"Wait a minute, are all the people gathered here interns like you?" Henry asked.

Barbara replied, "Because the official agents have all been taken away by the district commander to carry out other missions, that commander wants us trainee agents, along with some of the newly joined first-level agents, to assist... This doesn't seem quite right?"

Are there other people who question the order like you?

Barbara shook her head. "No. Everyone is incredibly excited about the opportunity to go on field missions. Most people believe that once they have this experience, becoming a full-fledged agent won't be a problem."

I never thought about what would happen if I failed!

It seems Henry has no doubt that the vans heading towards his location, carrying a group of fully SWAT-equipped personnel, are there to deal with him.

The key point is! The equipment they use would be very effective against ordinary criminals. But trying to deal with us without special equipment designed to fight Mutants? That's just suicide.

Even though he himself is not Mutants.

Is S.H.I.E.L.D.. targeting him? Or is Snake S.H.I.E.L.D.. targeting him? Regardless of who the opponent is, Henry can't figure out their reason for taking action.

If he was really going to make a move, he should have done it long ago. Why wait until he became the CEO of Stark Studios? Or is he trying to send a warning to Tony Stark?

Then, despite having their own information, they send a group of poorly equipped, inexperienced young men. The stench of this conspiracy is simply unbearable.

"Henry!" Barbara grabbed Henry's collar again, pulling the man back to reality. The girl said, "They know this place and could attack at any moment. We need to get out of here quickly. Do you have any weapons?"

He opened a cabinet, inside which lay a bow and several arrows. Henry thought for a moment, then decided not to take the hunting equipment with him, instead picking up a gun from the top shelf of the cabinet. Gripping the gun, he asked, "Bobbie, how's your shooting?"

"I'm definitely better than you! The instructor said I'm very talented," Barbara said proudly.

"Alright, you can use this gun." Henry closed the cabinet door and handed over the gun.

Barbara initially took the gun with a smug look on her face. But as soon as she held it, she sensed something was wrong. She had to pull the holster and remove the magazine. The girl exclaimed in surprise, "Is this an air gun?"

"These are all I have, just for scaring people. The metal of the gun body looks pretty good, right? I had them custom-made." Henry took out two headset-like devices from another cabinet and hung them on Kitty's ears.

Since it wasn't the first time it had been hit, Kitty's aversion wasn't as severe. But she still shook her ears somewhat uncomfortably, as if trying to shake something off.

Barbara, dumbfounded, held the air gun and questioned the "weapon" in her hand. Unless it happened to hit the eye, this thing wouldn't be able to kill a trained adult, let alone stop them from moving.

"You don't have a real gun?" Barbara asked bitterly.

"You have a way of getting behind someone who almost became your colleague?"

Upon hearing Henry's question, Barbara angrily replied, "They shot at me first!"

But the anger came and went quickly. Barbara lowered her head, dejected, and said, "Those idiots were probably fooled too. But I can't understand why our superior would target you? Was it really an order from the bureau? Or is there something wrong with him?"

"Since we're not going to confront her directly, let's not even think about it." Henry handed Barbara the women's blazer he had taken off earlier. "Put it on, we're getting ready to leave."

At the same time, Kitty seemed to hear something. The Tiger froze on the spot, its ears perked up.

Oblivious to Kitty's odd behavior, Barbara casually set the air gun aside, picked up her clothes and put them on, not intending to bring the toy along. "Where are we going?"

"Let's leave first." Henry grabbed Barbara's hand and headed towards his room.

The girl was completely bewildered when she was pulled into a room with a large bed. She felt both ashamed and annoyed. Could they be planning to do something like this? Was this the right time?

A mix of emotions made Barbara's face flush red, and she didn't even notice Kitty following right beside her as they entered Henry's room.

To Henry's ears, a group of people were rushing towards the third floor with chaotic footsteps. They were even taking it seriously, stopping at every corner and strictly following CQB tactics for their attack.

Although they knew to remain silent and communicate only through gestures, the Deadman loud thumping footsteps were impossible to ignore.

Henry picked up the mattress and threw it out the large window of the room!

The shattering of the window made a loud noise. Even Barbara, who was usually quite brave, couldn't help but cover her ears, startled.

"Time to jump out!"

"Wait! Jump? We're on the third floor, right?" Barbara exclaimed in surprise, realizing she was being hugged around the waist.

"So I threw the mattress out as a cushion," Henry said matter-of-factly.

"Is a small mattress really useful?"

"It's better than nothing," Henry chuckled, pulling the girl closer to him.

It's not that I'm trying to take advantage of her. It's just that if she breaks free mid-air when I jump, I'll have to expose my abilities to save her, which isn't worth it.

Looking at the person in his arms, Henry smiled and said, "Let's go. Clench your teeth, or you'll bite your tongue." With that, he let out a tiger's roar, and Kitty, as if she understood, followed Henry and jumped out of the broken window!

Two men and a tiger descended from the sky, landing precisely on the mattress that Henry had thrown earlier.

In fact, just before landing on the mattress, Henry had quietly used his flight ability to slow his descent. He was also the first to land, so Barbara wasn't subjected to much impact.

For Kitty, a large feline, jumping from the third floor was not a big problem. She landed smoothly on all fours, with the mattress cushioning her fall, just like jumping from the tallest cat tree in the house—nothing happened to her.

Henry's choice of landing spot was deliberate; his old Cadillac was right next door. He opened the door, shoved Barbara into the passenger seat first, then opened the back door, gave a whistle, and Kitty jumped in.

Just as he was about to get into the driver's seat, the men guarding the van on the street noticed them and shouted, "The target has escaped! The target is trying to drive away!"

Meanwhile, the slow-moving assault team members were still ramming the door with a battering ram.

It could be said that Henry chose the perfect moment to escape, precisely when the group was caught in a limbo.
