do it themselves.

Medical equipment is certainly not a problem for the Kryptonian ' craftsmanship.

Those drugs are a good opportunity to practice my chemical synthesis skills. It's not like I'm making counterfeit drugs, it's just that they don't come from legitimate pharmaceutical factories.

So Henry's eyes lit up, and he asked the manager of the Continental Hotel, "How about it, Ms. Fisher? Could this cooperation arrangement be exchanged for your services?"
