The driver was a shrewd middle-aged white man. At least he wasn't like those gossipy black men who, regardless of whether the Passenger were interested or not, would unleash their racial talent for rapping and chatter until the people in the car wanted to jump out and commit suicide!

The driver remained silent. Henry simply stroked Charlize's head gently, as if stroking a cat's fur.

Of the three people in the taxi, only the girl was sobbing softly. However, the sound grew fainter and fainter until it was completely silent. The car remained quiet, with only the roar of the engine breaking the silence.

Because it was off-peak time in the afternoon, the taxi didn't take long to get me to my destination.

Henry then gave her a sum of money exceeding the fare as a tacit thank you.

I was fortunate to run into this driver today, who gave me a hint, which allowed me to resolve the situation smoothly. This is much better than having to risk being shot in the process.

Henry helped the girl, who was like a puppet, upstairs. He was wondering what to do after he got her to her room on the fourth floor.

Sending her back and then leaving doesn't seem like a good idea. Who knows if the girl, who's been so frightened, might do something irrational, especially since her roommates aren't around?

But staying seems a bit odd. It makes people think I have some ulterior motive.

Who knew that after stumbling and struggling up to the third floor, the girl would stop as if she couldn't walk any further.

Although Henry could easily carry the man with a little effort, he didn't want to force it, lest he injure him.

Just as he was about to ask the girl what was going on, Henry was suddenly pinned against the wall and kissed!

Henry was somewhat surprised by Charlize Theron's initiative.

He had a hundred reasons to refuse, a thousand ways to retaliate, and ten thousand techniques to avoid trouble without leaving a trace. But in the end, he was still overpowered by an ordinary Earth girl.

This exhilarating feeling was incredibly new; not only was it a first for me in this life, but I'd never had anything like it in my past life either. The only thing that could be compared to it was probably the feeling of slurping snails at a dinner table.

You have to understand that in his past life, before he was a man and raised his arms to shout that "simps can't get a House," he certainly had the tragic experience of simping but not getting it.

It's said that you can't gain wisdom without experiencing something. How can you expect to have an epiphany in life without ever suffering any losses?

He's spent money and time on his dream girl; he's practically selling a kidney to buy her a new phone.

For some unknown reason, after arriving in the more daring and open-minded United States, Henry dared not indulge himself and continued to live the same vegetarian life as in his previous life.

Until today, I was actually the one who got reverse-pushed...

Well, Henry secretly hoped this moment could last forever. However, Charlize, who was clearly out of breath, took the initiative to let go. But she still maintained the position of holding Henry's hands down, pressing them against the wall above his head.

Looking at the girl whose eyes seemed to be burning with intense passion, Henry felt a little helpless. "I hope this isn't just a way for you to thank me, a kiss to repay a favor, and then disappear the next day. I'd be quite disappointed."

"Just 'quite' disappointed? Don't you like me?"

"How could that be? Who would go to such lengths for a girl they don't like?"

"Then stop talking nonsense and take me!"

How did a major battle escalate to Henry's room? The details are unspeakable, unwritten, and indescribable. That's just how it is.

In the end, Charlize clung to the man beside her like an octopus and fell fast asleep, as if afraid he would disappear in her sleep.

Henry embraced the pitiful girl, responding in kind. Although it wasn't time to sleep, he let himself drift off to sleep, trying not to think about anything.

However, this nap was destined to be short-lived. The family's mischievous cat ripped off the covers and jumped onto the bed, dancing wildly!

Oh, Henry had forgotten about this guy. But half asleep, he still gave Kitty a light kick, knocking her off the bed.

Charlize, equally disturbed, opened her sleepy eyes and looked at the blurry tiger head at the foot of the bed. Then she heard Kitty open her blood-red maw and roar!

It's time to eat.

The girl, whose brain hadn't yet caught up with reason, remained silent for three seconds. Then, she unleashed a scream three octaves higher than the ceiling, jolting Henry back to his senses.

Henry quickly hugged the screaming girl, shielding her with his body to make her feel safer. But Henry didn't actually need to do that; Kitty had already strode out of the room.

Charlize's screams weren't actually from genuine fear, but rather an instinctive reaction. However, after being reassured and seeing the Tiger leave, she not only regained her composure but also gained a clearer understanding of the situation.

Looking at the man who was hugging her, Charlize Theron, her expression returning to normal, asked, "Was that... Tiger?"

Then she remembered the complicated expressions on her landlord's and roommates' faces when they mentioned Henry. If they knew their neighbor kept a Tiger, they would just look troubled too. It's safe to say everyone's nerves are pretty strong; they didn't break down.

As the girl relaxed and regained her composure, Henry Kitty, still holding her, said, "That's Tabby Cat, my tabby cat. Look. Hello, Kitty."

The tiger turned its head back, and there was no beautiful story of three smiles sealing a marriage; there was only a roar!

I'm hungry.

Charlize wasn't deaf; of course she could tell the difference between a meow and a tiger's roar. She stared at Henry with an unnatural look, making the man holding her laugh awkwardly a few times.

"It's time to eat. I'll go prepare Kitty's dinner first, or I'll become her dinner. You can stay and eat too. Oh, don't worry about Kitty. She won't bite; I'll stop her."

Charlize wanted to point out to the man how many flaws were in his short sentence, and whether he had even counted them.

Henry kissed Charlize's delicate cheek before getting out of bed, getting dressed, and preparing dinner.

It was only then that Charlize Theron gradually realized her situation. It wasn't just about being in someone else's house, or just about having spent a crazy afternoon; it was about much more... about her future.

All the sense of reality rushed over me at once, but I didn't feel the frustration or sadness I had imagined.

Perhaps she has found a reliable support; or perhaps she has already made up her mind that What If...? this support is unreliable, she will return to her farm in South Africa to spend the rest of her life.

There has to be some kind of resolution eventually.

She picked up her clothes from beside the bed and put them on one by one. Recalling the unprecedented experience she had that afternoon, Charlize couldn't help but blush, but she quickly calmed down.

She didn't know whether it was normal for her to escape one man's grasp and immediately throw herself into another's arms. Was it even too reckless of her to do so? There were no answers to these questions.

However, Charlize Theron is not the type to overthink things. Once she's done something, she'll do it; at most, she'll reflect on it and try to avoid repeating the same mistakes.

As for the present situation, Henry has bypassed her and taken the lead in terminating her contract with John Thaddeus Ross. Charlize needs to know what this man is thinking in order to make the next decision.
