The reason why the production department's work is not important is because such work does not occur every day. Moreover, these are not Stark Studios ' focus, so there is no rush to deal with them.

After a week's worth of submissions, there weren't many proposal documents left on the table.

Henry was supposed to finish everything today, but the baby at home started beeping loudly, indicating that a very important uninvited guest had arrived.

Although secretly pleased, Henry kept a straight face, reluctantly told his secretary in the small office, and left work early.

Incidentally, the chubby black woman who introduced Henry to the company when he first came to Stark Studios, Julianne Williams, is now the secretary to the studio's CEO.

However, she basically did mundane tasks like answering phones, scheduling appointments, and recording messages. It was completely different from being a secretary who had influence over the boss. Henry didn't need anyone to help him filter documents and reports.

Because he felt that things at home weren't urgent enough to warrant using Super Speed, Henry drove home.

As Henry drove, he wondered what he had gotten himself into recently. Otherwise, why would that girl show up again, ignoring Kitty's threats and barging into his house?

Since it wasn't rush hour, Henry drove home at a leisurely pace. He arrived back at his rented apartment in no time.

Because it was late autumn and the afternoon sun was already at its strongest, old Gary didn't stay on the street but retreated back into his house.

Although California's autumn hasn't reached winter's low temperatures, without warm sunshine and with the cold wind blowing, it's easy to catch a cold.

It was probably because old Gary wasn't guarding the street that outsiders were able to sneak into the building so easily.

Or perhaps it was because of a false relationship that even if old Gary saw it, he pretended not to see and let the person go?

Regardless of the possibility, Henry returned to his house and opened the door. Kitty was crouching beside a woman lying unconscious on the ground. He wondered if the Tiger was struggling, and whether the thing in front of him could be eaten as a snack.

The girl in the business suit was none other than Barbara Morse, whom they had broken off contact with in the middle of last year. She was also known as Agent 19 of S.H.I.E.L.D.. and Mockingbird.

She collapsed at home because of her injuries all over her body, and because she was sweating profusely and clearly exhausted.

Are they being chased?

So, should we just throw her back onto the street?

Henry struggled internally for less than three seconds before letting out another heavy sigh and choosing to compromise. After all, they were acquaintances; their interactions might have been for ulterior motives, but at least the other party hadn't shown any malice.

Henry carried Barbara to the sofa, took out the family first aid kit, and began to treat her injuries.

Having spent over a year working with unlicensed doctors, Henry naturally didn't take this kind of non-life-threatening minor injury seriously.

Without even needing to strip her naked, Henry treated her still-bleeding wounds. Of course, he also removed the bullets that had entered her body, instead of leaving them as souvenirs.

Stitch what needs stitching, and apply bandages where necessary. If the wound is too large and not stitched, it may leave a scar even after natural healing.

I don't know what the girl thinks about the scars on her body, but Henry still took it upon himself to treat them for her. He cleaned up the bloodstains where he could, and left the more difficult-to-clean areas untouched.

Henry had no intention of taking advantage of the situation. In particular, taking advantage of the female agent would be tantamount to handing over leverage against her.

Barbara's injuries weren't serious after all. As Henry helped wipe the dirt off her face, the cool towel woke her up. The girl opened her eyes and immediately saw a tiger's head licking its lips!

"Walter!" Startled, Barbara sprang to her feet and retreated as far as she could! She wondered to herself, could that chill she felt just now be the prelude to this Tiger preparing to devour her head?

Henry pushed Tiger Head aside at the opportune moment, bringing himself into the girl's view.

Perhaps the scene was too shocking, and there were many illogical aspects to the situation, so it took Barbara had just been startled awake, some time to sort things out.

Looking at Henry, then at the Tiger, Barbara gave a helpless, wry smile and greeted him, "Hello, Kitty. Hello, Henry."

Henry's expression was fairly friendly, but not particularly welcoming. "Girl, what happened to you? How come you've been shot several times? Did you run off to a place a good girl shouldn't be, and get harassed by a bunch of old men who started shooting at you?"

Barbara, her senses returning, grabbed Henry's collar and said nervously, "Run! Someone's coming to kill you!"

"Ugh, calm down. Take a deep breath and speak slowly. First, who wants to kill me? And how did you know? Is it related to your injuries?"

Perhaps due to excessive emotional excitement, coupled with the forceful movements that aggravated her wounds, Barbara pressed her hand against her most severely injured abdomen. Following Henry's instructions, she took deep breaths and checked her condition.

Henry then said, "I've treated your injuries. What If...? you're worried, you should go to the hospital for a Lockjaw shot."

"It's S.H.I.E.L.D.., the organization I was supposed to join. I'm still an intern, and I've received an emergency assembly order from my superiors. My commander has instructed us to form a strike team, and the target is you, Henry Brown. Shoot him dead, leave no survivors."

"Shoot them out directly?" Henry asked with a puzzled look.

"Yes, shoot... kill directly?" Barbara initially spoke with certainty. But towards the end, she realized something was amiss.

Henry asked, "I'm not familiar with your bureau. I just want to ask, do they have information on me? Why are they targeting me?"

"I saw your information from other officers. My own level one clearance isn't enough to access such information. As for the reason for attacking you, the person who gave the order didn't say. He only said you're a vicious criminal and that we shouldn't show any leniency."

The sheer stench of S.H.I.E.L.D. was suffocating Henry. Didn't S. H. I. E. L. D. have information on his invulnerability? So what were they relying on to kill him? Equipment for dealing with Mutants? Or... were they simply offering him up as a suicide mission?

"You're going to attack me, do you have any special equipment prepared?"

Barbara shook her head, her expression grave. She seemed to be thinking of the same problem as Henry. In the eyes of S.H.I.E.L.D..'s higher-ups, Henry Brown's mutant abilities weren't considered top-secret. But the commandos hadn't made the necessary preparations—what were they doing?

"And what about you? How did you end up getting shot by your own people?"

Barbara blushed, unable to understand why she had acted so impulsively and questioned her superior's instructions on the spot. She nervously twirled her index fingers together and said uneasily:

"I told them I was just an intern and hadn't passed the fieldwork test, so I wasn't suitable to join the commando team. Besides, the reasoning for the order was too vague; it only emphasized that I was bad, but there was no concrete evidence."

"So I refused to accept such an order and wanted to find another officer to verify the contents of this Dodge order. But before I could find another officer, I was shot in the back. Then I tried to escape."

Henry looked at the girl with a strange expression. "This is the organization you want to join? What was your reason for joining in the first place? It wasn't for some justice and peace, was it?"

"Don't even mention it, I regret it now too. I should have just gone back to school and done academic research with the professors," Barbara said dejectedly, covering her face.
