Everyday Life in Los Angeles
The secret meeting with Tony Stark yielded no results. There was neither clear rejection nor clear agreement between the two.
There's no denying that the CEO of Stark Studios is a tempting offer; with that young master's influence, he certainly dared to hand over the company to him and then leave everything to his own devices.
Although they keep saying they don't want to go bankrupt, if that day really comes, they'll probably just laugh at themselves.
And then everything was fine.
But Henry still didn't dare to reach out, mainly because he was afraid of Tony Stark's impulsive and reckless behavior.
Shutting down Stark Industries ' arms division, Ultron Program, and blowing up thirty or forty Mecha like fireworks.
These actions all demonstrate the irrational aspects of Tony Stark's character, which usually come at a great cost, yet he remains indifferent to it.
If it involves him, and he's forced to clean up his mess, Henry worries that Iron Man won't live to see Thanos the Snap, let alone have that one in fourteen million chance of victory.
And then there's that ring of eyes surrounding him. If he gets too close, wouldn't he be exposing himself to their gaze? He should avoid that kind of trouble if possible.
In comparison, I'm currently only on the FBI's and many other people's lists, which isn't a big deal. I was mentally prepared for this situation from the day I proactively exposed my abilities.
Although that proved that he was different from ordinary people, the specialness of one in five billion is different from the specialness of tens or even hundreds of units in five billion.
This world is full of dangerous superpowers and extraordinary species. The ability to be invulnerable to weapons is insignificant in the vast ocean.
Moreover, since I don't have any particularly striking appearance, I can easily blend into the crowd.
Unless the Clown-Sup's true identity is leaked by the X- X-Men.
However, considering that the X- X-Men are an organization built on the history of Mutants suffering, if they were to easily betray others, it would be like ruining their own reputation.
It's worth taking a gamble on this; Henry feels his chances of winning are quite high.
If the X-Men considered him a threat, they wouldn't choose to report him to the U.S. military or government; they would probably come and hunt down this alien, Henry, themselves.
So as long as you're careful, you can still enjoy a leisurely life.
The seasons begin in spring and slowly move towards summer.
The girls' skin felt like it was being suffocated by the heavy winter clothes, and they were eager to be freed. Winter clothes were replaced with spring clothes, and the bolder ones even put on summer clothes, at most carrying a coat to wear in the morning and evening.
As one of the most glamorous and extravagant cities on Earth, Los Angeles, home to Hollywood, boasts a much higher proportion of beautiful women on its streets than any other city.
Or at the very least, they know how to showcase their fashion sense, flaunting the luxury items they wear and carry.
Henry wasn't often at home. Sometimes he would carry a camera and, like a paparazzi or talent scout, secretly photograph beautiful women on the street. In that era, there wasn't as much emphasis on portrait rights as there would be later, and as long as you weren't too blatant, you usually wouldn't get into trouble.
Besides, Henry wasn't taking those weird photos; it was just street scenes and people. If there were any problems, just pull out the film and expose it—there would be no evidence left.
Sometimes he would take out his sketchbook, find a spot and an angle, and draw a street scene for his own amusement.
If someone lingers on the street for a while, perhaps sitting on a park bench or leaning against a railing, Henry can still draw a simple portrait sketch.
Since they were outside, he couldn't use his Super Speed. But Henry became more and more skilled at sketching out a complete image with just a few strokes.
The reason I spend so much time wandering around outside is not only to appreciate the beautiful scenery that is so different from what I had in my previous life and that I, as a corporate slave, had no chance to appreciate, but also because of the more than 600,000 yuan of dirty money I had obtained.
Unable to deposit cash into the banking system, Henry felt he needed to spend it quickly for peace of mind. The simplest use was to pay for small daily expenses. So Henry embarked on a journey through the streets and alleys of Los Angeles, sampling street food and famous restaurants from all over.
Actually, I did something similar when I first came to Los Angeles. But that was a restaurant I picked out based on my own intuition; the aromas were above average, so the taste was naturally pretty good too.
This time, however, he will visit some restaurants with more ordinary smells. As long as they are not full of high-tech chemical flavorings, Henry will try them out and find out what makes them good.
Relaxing the criteria did indeed allow Henry to find many restaurants whose food was just as good as the ones he had found before, expanding his Los Angeles food map.
Because of this need for food, the Black Clinic in the South District closed even later. Especially when there were lookouts nearby, Henry would simply close the clinic altogether.
Anyway, he didn't necessarily need to save people to survive; it was just a trade-off with the Continental Hotel, and a way to gain more clinical medical experience. Even if he had to close down, Henry wouldn't lose anything.
As for the problems with the FBI, Mooney Fisher, the manager of the Continental Hotel, didn't handle them very well either. There were still those money-grubbing guys who wanted to play the role of corrupt cops coming to her door.
That is to say, Henry didn't pay much of a price. They had initially proposed a blood pact as a condition, but Henry only joined the Continental Hotel and became a freelancer. So, it's really not her fault that they did so poorly.
Henry has already sent three people into space, and it's unclear how this situation will develop. The only thing he's certain of is that it's not advisable to allow more police officers or FBI Agent to disappear without a trace in the short term; that would only attract more attention.
The best approach, of course, is to remain silent for a period of time and actively distance yourself from situations that could cause trouble.
Upgrading the home computer equipment, improving the supporting functions of the core robot BB, the brainwave translator for Tiger Kitty, and the activities of CK on the internet, etc., were not things that Henry had forgotten, but rather things that he deliberately slowed down.
Anyway, the matter is there, and there's no deadline pressure from the client, so what's wrong with getting it done in a short time?
Not to mention that some of these activities have no end; as long as you want to do them, you can keep doing them.
Henry's current technology is far ahead of its time, almost catching up with the level he's familiar with. To continue developing it, he needs some incentive. Otherwise, what he has is sufficient for his current needs.
Especially with the feature kits released online by CK and the development of Linu he's been driving, if they don't slow down, others will fall behind. Henry doesn't want to perform a solo act; showing a slight advantage is enough.
Kitty's brainwave translator has entered the data collection phase and has made initial progress. The next step is to continuously collect data, compare and revise it to make the brainwave translation results more accurate.
This is a slow and steady process; it can't be rushed. Even upgrading the software or hardware won't make Tiger speak human language overnight. So, you just have to endure it.
Henry, who was having a meal at the restaurant, was cutting his steak while thinking about his recent achievements.
