Tiger Language Translator Nearing Completion
To reiterate, before 9/11 in the early 21st century, the Americans, with their inexplicable self-confidence, were not entirely indifferent to flight safety, but they were certainly very relaxed about it.
Inside the plastic cage that even Chihuahua could break, with all the necessary documents attached, Henry passed through customs smoothly without any trouble and took Kitty onto the plane.
Because it was a private jet, there was no dedicated cargo hold. In addition, there were only a few Passenger, including Henry and the fat butler, and the rest were crew members.
So Henry didn't keep Kitty in the cage, but released her directly, completely ignoring the feelings of others. At this moment, Henry fully demonstrated the attitude of a person in a position who only cares about their own convenience and doesn't care about the situation of others.
In fact, explaining to others that Kitty wouldn't do anything out of line under his supervision would be a very troublesome thing. So it's better not to say anything.
However, Henry still made special preparations and arrangements for the animals' feed and defecation locations.
The flight from Los Angeles to Mumbai, India, takes about 24 hours, including a refueling stop. Henry certainly didn't want to spend that long time in a confined space surrounded by the untreated, foul-smelling excrement of an apex predator.
Training this big guy to relieve himself in a designated spot is not difficult at all, as long as you find the right method.
With just a few drops of urine from another large carnivore, a territorial predator will use its own urine scent to overpower another marking rival at that location.
After a few times, Kitty got used to relieving herself in the same spot. She was easier to teach than a small child or some adults.
When Henry's pet appeared, Karun Patel nearly peed her pants in fright. The other crew members weren't much better off.
The fat butler must have thought that all those hundreds of pounds of his body were going to be used up today.
But Kitty didn't even bother to approach him; instead, she walked away with a look of disgust. The reason was simple: this guy was wearing cologne.
This extra smell disgusted Kitty.
After putting the large cat's food into the airplane's refrigerated compartment, Henry said to the slightly calmer, plump India butler, "Mr. Patel, my pet Tabby Cat eats three meals a day at the same time, just like a human."
"Each meal requires 10 to 15 pounds of raw meat, preferably bloody, and please try to find clean meat free of parasites. This is the requirement."
Can I ask you for a favor?
Realizing the Tiger showed no intention of attacking him, Karun Patel gradually relaxed his guard. This behavior only suggests that this India man's audacity was boundless.
In the confined space of Gulfstream private jet, unless a person is carrying a large-caliber hunting rifle that is already loaded and ready to fire, there is no such thing as a safe distance for a apex predator like Tiger.
Once Kitty starts moving, no one can escape. If the cockpit reacts quickly enough to close the hatch, there might still be a chance to survive. But the passenger cabin is simply not big enough for Kitty to run and jump around in.
However, with Henry present, he certainly couldn't let the tiger attack anyone. He simply sat in his seat with his legs draped over Kitty's back.
The "big cat" lay obediently on the floor and lazily began to doze off.
This guy already weighs 550 pounds, and he just eats and sleeps all day long. It seems he needs some high-intensity exercise to lose weight, otherwise he'll turn into a yellow-and-black-spotted pig.
The 24 hours on the plane weren't too difficult, partly because it was a private jet with plenty of space.
Henry was free to move around, and Kitty was unharmed. Moreover, Karun Patel and the other crew members were surprised to discover that the Tiger could actually understand human speech!
Of course, she can't fully understand the meaning of human language. But Kitty can understand basic action commands, just like some well-trained dogs.
Moreover, Kitty can understand not only specific instructions, but also more ambiguous sentences, and respond accordingly.
For example, when asked to move aside, make way, or ask for passage, Kitty would always move aside to let others pass.
This is achieved, of course, not through dog training methods to instill a controlled response in Kitty, but through the fifth-generation Tiger Language Translator that hangs on her ear.
Starting with the first two generations, the host computer is no longer needed to process and collect large amounts of data. The translator can operate offline for simple communication.
Besides being able to translate human languages offline (currently only English), it can also translate them into roars that Tiger can understand, allowing Kitty to hear them via bone conduction without attracting the attention of others.
Then Kitty's thoughts and shouts will be translated back into human language, making them understandable to people.
However, the latter's function was limited by Henry. He translated the Tiger Language into high-frequency sounds that were undetectable to the human ear, and the power and volume were quite low, basically only to the extent that Henry could hear it.
The reason for doing this is to save power. Although lightweight and rechargeable lithium iron batteries have been developed, battery life remains a challenge for all electronic products.
Besides, Henry also had to consider comfort when making these little gadgets.
The translator had to be small so that it wouldn't make Kitty uncomfortable when clipped to the tiger's ear. Because if the Tiger was uncomfortable, he would try to get rid of it. In this respect, he was even more difficult to please than a child.
Speaking of the "Powerful Brick Flying" version, Henry even made a helmet version, which he put directly on Kitty's tiger head. This thing also integrated a microcomputer, so it could continue to collect and analyze data. It's just a bit heavy.
Then this version only lasted three minutes before being crushed into a pancake by Tiger that had gotten rid of its helmet.
Therefore, comfort is very important.
What If...? we disregard comfort and only consider how to secure it, basically as long as it's not sewn to the skin or implanted under the skin,
Henry has never designed a single item that Kitty can't get rid of. Even a slightly heavier one will make her fall off.
The agility of Tiger is truly beyond human imagination.
Because the translator wasn't finalized yet, it couldn't be permanently attached to Kitty. So, the design was modified several times until a design that Kitty found acceptable while also maintaining the original functionality was found, and it's still in use today.
It can be said that this plug-in Tiger Language Translator has always been limited by its appearance design and weight.
However, at this point, Kitty can understand basic human speech instructions, even though the headphone version is only available in English.
However, being able to understand something and being able to act on orders are two different things!
Kitty's compliance wasn't because she understood the commands, but simply because the animal was willing to cooperate.
After all, at home, if this "big cat" doesn't cooperate, Henry will just kick it.
Over time, as long as he didn't try to take the food from her bowl while she was eating, Kitty was quite cooperative.
However, the crew members, including Karun Patel, and especially the daring flight attendant, all wanted to pet the Tiger! This is before the age of cell phones; otherwise, they would have taken a selfie.
Seeing that they were unfamiliar with the Tiger's temperament and were not gentle enough in their attacks, if Henry hadn't been around, a murder could have occurred in no time.
With Henry watching, he would stop anyone else from acting if Kitty showed any discomfort.
Henry's bottom line was to prevent Tiger from harming people, but he certainly didn't want to train Kitty to be like a cat doll.
