Even from the highest vantage point, there were blind spots

"What!" Tony exclaimed, his expression turning serious for the first time today.

Henry didn't answer directly, but instead laughed and said, "You see, you think you're standing in a higher place?"

You can have a broader perspective. In fact, there are still blind spots in your field of vision; you haven't noticed what I'm doing. Right?

"So, you've become an assassin now?" Tony crossed his legs and placed his hands on his knees.

The level of vigilance was quite evident.

Henry shook his head and said, "No, no, no, the Continental Hotel is a system with many different jobs. Not everyone will become a gunman and take on assassination missions."

"Don't tell me they're also responsible for finding puppies and rescuing kittens."

"As far as I know, it's not impossible if you're willing to offer a tenfold reward," Henry said honestly.

Tony thought for a moment and decided to ask for clarification. "What happened? Tell me what you can."

Henry replied, "The Continental Hotel is an intermediary platform that provides a range of services in addition to contracted gunmen."

"If someone is injured, and these people can't be sent directly to the hospital, then of course medical personnel are needed to treat them. After the work is done, someone needs to clean up the environment and Oblivion evidence and remains to avoid getting entangled with the police. This also needs to be handled by professionals."

"What If...? someone witnesses it or calls the police, and the situation starts to escalate, someone needs to step in to control public opinion. Of course, there's also intelligence gathering about the target, as well as selling guns and custom-made bulletproof vests."

"In short, working at Continental Hotel involves many aspects; it's not just about grabbing a gun, running up to someone, and taking their life—whether innocent or not."

Tony's expression softened slightly as he asked, "So you're the kind of person who cleans up the mess?"

"I'm the kind of person who helps stop the bleeding and remove the bullet if someone gets shot," Henry said honestly.

It seemed that as long as Tony didn't personally shoot someone, there was still hope for him. He complained, "How did you end up in that group? Why didn't you find a proper job?"

"I got tricked by the FBI." Henry recounted how he was sent to Congressman Mike Holden State by the FBI, and how the gunmen at the Continental Hotel launched a massive attack, leading to his capture.

Henry added, "Anyway, the entire Holden State legislator's family is dead, not even his bailiffs are left, and I'm the only survivor. It's obvious how the police will target me."

"Besides running away, running to a place where no one can catch me, if I want to live a normal life, I have to find a way to deal with the problems from the FBI. The simplest way is to find a powerful backer that they will fear."

Tony said, displeased, "Didn't you even think about asking me for help?"

Henry spread his hands and said, "I don't want to sell myself, so I don't have enough leverage to approach you. The Continental Hotel is an option for me because they accept deals."

"Perhaps in some people's eyes, this is not fair. For example, in my case, I did a lot of work, but I am still on the FBI's radar instead of being removed from the list."

"At least in my daily life, I don't have to be watched by those well-dressed guys in suits, followed around every day, or constantly harassed."

Raising his chin arrogantly, Tony said, "Now that I'm here, you can drop everything at the Continental Hotel and work for me. I can guarantee that your FBI record will be clean the next day."

"Heh," Henry scoffed. "That's exactly what I wanted to emphasize. You think you have everything, but there are still things you don't know."

"What you want me to do, aside from finding a second invincible person which isn't so easy, I believe that with your power, there's no way that position wouldn't have a replacement."

"However, the position I'm in right now happens to be in your blind spot. Don't you think that me staying where I am will be more helpful to you than becoming a prominent figure?"

Having dealt with all sorts of cunning and shrewd old men and women, Tony Stark was no longer easily fooled.

He was just a dazed college student. He squinted, staring at the person in front of him, and after a moment, said:

"Ultimately, you just don't want to work for me or bear the Stark mark. Because according to your logic..."

Given your current position, I could easily bribe just one person.

"What If...? Continental Hotel were so straightforward, they could resolve most needs through transactions."

I believe I can find a more responsible helper than you inside.

"But you don't think that hiring you as the CEO of Stark Studios was just a random decision I came up with on a whim, do you? Forget it, there's no point in explaining further; you're not interested. That's it."

Henry, however, showed an appreciative expression and said, "Not bad. It seems that these past two years of experience have made you no longer like a naive student, simply taking your life for granted and believing that there's only one side to the Reason."

"Fuck! Shut up! Our relationship isn't good enough for me to tolerate this kind of sarcasm," the young master said angrily.

"Okay, I apologize." Henry raised his hands in apology and continued, "How about this, I'll ask you a different question. What do you want to do?"

The young master asked angrily, "What do you mean, 'what do I want to do'?"

Henry countered, "You suspect there's more to your parents' car accident than meets the eye, and that something happened to you yourself, so you're starting from that equally suspicious place. Once you find out the truth, what do you plan to do?"

"What If...? they did it, would you seek revenge? What If...? they didn't, would you uphold justice and fairness and bring them to justice?"

"Or will you ignore the unpleasant things that the investigation uncovers, turning a blind eye just to maintain the rules of your circle? Is all of this the work of one person, or a conclusion reached by collective will? Does it make a difference?"

"Or is all of this unrelated to your parents, and you simply want to eradicate the social ills and rebuild a society with kind customs? Or perhaps you haven't thought about anything at all, and are just chasing an answer?"

Looking at the bewildered Tony, Henry smiled and said, "I've seen too many people who say they want a better life, only to fall headlong into the vortex of chasing money and give up on life altogether."

"The most ridiculous thing is that the money these people save by scrimping and saving is squandered with the help of their families. For various reasons, they neglect their families, their wives, and their relatives."

"In the end, you'll be left with nothing—nothing at all. Similarly, you yourself realize that what you're doing carries risks, even endangering your life. Is your purpose worth taking such risks?"

"Or are you going to use these people's weaknesses to become king yourself? Is the purpose of slaying the dragon to become the only dragon?"

Henry stood up, bent down, and leaned very close to Tony Stark's ear, lowering his voice to say, "One last question: were these things your own idea, or were you coerced by someone without your knowledge?"

"What If...? it's the latter, have you ever thought that you've become someone else's pawn, charging ahead in the fray?"

Will that person firmly support your stance? Or will they also benefit when you become the one sacrificed?

"What If...? it's the former, I suggest you think it over again. I don't want to play along with you until the end and become a pawn you discard. To put it bluntly, in that level of game, can I trust you completely?"

"Please think this through carefully, Mr. Tony Stark. Don't easily agree to things you can't do. You'll ruin what little goodwill you have left."

After saying that, Henry picked up the pen-shaped jammer on the table, tossed it to Tony Stark, and said, "This little gadget's out of power. That concludes our conversation for today."
