Kingo's invitation
The response from India came faster than expected. The very next day, Karun Patel returned to Stark Studios to reciprocate Henry's earlier invitation.
The portly butler, all smiles, said, "Mr. Brown, Mr. Kingo asked me to convey that it's currently the film production period, and it's inconvenient for him to leave."
"But he would be happy to invite you to India and cover all your expenses, including a stay in a five-star hotel. Moreover, Mr. Kingo sent his private jet to pick you up yesterday."
"The private jet will arrive in Los Angeles tonight. Considering the crew's rest time, you can depart as early as the day after tomorrow. If you wish to depart earlier, we can also contact local crew members to arrange the flight."
"Once you arrive in India, in addition to business negotiations, if you wish to travel, we can also arrange a professional guide to serve you. We will absolutely make you feel at home and provide you with the highest level of comfort."
"Of course, Mr. Kingo will do his best to receive you and let you witness the power of the Ginger family in Bollywood, proving that we are Stark Studios' best partner in India."
After another string of standard remarks, seemingly without a pause, Karun Patel suddenly added, "Oh, I almost forgot. What If...? Mr. Brown wishes to bring a companion, we will treat him with the same level of hospitality."
Does this mean he wants me to bring Charlize Theron along? Does he want another hostage to keep me in check?
Henry chuckled and said, "I can ask my girlfriend. But she has work commitments, and I don't know if we'll have a chance to travel to India together."
Karun Patel said with a fawning smile, "It's alright, it's alright. Mr. Kingo just told me that it's not limited to Mr. Brown alone; you can bring as many companions as you want."
"It's just that the way we treat guests might differ depending on whether they are accompanied by women or not. I believe you can understand that."
"Oh, well." Henry, suddenly realizing the truth, gave a wry smile and said, "I know what you mean, but that kind of hospitality isn't necessary."
"Of course, of course, it's fine without it. Even if it happens along the way, we can change the arrangements at any time. No problem."
I don't know if this was Kingo's idea, or the fat butler's design, or maybe it's just that white guys in India all like curry-flavored girls.
Therefore, those responsible for reception were used to making this arrangement.
Whether Charlize Theron is willing to go or not, Henry will have to go home and ask. But to be honest, Henry doesn't want his girlfriend to go to that country.
Regarding the question of whether India's sanitation is friendly to women, Henry has not witnessed these situations firsthand, so he will refrain from commenting on them for the time being.
But this time, besides business with Stark Studios, there were also some secrets he couldn't tell her directly. In other words, he could only send her away, leaving Charlize Theron to travel alone or idly stay in the hotel.
How strong must one's heart be to dare let their girlfriend walk alone on the streets of India? Even with a local guide and bodyguards, Henry still couldn't feel at ease.
So it's better not to ask about this kind of thing. Besides, there's another problem at home: pet hotels won't take them, which will be a headache.
It's not like we live in a world where people treat pets like sons, so there's no such thing as a pet hotel. And regular pet shops don't seem to cater to Tiger.
Aside from sending it to a zoo or hiring a caretaker, the best option is to take it with you. So Henry asked directly, "What If...? I want to bring my pet along, can you help with the arrangements in India, like quarantine and customs clearance?"
"Of course, no problem. Whether it's a kitten or a puppy, as long as there are valid veterinary certificates, I can handle any issues with the India side after they arrive."
"Hmm." Considering that she still needs to fly back to the United States from India, India is a high-risk area for rabies, the relevant quarantine documents need to be prepared properly. Otherwise, it would be troublesome if United States customs wouldn't release Kitty upon her return.
Fortunately, last October, thanks to the Skrulls' mischief, Henry was taken to the FBI, Kitty ended up in the zoo.
Because of this experience, Henry took Kitty to a professional animal hospital afterwards, got all the reports and documents, and also had her undergo a health check to ensure Kitty's "legal" status.
This includes vaccinations against rabies and various animal infectious diseases.
The reason I made all these things was to prevent that girl at the zoo from finding a legal loophole to confiscate my pet. She relentlessly caused me trouble several more times afterward.
Henry paid additional lawyer fees to find California officials familiar with the regulations to assist the lawyer, and only then was he able to get rid of the girl.
It's important to understand that Kitty didn't enter the United States through legal channels. If you really want to find fault, you can certainly find some problems.
So, on the lawyer's advice, Henry got the relevant documents sorted out, which relieved his worries.
These quarantine documents will come in handy now, but the relevant regulations still need to be confirmed. Henry said, "Well then, I also need a day to consult on the relevant matters, including the regulations for pets returning to the United States."
"Also, I need to ask my female companion's opinion to see if she'd be willing to go to India on business. If all goes well, we'll proceed as planned and depart the day after tomorrow. Is that alright?"
"Of course." Karun Patel took out a hotel business card and said, "This is my contact information. Mr. Brown, please feel free to contact me if you have any additional requirements. I will send a car to pick you up from the airport the day after Brown."
"Alright. I'll leave it to you then." Henry accepted the business card and said goodbye to the portly India butler.
At night, after a busy day, Charlize returned home and, while watching the videotape of today's acting lesson, wrapped her arms around Kitty's neck, as if she wanted to bury herself in Tiger's body, reclining on Kitty like a beanbag chair.
This guy is really being petted like a cat!
Lately, unless Kitty jumps onto the top cat tree, she almost always falls prey to Charlize's clutches.
Luckily, they were raising Tiger, not lions. Otherwise, the lion's mane would have been braided into countless plaits.
Imagine Simba from the Lion King, his sideburns turned into Sun Pharma braids! He'd probably be humanely Destroy by Henry the next day.
Meanwhile, Henry was busy in the kitchen. Recalling what the fat India butler had said earlier that day, after a moment's thought, Henry said, "Darling, I'm going to India on a business trip for a few days tomorrow." He omitted the mention of an invitation.
Lifting her face from Kitty's neck, Charlize tilted her head back and looked up toward the kitchen.
Q: "Hmm, India. Do you need me to come along?"
That's an interesting rhetorical question. It's not about whether you want to, but whether you need to. This kind of thinking doesn't sound like a woman's emotional thinking; it's more like a man's logical thinking.
And if Charlize really wanted to go, she would have directly asked, "Can she come along?" Asking if she needed to come along suggests she didn't actually want to go; she was simply giving her the choice.
Henry said, "You're just starting out. You've only had two movies, and they were just supporting roles. It's too early to say how well you've fared."
"In this situation, I agree with the strategy that Ms. Harris has arranged for you, which is to attend as many auditions as possible and get more people to know you."
"It's no exaggeration to say that this period is the most important stage for you. My main purpose in going to India is work. I don't feel comfortable letting you walk the streets of India alone, so you should stay here."
"Once you've achieved some success and are in the mood to travel, then we'll go on a trip together."
"Okay, whatever you say." Charlize Theron readily agreed. Or rather, that was also her idea, and of course she wouldn't deliberately disagree.
"Oh, right. I'll take Kitty with me."
"Why! I can help take care of Kitty too." Charlize stroked the Tiger's head and the back of its neck at the same time, making the guy so comfortable that its eyes narrowed again and its tongue stuck out a little.
"Pfft! No protests allowed. I'd be worried about leaving Kitty alone at home. You can say you want to take care of her, that's fine too."
Don't mistake Tiger for Hello Kitty just because it's not roaring. Henry wouldn't dare gamble on whether Kitty's wild side had completely disappeared.
