Camping Dinner

Even though it was a summer night, the area with woods on one side and a stream on the other was still cool, forcing one to move closer to the fire to get some warmth.

Barbara maintained her sizzling look from the daytime, not even considering taking out her warm clothes from her backpack. She just wanted to see if the man would take the initiative and share warmth with her.

Henry, however, was simply poking at the fire, staring intently at the deer leg, venison, and a skinned Rabbit Armor that were roasting directly over the fire.

With no other option, Barbara could only move closer to the fire, trying to warm herself while hoping that the man would notice her someday.

Not far away, Kitty was gnawing on two raw deer legs, her mouth covered in blood, looking quite gruesome.

Fortunately, after Henry cut off the deer leg, he bled the rest of the deer; otherwise, the venison would have had a strange taste.

Barbara asked, puzzled, "Why feed Kitty raw meat instead of cooked meat? Aren't you afraid of parasites or some kind of wildlife disease?"

Slightly resigned, Henry replied, "Because raw meat and blood also contain nutrients that Tiger need. Until a suitable supplement is found, we can only ignore minor problems like parasites for now."

Seeing that Henry wasn't very talkative today, unlike his previous flirtatious exchanges, Barbara had no choice but to keep trying to find topics to discuss.

She looked worriedly into the woods in a certain direction and asked, "Isn't it a bit inappropriate to just throw away the deer's entrails like that? Shouldn't we dig a hole and bury them?"

Henry explained, "Campers typically bury inedible entrails or animal remains because they fear the smell will attract predators and pose a threat to them."

"But with it around, what carnivorous animal do you think would pose a threat to us? Even if there are no Tabby Cat in North America, just looking at its size, there aren't many carnivorous animals that would dare to approach it."

The Tiger that Henry was pointing at had just lifted its face from the pile of flesh. Its imposing head, with a scarlet rim around its mouth, looked exceptionally ferocious.

After hearing Henry's explanation, Barbara snorted in dissatisfaction and said, "Are you still insisting it's Tabby Cat? Where do you find a cat that big?"

Stubborn Henry said smugly, "Of course there are! There's one right here. Hello, Kitty, meow!"

"Roar!"

Eating, busy.

Actually, Tiger Language is quite rudimentary, lacking many words with unique tones. So this roar can also be translated as, "Get out of here!" It depends on which interpretation you prefer.

Henry wasn't particularly indignant about Kitty's barking. They say a barking dog doesn't bite, and since Kitty couldn't beat him, wasn't he allowed to bark a couple of times?

In short, the interaction between the woman and the tiger convinced Barbara that the male tiger was indeed her rival in love.

This combination is just awful. So I have this sacred mission to help a man understand the beauty of women, instead of focusing his strange gaze on a male Tiger.

"It's so cold." Barbara hugged herself, rubbing her upper arms, and shifted her position, moving closer to Henry.

He intended to press his way forward, but Henry ladled out a bowl of mushroom and vegetable soup, stood between them, and pushed them back.

If Barbara didn't want to get scalded with hot soup, she would have no choice but to back down.

The man who thoughtfully brought over a bowl of hot soup smiled and said, "If it gets cold, drink it while it's hot; it'll be just right. You can have a little something to tide you over before eating the barbecue."

After half-forcefully shoving the soup bowl into Barbara's hands, Henry, in his usual considerate and gentle tone, said, "Didn't you bring any warm clothes? I have a light jacket; I'll go get it for you to wear first."

"No need, hot soup is enough." Barbara didn't show any impatience. Instead, she sipped her soup while pondering her next move.

However, every time she launched an attack, Henry would cleverly deflect it with food.

Barbara didn't want to refuse, and besides, the food in her hand looked like a tiny bit, easily finished in a bite or two. So she could only finish the food offered to her as quickly as possible before launching the next attack.

Just like that, Barbara was fed until she was stuffed and let out a burp. Now she voluntarily ladled out a bowl of soup and drank it to cleanse her mouth of the grease and help her digest.

Despite Henry's efforts to feed Barbara, he ate quite a bit himself. Seeing that the little girl had surrendered, he devoured the rest of the roast meat in a very short time, leaving not a single piece.

In contrast, the slowest eater was Kitty, who was gnawing on a deer leg next to her. She enjoyed her meal slowly and deliberately, occasionally licking her lips with her tongue, displaying an air of dominance.

Just as Henry was taking a sip of soup, Barbara leaned closer again. There was no way to stop her unless the hot soup was poured on her.

Henry hadn't expected the defense to go this far. So, after trying all night, Barbara finally rested her head on the shoulder of the man next to her in a very intimate position.

"What If...? you're sleepy, you can go inside and sleep in the tent. Kitty and I will stay outside, no one will crowd you." After saying this, Henry calmly drank his soup.

"Do you hate me?" Barbara asked softly in a coquettish voice.

"Well, strictly speaking, I don't dislike it."

So that means you like me?

"No one would dislike a cute girl like you, would they?" Henry laughed.

However, this answer seemed to displease Barbara, causing her to look up and face the man holding the soup bowl. She asked, "If that's the case, then why won't you accept me?"

Peering curiously at the soup pot, Henry said, "I'm pretty sure the mushrooms I picked are edible and don't have any hallucinogenic effects. I didn't drink any alcohol today either. So, did you catch a cold and get a fever?"

As he spoke, Henry reached out to touch Barbara's forehead, only to have his hand slapped away by the angry girl. "I'm not sick, I'm serious."

"Then what do you like about me?" Henry asked casually, without even glancing at the angry girl, and turned his attention back to his soup bowl.

Do you believe in love at first sight?

I believe you.

Do you know that I like you?

I don't believe that.

"Why?" Barbara almost jumped up, questioning the man.

Henry glanced at the girl beside him and said, "If you fall in love with someone at first sight, that person must have stunning beauty or a handsome appearance. Otherwise, they must be blinded by the stench of money."

"My appearance has been certified by professional agents. I'm not so unique that I can only take the supporting role route. I'd have to work in Hollywood for at least twenty years before I have a chance to be remembered. And that's just a chance, not a certainty."

"I'm not the kind of rich dad who can support a female college student. I've only been a minor actor for a little over six months, and a washed-up celebrity assistant for a little over a year. So, what are you after? It makes me wonder."
