Modifying the Quinjet

The first thing to note is the number of Skrulls.

Perhaps it was nighttime, Skrulls were off guard, or perhaps it was to gain the trust of Carol Danvers and the others, so they acted in their original forms.

Black Super could easily count the number of Skrulls; there were fifteen in total, including General Ross. Most of them were gathered around the Quinjet, assisting their technicians in modifying it.

This number is the same as the number before Black Super left. In other words, the two Skrulls later disguised themselves as S.H.I.E.L.D.. agents to pick up him and Barbara were not exposed.

In other words, General Ross still has a trump card up his sleeve... or another possibility is that some Skrulls are beyond General Ross's control, and they have their own objectives.

So how many Skrulls have already infiltrated Earth? Were some of the FBI agents who raided their own territory also replaced by Skrulls?

It feels like the Marvel Universe hasn't even begun, and I've already encountered an epic-level "Secret Invasion." And to make matters worse, I'm being targeted by these green-skinned monsters.

However, the Black Super arrived so quickly to infiltrate was not only to ensure that Nick Fury could survive until the end and clean up the mess left behind by the Skrulls posing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

The first thing they wanted to collect was to see how the Skrulls modified the Quinjet. They wanted to transform an atmospheric aircraft into one that could operate through the atmosphere, move in space, and return to Earth.

The dozen or so Skrulls were divided into several groups, each carrying out different modification projects under the command of one of them.

The engine project was the part that Black Super paid the most attention to, but after looking at it, he felt that the technical content was not as high as he had imagined.

The Quinjet originally used two scramjet engines. Like all fighter jets, these engines relied on drawing in air and mixing it with fuel, which then burned to produce a large amount of gas that was ejected in a certain direction, thus generating thrust.

After being modified by the Skrulls, the Quinjet was equipped with a nuclear fusion engine. However, the main function of this engine was only to provide energy and restore oxygen; the main thrust still relied on the gas generated by the combustion of the jet's original fuel.

However, this jet did not improve the efficiency of fuel consumption, which is a limited resource, as if gas stations could be found everywhere in the universe. What If...? one were to rely on this engine for interstellar travel, the possibility of never returning would be virtually 100%.

In addition to the engine, the Skrulls also added many other devices to the Quinjet. The most important of these were the shields and the artificial gravity device.

The artificial gravity device is a cutting- Black Super technology, but it's only meant to be seen; of course, you can't understand it.

The design and wiring of the device are understandable. However, the core of the device consists of parts provided by the Skrulls themselves. That thing doesn't have a very complex design; in other words, the key is its materials.

Based on the X-ray vision analysis of the Black Super, it was a material that does not exist on Earth, so the purpose of that material could not be determined.

In any case, without that thing, the Skrulls' handmade artificial gravity device is completely lacking in technology. But with that core added, the device is transformed into a piece of black technology that Earthlings can't understand.

The shield devices are in a similar situation.

However, given that the Skrulls did not deliberately enhance the sealing of the Quinjet, it can be inferred that this shield not only helped the jet pass through the high heat of the atmosphere, but also prevented internal air from escaping.

Defending against energy attacks of a certain level is certainly not a problem. This also explains why the Quinjet was attacked by lasers several times in the movie without sustaining any damage. It's not because Earth's aircraft skin materials are particularly good.

The Black Super Skrulls explain why, even after the Quinjet returned to the military, the mass-produced Quinjet remained restricted to atmospheric use.

Because many of the components added by the Skrulls cannot be deduced using reverse engineering. What If...? even the key materials cannot be replicated or obtained, it would be a joke to try to recreate the technological devices of these advanced civilizations.

So these guys were holding back, just like they didn't tell Nick Fury and the others the whole story, instead of being as candid as they claimed.

That is to say, I have this problem myself; who would open their heart to a stranger or someone they don't know well?

What If...? the Skrulls hadn't continued to cause him trouble, Black Super wouldn't have cared whether their attitude was genuine or not, good or bad. But since they showed no sign of backing down, it was only natural for him to receive some compensation for emotional distress.

However, the extent to which it should be done still needs careful consideration. What is the option with the fewest side effects?

While waiting for the Skrulls to make their move, Black Super stayed in the grove, deducing all the possibilities and consequences in order to formulate his best course of action.

Just like his pitch-black battle suit in the darkness, what lies hidden is not only fangs, but also the wisdom to seek a fatal blow and escape unscathed.

Aside from the Skrulls modifying the aircraft, the actions of the other humans were also predictable, proceeding according to the movie's progression in Black Super's memory.

At the invitation of Carol Danvers and with the encouragement of her daughter Monica Rambeau Rambo, Maria Rambo joins this potentially one-way adventure.

Unaware that Captain Marvel would later unleash her powers and resolve all troubles, the main risk of their operation came from the pursuing Kree Starforce, commanded by Yon-Rogge.

In other words, their actions are time-limited.

When the pursuers arrived, the Skrulls, having lost their warship, had no choice but to infiltrate human communities, as they lacked the equipment to fight against the Kree army.

It's important to know that in addition to the elite squad led by Yon Roger, they also had an unknown number of regular soldiers fighting alongside them.

In the battle on Torfa, a group of Skrulls, along with the natives, were no match for a small team of only six, and could only force the Kree to retreat. The only commendable achievement was capturing Captain Marvel from the future, which was almost like a plot device.

Of course, Black Super can't guarantee whether the reality of this universe is the same as the movies in his memory. It's like in the movies it was just a Skrull technician modifying Quinjet, but in front of us there are more than a dozen people doing it.

It's conceivable that once the Kree caught up, the outcome was pretty much decided.

Therefore, their goal should be to decode the state vector left by Kree scientist Mar- Will, namely Dr. Wendy Lawson, find the energy core of the Faster-than-Light Engine, and then quickly escape.

Then they would remain hidden on Earth, hoping that the Kree pursuers would leave on their own once they could no longer see the Skrulls. This would give the Skrulls the opportunity to use the energy core to complete Dr. Lawson's research, create Faster-than-Light Engine, and lead the remaining Skrulls to find a new home.

In fact, General Ross did not say these things, but others could roughly imagine what the Skrulls' plan looked like from what he said.

It seems like a great plan, but it contains too many wishful thinking elements. For example, if the Kree knew that the Skrulls might be lurking on Earth, would they really just leave without doing anything because they couldn't find them?

Dr. Lawson's Faster-than-Light Engine is not yet complete. Besides the energy core, which they haven't yet obtained, what resources do the Skrulls lurking on Earth have to complete this research?

Even more crucially, General Ross's true objective—the energy core of the Faster-than-Light Engine was merely a side benefit—was something else entirely unsaid. All of this would influence everyone's actions and considerations.

It's fair to say that there were too many unclear parts in this entire plan, which explains why Maria Rambo was initially unwilling to join. Anyone with a normal IQ would find it unacceptable that a plan so heavily reliant on improvisation is so impractical.

Only Carol Danvers, the tough woman who was manipulated by the Kree, was dragged onto the Skrulls ' chariot, whether she was genuinely persuaded by the Skrulls to believe that helping these green-skinned monsters was the righteous side, or whether she was just harboring a desire for revenge.

As for Nick Fury, it's hard to tell from the Black Super whether he's involved in all of this.

Perhaps, as he himself said, when one side is powerless to defeat the two troublemakers, joining one side is the best option. And so-called neutrality is nothing more than a bargaining chip.
