The contents of the dowry didn't even need a lawyer to draft it. Henry asked for a piece of white paper and a pen, and quickly wrote down the document in accordance with the legal format.

This document briefly states the names of both parties and that they agree to unconditionally terminate the brokerage contract signed on a certain date.

Charlize, who had remained silent, signed her name without hesitation.

John Thaddeus Ross, on the other hand, kept yelling, "You have no right to ask me to give up an artist I signed. I've taken care of her for so long, and she still owes me a mountain of debt!"

John wouldn't even pick up a pen, let alone sign anything. He just kept listing all the things he'd done for Charlize, bringing up even the most trivial things.

After a while, the man in the suit, unable to stand it any longer, took the gun from his subordinate and pressed it directly against the back of John's head, terrifying the agent into silence.

The man in the suit leaned forward to look at Henry. "Kid, don't you think my method of terminating the contract is more effective? Since he's unwilling to sign that piece of paper, let's use my method."

Before Henry could say anything, John quickly grabbed a pen and scribbled his name on it. He then tossed the pen aside, raised both hands, and said, "I signed it! I signed it! Don't shoot!"

The man in the suit tossed the gun back into his subordinate's arms. The action was exactly the same as when his men had thrown the camera back into the photographer's hands earlier. It just goes to show that he was a true follower of his gang.

Henry also took back the written statement, looked at its contents, confirmed that both men's signatures were correct, and then put it away. He then took out three rolls of banknotes and placed them in front of John.

"You once helped Charlize. I believe no one wanted things to come to this. And I also know that you invested a lot in Charlize."

"So consider this money as compensation for your losses. Whether it's enough or not, let's call this matter settled. I hope you won't harass her again in the future."

After saying that, Henry followed Charlize to her changing room. He waited a short while at the door until the girl finished changing, picked up her things, and then led her away.

Throughout the entire process, none of the man in the suit's subordinates stepped forward to stop it, demonstrating their commitment to keeping their promise.

John Thaddeus Ross was the only one with a long face. It was because of the three rolls of money that Henry had taken, two of which had been taken by the man in the suit.

Why did Henry roll up his banknotes into tubes instead of folding them flat like a gangster?

The reason given is that it's difficult to count them this way, especially since some counterfeit US dollars circulating in the market are mixed in. This makes it easier to slip through the cracks.

Henry destroyed all the counterfeit money he had and didn't continue using it. He just mixed small and large denomination bills together in the banknote rolls.

Within a typical gang, if a subordinate receives money like this from the boss and foolishly counts it on the spot, it can easily escalate into a trust issue and cause a huge uproar.

So most of the time, they just accept it. Whether the gangsters take more or less, it's all up to fate.

However, John's tearful face wasn't solely due to the loss of two-thirds of the compensation. He was also blaming the man in the suit, saying, "I sent so many girls here; I thought we were business partners."

"Of course, that hasn't changed. But there are so many girls out there, there's no need to keep an eye on just one. I'm still looking forward to your next find."

The man in the suit tried to appease John, his cash cow.

However, John Thaddeus Ross, who suffered the greatest loss at the scene, said resentfully, "Hmph, he thought that by having me sign an unconditional termination agreement, the matter would be over."

"It conflicts with the termination clause of the previous brokerage contract. If it goes to Court, he won't win. His biggest mistake was not including the money he would have to come up with later in the compensation."

"Oh, you think so?" The man in the suit returned to his original seat and poured himself another glass of whiskey.

John, seeing the dismissive attitude, asked curiously, "Isn't that so? Without any consideration, I could easily overturn the contract by using forged documents, forged signatures, or the grounds of being coerced by him."

"Of course, I won't involve you. This is between me, that girl, and that damn arrogant, self-righteous hero."

The man in the suit placed the second Gold Coin on the table. "I think his decision not to include compensation for your losses in the termination agreement was actually a warning."

"Let me tell you, we follow the rules, but not the law. Today he's resolving things according to the rules and the law. What If...? you want to fight him legally, don't blame him for following our rules."

"In the worst-case scenario, I'd have to side with him and help resolve this dispute. After all, I agreed to help resolve it, and your interference is damaging my reputation."

This was a very serious warning. John Thaddeus Ross instantly calmed down, looking at the man in the suit with a puzzled expression. "Who is this Henry Brown? Do you know him?"

"I vaguely recognize that name. But the fact that he can produce Gold Coin means he's on my side. Just remember one thing: the fee for a corpse collector is only one Gold Coin. What price do you think he'd have to pay to silence you forever?"

Startled by such a blunt warning, John stammered, unable to utter a word. Finally, he could only manage a muttered, "Damn it!"

Henry, half-carrying, half-embracing Charlize Theron as they left the photography studio, immediately spotted the taxi he had arrived in. He opened the back door, pushed the distraught girl into the car, and then got in himself.

The driver immediately asked, "You haven't gotten into any trouble, have you? It looks like no one fired shots to chase after you."

"Yeah, lucky me. I ran into a bunch of reasonable people," Henry said with a laugh, then looked at the driver in the front seat and said, "I'm a little late; I thought you'd leave first."

"Having accepted your tip, I think I can wait a little longer. Besides, if the wait gets too long, I can call the police for you, but that's the most I can do. Now it seems that the person you wanted to rescue has been successfully rescued."

Henry chuckled. "I'm not trying to save anyone. This is just a friend of mine; she had to go somewhere else and asked me to come keep her company."

The driver didn't press the matter with the back-seat Passenger' evasive answers. Instead, he asked, "Where are you going?"

After giving the address of the old Gary apartment building, the taxi started moving.

Looking at the girl beside him who was still trembling slightly, Henry gently touched her shoulder and asked, "Are you alright now? Let's go home."

A simple sentence, a gentle touch, like flipping a switch, made Charlize Theron throw herself into Henry's arms, sobbing softly.

No one can imagine how terrifying that situation must have been for a young girl who had come to a foreign country alone. Even if she could hide her fear in front of the camera and put on the seductive expression that others described.

So she dialed the number, asking a stranger for help. When she heard the answering machine pick up, Charlize didn't know whether she felt despair or relief.

Thank God, he finally appeared like a knight on a white horse and rescued me.

Charlize Theron was so confused that she didn't know what was going on. All she knew was that the strong, powerful heartbeat in her ears seemed to bewitch her, gradually filling her entire world.
