Cosmic Battle
The fact that it could withstand an attack from more than a dozen agile small fighter jets without falling was due in part to the shield force field that the Skrulls attached to the Quai, and in part to Maria Rambo's superb piloting skills.
It's important to understand that the Quag's original design was for use within the atmosphere. In the absence of air and the inability to utilize aerodynamics in space, Maria Rambo's achievement of such a result, relying solely on the attitude adjustment nozzles temporarily added by the Skrulls, is already a testament to her the Gifted.
However, the shield's protection has its limits. Even the most skilled pilot can easily make mistakes when surrounded. Therefore, the Quinjet's situation is extremely precarious.
As for Captain Marvel in her Binary form, just like in the movie, she was held back by her former colleagues, the Kree Starforce members. Even though Bron-Char, that big guy, was still embedded in the deck where the Black Super had stuck him, he remained unconscious.
So even though Captain Marvel is the strongest, she's useless. Only Black Super can step in to ensure that Nick Fury doesn't turn into a spectacular firework.
He was counting on this guy to help him clean up the mess the Skrulls left behind within S.H.I.E.L.D.. If he died here, how much more effort would he have to put in, and how many favors would he have to incur to resolve the trouble caused by those shapeshifters?
Despite this going against his motto of a laid-back life, the reluctant Black Super had no choice but to use his Super Speed.
They quickly separated from the Kree Cruiser and entered space.
With his spoils strapped to his waist, Black Super crouched on the outer wall of the Kree Cruiser.
The Kree's experience in space combat far surpasses that of the female pilot who only worked as a test pilot. Moreover, one of the Kree aircraft is a command aircraft that is significantly different in form but has more combat experience.
It was the arrival of that command aircraft that allowed the Kree fighters to launch a series of overlapping attacks, like waves crashing down from all directions. It was a miracle that the Quinjet hadn't been blown to pieces.
It seems that a one-against-seventeen situation is an advanced challenge for any pilot. Under such circumstances, it's unlikely that Maria Rambeau will be able to stage another spectacular dogfight and turn the tide against the Kree fighters in the canyon.
Moreover, Maria Rambo's predicament is not just about the disparity in numbers between herself and her enemies; her biggest challenge is the excessive burden she carries.
Because inside that Quinjet now, there's not just Maria Rambo, Nick Fury, the Flerken Goose, and General Ross's family of three.
In addition to the dozen or so Skrulls soldiers who had accompanied and supported them earlier, nearly twenty Skrull refugees, under the protection of Dr. Mar- Will, were also on the island.
Imagine an aircraft that should be highly maneuverable, yet its cabin is crammed with people like a bus during rush hour.
The Flerken was perched above the dashboard. Didn't they consider using the miniature universe within the little guy's mouth to temporarily swallow the overloaded Passenger?
However, now doesn't seem like a good time to warn them; the Quinjet are almost destroyed.
In outer space, due to the absence of air, many of the maneuvers that Civil War the atmosphere simply do not exist. There are no distinctions in turning radius or gyration rate, unlike what is depicted in the movie "Star Wars."
A fighter jet's maneuverability and speed depend entirely on the amount of propellant used. The same amount of propellant used for acceleration must be used for deceleration.
Applying forces in different directions will change the aircraft's direction of travel. All actions are governed by the mathematical formula of vector addition. Unless the aircraft is caught by the gravity of celestial bodies, an additional force will affect its movement.
In other words, as long as the operation is reasonable, it is not a big problem for fighter jets in space to perform right-angle maneuvers or even acute-angle maneuvers, as long as the pilot can withstand the G-forces brought about by the violent maneuvers.
Therefore, the Kree fighters' wave attacks were actually just a simple series of actions: accelerating, decelerating, turning, and then accelerating again. But under human command, such simple timing maneuvers still created a deadly offensive.
The instant Black Super had that thought, he locked onto the main engines of all the Kree aircraft.
Unlike the nozzles used for attitude adjustment, which utilize the gas generated by propellant evaporation to change the direction of the aircraft, the main engine, in addition to generating energy to power the entire aircraft, also provides the main propulsion for the shuttle-shaped aircraft; it is no exaggeration to call it a key component.
Using the Kryptonian' ability to appear to fly but actually control gravity, Black Super destroyed the engines of all the Kree spacecraft in the shortest distance and at the fastest speed, leaving them only able to maintain an inertial drift.
Although the attitude control nozzles were not damaged, and the propellant inside the fighter jet could still control its direction, the loss of power from the main engine meant that their energy weapons were also rendered useless.
The damage to each fighter jet varied due to the different angles of attack from the Black Super fighters, but none of them were destroyed. For some reason, being dressed in black made it difficult to muster any killing intent.
The only miscalculation was about the distinctive-looking aircraft, which served as the command ship and was launched from Mar- Will's Kree Cruiser. The pilot was a woman from the Kree Starforce.
This larger fighter jet has a shield field far greater than that of the smaller Kree fighters. Furthermore, she wasn't the first target, meaning the pilots had time to react once they noticed they were under attack.
This person's approach was to maximize the shield's energy within a mere fraction of a second of judgment time.
And most of the attacks were concentrated on the tail section, where the engines were located, which was the area most frequently attacked.
This meant that Black Super's actions only made the fighter jet roll several times, but failed to damage the main engine.
However, by this time, the Black Super had already begun to pass through the atmosphere and descend towards the ground. He couldn't be bothered to turn back and deal with this escaped aircraft.
Since there's only one enemy left, it's not bad to leave Nick Fury with some fun. It saves him and Maria Rambo from nagging in the cockpit about tracking him down and finding out who this mysterious figure who helped them is.
This damn curiosity is worse than a cat's.
The fighter jet that had narrowly escaped the clutches of the Black Super didn't disappoint; instead of staying to rescue its comrades, it continued the pursuit. After all, there was another small warship behind them that could carry out rescue operations.
Perhaps her initial mission was to pursue the Skrulls were fleeing the cruiser, which is why she didn't chase after the more threatening Black Super.
Partly because the Black Super was already far away and moving at great speed, heading towards the ground, it was better to complete the mission than to chase after such an enemy.
She had learned from reports by Bron-Char and the other soldiers that there were unidentified enemies lurking on the cruiser. However, their actions seemed more like they were there to take advantage of the chaos and steal something, although she didn't yet know what losses they had suffered.
As instructed by Commander Yon Rogers, this person was placed as the second priority target. He would be considered only after the first priority targets were eliminated.
The primary target, of course, is the Skrulls, the great enemy of the Kree Empire.
So Minn-Erva, piloting her fighter jet, resolutely pursued the outdated aircraft filled with Skrulls. She first fired to prevent the two sides from meeting, and then chased after the clumsy, flying elephant.
