Barbara used her key to open the hotel room door. Unsurprisingly, a Black man was sitting in the brightly lit room, cutting a steak.

The Black man noticed Barbara closing the door. He peeked in and asked, "Bobbie, didn't the target follow you up?"

"No, Nick Fury. He said he had to go back to feed the cats and left." Barbara tossed her coat onto the bed and rudely kicked off her shoes, walking barefoot on the hotel room carpet.

Nick Fury, while eating his steak, said, "I hope you don't mind, I've been waiting for you guys and I'm starving." "Of course I don't mind, it's all on company money anyway. You're not going to say you won't reimburse me and I have to find a way to get it done myself, are you?"

Of course not.

Barbara murmured, "Luckily he didn't come up. Otherwise, seeing this scene would definitely make people think that I, this bad woman, tricked him into coming here, when in fact it was just an old gay man groping his white butt."

"Ahem! Well, Bobbie, trainee agent, now it's your turn to report on your mission," Nick Fury said with an air of importance. He would have been even more convincing What If...? he had put down his knife and fork and stopped eating.

Barbara poured herself a glass of red wine, downed it in one gulp, and then said, "What If...? I were to say that this man is quite good and very intelligent, at least he has a wealth of knowledge, able to rattle off the names and stories of celebrities on the Hollywood Walk of Fame without hesitation."

"Of course, it's possible he was just saying it seriously, but actually it was all nonsense. But I didn't detect any flaws in his story. Actually, if we don't make him a colleague, I think he'd be a good boyfriend."

"Are you serious? Is this what you're going to report?" Nick Fury was exasperated by the speech of this bright girl who had come to S.H.I.E.L.D..'s attention in high school for helping biology professor Wilma Carl develop the Super-Soldier Serum, and who was speaking in a way that was beyond her years.

"Of course it's not just that. It's just that I went straight to the conclusion from the beginning, so you wouldn't hear what you wanted to hear. Wouldn't that be very disappointing?"

"What do you mean?" Nick Fury put down his knife and fork and said seriously, "Are you saying that this man has problems and isn't suitable for us?"

"Whether he's a good fit is hard to say. Although we haven't ascertained his political leanings yet, his words reveal a distrust of the government. However, it's limited to a few sarcastic remarks; there haven't been any more extreme comments. What I'm trying to say is that recruiting him might not be so easy."

"How so?" Nick Fury picked up his knife and fork and continued his struggle with the steak.

"A sense of distance. Although his words are light and casual, he knows how to apply the brakes effectively and always subtly keeps people at a certain distance. Gaining his trust is difficult. Our work simply can't proceed without trust."

Without commenting on Barbara's feelings, Nick Fury simply asked, "Are you confident you can recruit him? He doesn't necessarily need to be a full-fledged agent; even a peripheral assistant would be fine."

Black Nick Fury hasn't forgotten his father's advice, White Nick Fury: to build his own team, preferably one unknown to S.H.I.E.L.D.., so that it can become a real force in their hands.

Barbara said, "A white lie is still a lie to someone like him. What If...? I told him later that I was only there to recruit him, he would probably refuse outright."

"Even if you intervene, it won't change anything. My motives for contacting him weren't pure, which is the biggest reason he rejected me. So, just let me be his girlfriend. If he's my boyfriend, then it's only natural for him to help me."

Now it was Nick Fury's turn to retort, "You're not a swallow bred by Arctic. Our female agent decoy program only involves the initial part; it doesn't include long-term service."

"They sacrificed themselves for a mission, I did it voluntarily. The two are different," Barbara said smugly.

"Is it really necessary? Look at your expression right now, you're like a lovesick fool." Nick Fury criticized the girl, who was old enough to be his daughter. If he and his first love weren't a little more rational, Barbara would say, with her eyes half-closed, "You don't know, Nick Fury, I think his secret isn't that tough, just bulletproof. Although for a man's height, his proportions are a bit wide, but that's not fat."

A Kryptonian: It's definitely not because of gluttony, it's from eating too much!

"As a gymnast myself, I can feel the explosive power of the muscles beneath his skin. These are muscles you can't develop by lifting dumbbells like crazy in the gym."

"Enough!" Interrupting the drooling intern agent, Hennick Nick Fury said impatiently, "What If...? you want to carry out Swallow's mission, are you prepared to clean up the mess when his actions conflict with the bureau's objectives?"

"What If...? that were to happen," Barbara, who had been looking serious, suddenly smiled playfully and said, "Then there must be something wrong with the target in the department. How could the man I chose make a mistake?"

Nick Fury covered his face with his hands and shook his head helplessly.

"Oh no, this trainee agent is doomed." "By the way, sir, I have another date tomorrow. I need to apply for funding." Barbara stretched out her hand and waved it at Nick Fury.

"Fuck! If you want to go on a date, pay for it yourself. I don't have the funds!" Nick Fury couldn't help but curse. He then called Barbara...

Morse, the trainee agent, was brought in to do private work. The so-called funding all came out of his own pocket.

"I'm trying to help you. What If...? I pretend to be a rich woman and take care of a jobless gigolo? Do you think I could successfully win him over? He told me today, all pitiful, that he has no education, works odd jobs, and is so pathetic."

"Fuck you! The information I gave you clearly states that he's Tinkerer! The guy who swindled Andrew Saxon out of a million, he should still have six hundred thousand left. How much money are you going to spend to support a man who's a complete liar?"

Barbara ignored whether Henry was lying or not, and instead noticed her boss's grammatical error. "You want fuckimi?"

Can I file a complaint with the bureau? Is this workplace sexual harassment?

"Fuck you, Yulshev! I don't care anymore, mission canceled. You figure out how to get back yourself." With that, Nick Fury got up and left, not caring that he hadn't finished his steak.

Barbara grabbed him, saying, "Wait a minute, sir. At least leave me my ticket back to Georgia."

"Fuck you! You still need a plane ticket? I'll pack you up and ship you to FedEx, that'll be cheaper."

"I'm sorry, sir. I will carry out the mission obediently. Please forgive my earlier careless words," Barbara said, her eyes filled with tears and a wronged expression.

"Madfa!" Nick Fury stopped and looked at Barbara Morse, who was pretending to cry, and said, "I'll give you one last chance. On the last day of your vacation, I'll find a way to lure him to that illegal clinic."

"Then you'll find a way to use your fake relationship with his landlord to get into his house and plant a listening device. Understand? The station should have training on how to plant a listening device, you haven't forgotten."

"Yes, sir. But," Barbara said hesitantly, "You won't be waiting for me in my room tomorrow, will you?"

"Forget it, let's just cancel the mission--." Nick Fury thought to himself, "This blonde girl is no longer usable."
