The Film Outlook for 1996
Charlize Theron already had two films scheduled for release in 1996.
One of the musical comedy films, Tom Hank' That Thing You Do! debut, is scheduled for release in October.
The other film is a project produced by renowned producer Bruckheimer, "The Rock," scheduled for release in June.
Charlize Theron exists in another universe and didn't appear in this film. This is probably a butterfly effect brought about by Henry.
However, * the Rock * is a male-centric film, and Charlize Theron plays Sean Conner's daughter. She doesn't have many scenes, but she does have lines.
In contrast, while Charlize also played a supporting role in "That Thing You Do!," she had a more substantial screen time. However, the production quality and box office returns of the two films are worlds apart.
However, in early 1996, before either film was released, everything was still uncertain.
Who knows if the producer might just wield the scissors and cut all of someone's scenes? This kind of thing is quite common in Hollywood.
Or the box office could completely reverse, with unsuccessful films becoming bestsellers and bestsellers failing to sell.
After all, this is a world with Mutants and superheroes; there's already enough fighting and killing in everyday life. Given this, would anyone still go to the movies seeking thrills?
There's no precise mathematical formula to predict movie box office numbers; who knows what the universe will be like?
Charlize Theron didn't get arrogant just because she'd appeared in two movies, and even those were supporting roles with lines.
The production budgets for her two films were 26 million and 75 million respectively, definitely big-budget productions.
This achievement far surpasses Henry's previous performances, who at most had only participated in one big-budget production, "Demon Fighter".
It's said that Hollywood has experienced significant inflation in recent years, with film production costs skyrocketing.
Charlize Theron's great opportunity is undoubtedly thanks to her agent, JJ Harris. Without her connections, even if Henry became CEO of Stark Studios, he wouldn't know where to begin.
Moreover, during the filming of "The Rock," Henry Cavill was framed by the Skrulls.
I heard the production team almost dropped Charlize Theron from her supporting role. In the end, it was thanks to the intervention of Conner, who played her father in the film, that Charlize was able to continue playing this role, which already had a small amount of screen time.
After Henry resolved his troubles, he and Charlize Theron treated the old man to a meal. Only then did they understand why the old man had taken such good care of Charlize, a fledgling actress.
Sean Conner worked with Audrey Hepburn in the 1976 film, * Robin and Marian *. Moreover, when Catherine Hepburn learned that Charlize Hepburn was in the same production, she called him and asked him to look after the girl.
This kind of friendship among veteran filmmakers often plays a significant role unexpectedly.
Sean Conner was also a soldier, having served as a seaman on an aircraft carrier in the Royal Navy, before retiring due to health issues. Such a man is particularly committed to keeping his promises.
Moreover, Henry's troubles turned out to be a false alarm, and the old man's intervention saved the production team from potentially making a mistake that would alienate Stark Studios, which meant they gained favors from both sides.
As a renowned producer, Bruckheimer certainly has the right to disregard Stark Studios ' opinions.
But movies are works created through the collective effort of a group, and no one intentionally wants to offend anyone. Who would want to make an enemy when they can make a friend with whom there is no commercial conflict?
The unexpected bonus of this little incident was that JJ Harris had more to talk about when promoting Charlize Theron.
New actors are most afraid of not generating any buzz, whether good or bad. Although this little incident focused on Henry Brown, it also affected Charlize Theron. In the end, it had a good ending, which was a win-win situation for everyone.
Of course, Charlize wouldn't go out and try to pick a fight with a big name like Sean Conner.
With her experienced agent, JJ Harris, she struck the perfect balance, making a lasting impression without being annoying.
Despite this slight advantage, Charlize continued to follow JJ Harris to various film and television auditions, striving for her next acting opportunity.
Incidentally, Charlize Theron has already received her payment for the performance, which has greatly reduced her financial burden.
Anyway, it was just a minor supporting role, and he didn't get any box office revenue. Given Hollywood's protection of the Actors Guild members, getting paid wasn't a big problem.
Although I still can't escape the fate of working odd jobs, at least I won't be as overwhelmed as before.
Henry was keen to find some good projects to help with.
But honestly, most of the good projects are controlled by the big film studios. Only those they don't want flow to smaller film companies.
Stark Studios is currently only a second-rate film company in Hollywood.
Even though Henry asked the production department to put all the plans and scripts they had received on his desk for a second round of screening, he, as the CEO, was still unable to find any hidden gems based on his memories from before his time travel.
Even with Super Brain helping him recall his memories from before he traveled through time, Henry had to admit that although he had seen many popular movies, he was not exactly a Hollywood expert.
Sometimes the project title and the final movie title are completely different things, and the script is even revised beyond recognition. Judging from these drafts alone, the accuracy of predicting the future success of the movie is no less than that of consulting a fortune teller at a temple.
At this point in time, nearing the 21st century, the only reliable information Henry could recall was the Titanic, the Titanic that capsized everything.
However, although the film has not been officially shot yet, pre-production work began last year.
Moreover, the film's success is absolutely inseparable from James Cameron's role as Tyrant on set. Trying to interfere with the film would be an almost impossible task.
The only chance was probably when the production team ran out of funds and needed to seek additional investment. 20th Century Fox didn't want to keep taking advantage of them, and Cameron had no choice but to look for external funding.
At Stark Studios ' Christmas party, Henry also took the opportunity of a demonstration of digital imaging technology to exchange ideas with the renowned director. He even hinted that the director could come to him if he needed funding.
But how it will end is not something he, Kryptonian, can decide.
The human heart can never be forced.
